  • Every puppy I've ever had when they start the biting nonsense I tell them no bite in a loud voice as soon as they release their bite on my hand I replace it with a toy or appropriate rubber puppy bone. After a small amount of time they learn that hands are not for biting. And they happily chew on their toys. They also learn the actual command of no bite so if they grab something I can tell them no bite and they release it

    • "No" is a word dogs can not understand because they dont understand what to do with it. It's too negative and means nothing to them, what your dogs are probably responding to is your loud voice, not exactly what you are saying, thats why Will uses noises instead of words when training dogs because they respond better and associate noise and action

I believe it is a dominance thing but it’s gotten to the point that the submissive dog (boxer) had bled from the alpha (mini aussie) biting him. He does so randomly while playing with no warning or just simply as he is walking past. It is aggressive play and I can’t seem to stop it prior to it happening because there is no warning, simply turn around and jump/bite at the same time to the boxers ears. Any tips ?

Doesn't seem as hungry. More protein in fish likely. I'm hypoglycemic low blood sugar. If I eat Salmon and salad in the morning I will be less hungry throughout the day. So at least twice a week I feed her fish can dog food. Beef stew dog food. Something hearty. Too you are looking at the breed. A husky or Rottweiler is going to want to eat more. Hope that helps.

  • Please do a video on how to stop a puppy/dog from correcting a human! If our 7 mo old puppy is made to do something she doesn't like, she will give a nip to the leash or the person. Obviously this is unacceptable. We correct her consistently (usually with a leash pop), but it's been months now and she hasn't stopped. • I have eliminated my puppy’s biting/teething within my household. I have 2 young children that he no longer treats as other puppies. However, how do you recommend I curtail the behavior when strangers ask to pet him? I obviously want a well socialized dog (he’s a 10-15 week old pit bull rescue) that’s comfortable and happy around all people and other dogs. So I allow almost everyone who asks to pet him and show affection the opportunity to do so. Yet his first instinct is to mouth/teeth on them and they always allow it.

    • Please tell me how you eliminated this behavior? My 13 w/o pit sees my 4 year old as her litter mate!😭

      @lydiatulipana3775@lydiatulipana37758 ай бұрын
    • @@lydiatulipana3775 First and foremost, it is establishing clear boundaries with your children. And with your puppy. EVERY time your puppy nips - play stops immediately and it’s a stern reprimand. Loud voice “NO” and a quick snap and “finger bite” I AM NOT HITTING MY PUPPY!!!! I am correcting them the way it’s mother would. I then place myself between my child and my puppy until the rough play ends on both accounts. When everyone is calm play can resume as long as no teeth are involved. It takes vigilance and cooperation from your child as well. They have to understand if they run screaming with the puppy they are now puppies too. As your puppy begins to understand that biting stops all play and earns a rebuke, the nipping ends and the play continues. My four-year-old human now gets in between my 4 month old pit and my 9 year old pit mix while they’re playing and I haven’t had an incident in weeks. Hope that helps. Also replacing skin with teething toys and letting them know that toys are appropriate ALWAYS and skin is not EVER. The key is that fun ends when skin is touched with teeth and continues when they act appropriately. Your puppy wants clear rules. When they understand them, they follow willingly.

I mean we've only had him less than 5 days at this point though and I am sure getting frustrated doesn't help the situation. Does any one here have any tips for pups that seem to not respond or react to a touch correction (or verbal correction). In this time, we've nearly mastered sit, stay, come, and the very beginnings of leash work, but when I am playing with him and he decides to get bitey with me.. I can't seem to find a way to correct it or snap him out of it.. I can redirect it with a toy for a few moments at best.
