The quality and scenery are stunning, considering how old the film is. Germany in the 30s was a powerhouse of science and technology.
Not quite powerful enough though
It was also a powerhouse of fascism and antisemitism.
Of course not enough when 4 nations attack and bombard you at once
Und dann kam Adolf und alles ging den Bach runter, nun werden wir von der Regierung klein gehalten. 🎉
and a powerhouse of wrong doing.
The children are now in their 80's or 90's and all the adults have passed away. I am glad these home movies have survived the war.
Um, Goebbels and his wife Magda killed all 6 of their children , then committed suicide themselves. Every one of these humans was monstrous. The banality of evil in person.
If those are the Goebbels children, they didn’t survive the war. Their mother murdered them before committing suicide in 1945.
I don't think any of these kids survived the war!
I don’t either. I think those children took poison in the bunker
@@stephenbedell7296 Correct--I believe that most of the children shown are some of the six Goebbels kids. Towards the end, there were offers to evacuate the children from the bunker, but their parents wanted them all to die together. The six children were injected with morphine by the bunker's dentist, then given cyanide by their mom.

Hitler has be presented as the worst person ever by the tolerant joos.
He would never publicly acknowledge Eva, waiting till the day he died to marry her. She was so obsessed with finally getting a commitment from him that she gave up her life.
They died for what they believed in. Knowing that whatever would come after the defeat of their Reich would not be a world worth living in
Eva Braun's home movies were shot with a 16mm Bolex "Expert" with a three-lens turret! 8mm didn't exist in Germany-they used single perforated 7.5mm. Her movies were all shot on 16mm Kodachrome and probably processed in France, as France had two Kodak Labs, one in Paris and one in Marseilles. The camera is in the Hitler Bunker museum, along with her 120 Aga Prominent still camera and her solid gold cigarette case inscribed to her from "Adolf H." Eva smoked, but Hitler allowed NO SMOKING in his presence. He reprimanded Donitz repeatedly for lighting his pipe or cigars.

Devils ! The Devils helped Hitler to power. Hitler recalled in WW1 he heard a voice told him to escape from the bunker he used to be stationed, the voice was fierce yelling at him to keep run away in the trenches and then a large explosion coming from behind. Nobody survived in that bunker except him. So if this story was true, Hitler was possessed by demons for very long time.
Incredible footage. From these happy scenes to a capsule in Berlin.
To think these men are the worlds worst mass murders. Chilling.
This is really nice footage!
These are actually very good and in exposure sense, better than today’s technology. We can see bright sunny days, she’s filming subjects going from bright light to shade however the highlights aren’t blown out & they’re correctly exposed in the shadows. The dynamic range of the film she’s using is incredible. Obviously not as sharp or detailed as today’s lenses but quite impressive. Something I never thought I say about Nazis.
I thought you were talking about the camera? Also was Eva brown a Nazi?
Nazis were the first to send anything from earth into space. They were objectively extremely impressive in more ways than one. If ideology blinds how people can perceive objective facts you need to question that ideologies motives...
German Lenses are still the best lenses. Leica, Schneider, Zeiss, rodenstock...
The Nazis pioneered film specifically the woman who made Triumph of the Will, her name escapes me at the moment
From my experience, film generally always seems to get a better dynamic range than digital, given I've only had a small bit of experience with comparatively modern film
It's amazing how clear and vivid these videos look as if they were taken just yesterday. Eva Braun discovered her passion for filming and photography while working as an assistant to Mr. Hoffman, who was the official photographer of the Nazi Party. Thanks to Eva's passion, we have a unique window into events that unfolded over 80 years ago, which would otherwise remain unseen.

@@hermanjacobs4425 I thought that the final solution briefing was held in southwest Berlin at a mansion known as Wannsee? The mansion was reportedly confiscated/stolen from a wealthy Jewish person. Heydrich was supposedly so in love with the place that he planned to make it his home after the war.
@@sunnyhill5119 You are right that Reinhard Heydrich put the Final Solution into action through the Wannsee conference. However, it was in Berghuf that the ideas of sorting out the Jewish problem were first discussed among Hitler and his inner circle Nazi officials. Hitler had been always very keen to get rid of the Jewish population out of Germany and Europe, which he reportedly delegated the infamous task to Heydrich. Berghuf, being the summer court and the unofficial second seat of Nazi government, was built for Hitler to meet his top Nazi leaders to discuss Nazi policies in a private luxury residence setting.

Looks like 16mm to me too.
