If your Cars paint job is ugly because it's peeling, eroding, crumbling, do this to reduce the ugly contrasting areas where the clear coat is intact but hazy, where the edges are peeling off, where the clear coat came off and the color base coat is exposed and oxidized. Use it to reduce the ugly contrast and bring back the good remaining color and shine. For a more cleaner look it won't be perfect but it will help it look better. Until you can repaint it.
In this video you see how to simply polish clean almost any paint job back to a better cleaner state. Our Lukat Fix It Cleaning Polish is a dedicated liquid deep cleaning polish made for gently removing embedded contaminants. Before you repaint your automobiles paint job and spend a lot of money. Try this, watch the video this can be done by hand in sections over a period of time by machine all in one shot. This paint job is of a delaminated clear coat, we consider these kinds of paint jobs as destroyed paint jobs. But that doesn't stop us from simply cleaning back any remaining color and shine. In most cases you'd be surprised by how much color and shine still remains, on these kinds of paint jobs regular maintenance will be required but again it's a simple process of polish cleaning specific areas as opposed to all of the paint job.
Now if your paint job is one that is not delaminated but rather it's just old and hazy mostly on the top areas of your vehicle, looks good with uniform shine when it's wet, but when it dries up looks ugly again. Then your gonna love this product because this is what it's made for, bringing back the remaining color and shine to a really good state sometimes to almost like new. Immediately liked because u made it clear that sanding painting and re clear coating would be best, not trying to push a miracle product. Keep it up 🤙

I've tried the products and it works just as described. I highly recommend instead of getting a new paint job that is not budget friendly if your income is tight.
Would you quit scratching it with your nails! 😂😂😂

Remove much of that scaly, dried up clear coat by 'waxing' it! I mean like a lady would wax her legs. Take heavy duty clear box tape, apply it to the surface you want to remove, 'burnish' it down good with the back side of a spoon-slightly dampened- and then strip it off in a quick motion. It won't take off anything that's firmly adhered..but everything that's ready to come off! Saves a lot of time and effort.
He’s polished the base coat🤙🏽

Yes you can still see it, but that is actually pretty awesome!! It looks so much better and actually looks as if it’s well taken care of after the process compared to the other side! You can’t even tell that it was as bad as that on the right.. Thank you!!!
Looks great I have a question i have some over spray basecoat that is on my hood. So i have lost the smooth surface . Would our pant cleaner help that or should i use a 2000 wet sand on it then polish is up?
I would also like to see you use those products after wet sanding and fetching in the clear but tbh its dope!
Major improvement in comparison. I live in the so cal high desert area and climates extremely dry most the time, really causes clear coat rash fast..Thanks for the information 👍🏾
Same.. Adelanto here
My first thought was... (for that pretty blue)... it looks like a galaxy. Just go with it and use some sponges to add more nebula colors. Turn it into a work of art. 😂 On a serious note: I just bought a 2001 Mazda Miata and it has these paint issues on the hood and trunk. I paid 3k for the car... really trying to avoid an expensive paint job. Definitely going to try this first. Ty for the product and instructions!

Amazing before and after. In the past, I would have never bought a car like this, thinking it was ruined forever.
On my tailgate I just brushed on a little acrylic enamel reducer to soften it up then took a plastic scraper to remove it.
Very honest product presentation. I will be trying this. Thank you. 😊
My daddy worked in a body shop when he was younger I done been there done that so I would take my sander and sand a little bit of that down and then put some clear coat on it

Got a bottle of each the other day that I ordered and exactly as advertised with good results. I watched the demonstration on another clip and followed with exact results. My clearcoat was worse and with a lot of elbow grease I got good results. As stated, it isnt perfect by no means, but a whole lot better with no more white areas. Not sure how long it will last, but I will definitely keep waxed to maintain the new finish. Thank you! Very satisfied customer.
Still looking good?

Amazing stuff 👍👍👍👍I did it and it looks like a new paint job
I wonder how long is going to last before the clear coat has to be reapplied again!! My Nissan Sentra has that problem on top and hood and I don't want to paint the whole car!!
Wow! That looks way better!
Just a few questions: 1) I have a car that has little clear coat broken on the boot and above the door frame. My Question is : 1) If I use the Lukeat Fixit paint cleaner, would it Remove the rest of the clear coat out too??!! As we dont want that happens!! 2) Can I use the " Paint Cleaner on the other parts of the car surface that has not been damaged as well?? 3) After using the Paint cleaner is it better to wash the car befor applying the " liquid Wax"? Thank you for your help.
My car got faded from the sun. So i will try this as well. Thank u for the video.
My cars roof and hood were faded with the roof's clear coat fucked up (kinda like this car's hood) so I knew to fix it i need to repaint it. But it's too expensive to do that here. Took it to a polisher, hood was like brand new, like holy shit. Roof looks beautiful and from the sides it doesn't even look damaged, only when you get really close. The previous owner didn't have a garage and I sure as hell didn't want to make that mistake again, so I never left it in the sun. It's been 7 months since the polishing, hood is still great and the roof had some extra detoriation from the clear coat damage, but it's still unnoticeable when looking from side. Really great value.
totally great video mahalo! I have a clear coat peeling on hood of white 87 Jeep Wagoneer. Placing my order today. Im guessing I'll need the fix it cleaner & polish? I'll before and after and share here when Im finished end of summer. Mahalo
Aloha, did it work for you? I have to do something to the roof of my car this week. That Hawaiian sun has been brutal.
For the most part, the wax sealer made the appearance darker via conditioning but it wasn’t removing the damage clear coat at all. That is why he had to applied so much of the wax/sealant.
Yup that is the point
I understand your approach but I would have done differently. Hit it with 400/600 grits and slap on 2k clear coat 2X.
I did similar this week. Left a small patch to remind myself how bad and noticeable it was before I spent hours doing it. 😂
Mine hasn't gone to this stage yet and its more feathered clear coat rather than flaking off. I have it above the windshield in two spots in front of the sun/moonroof here in Texas. Car is a 10 year old 2013 Honda CRV in Polish Metal Metallic. I did try Meguiar Ultimate Compound and Polished and followed up with Turtle Wax and it somewhat worked. I did noticed that there were very little paint transfer to the pad (especially in the center of the circle). Less noticable but obviously I need a DA to make it better. Will this work as long as its not flaking or dried to that point?
Would it be easier to use a buffer?
Would it have worked better on the highly oxidized paint if you kept reapplying the yellow liquid and scrubbing? Or would that remove too much paint
Gday mate, would you consider wholesailing this to Australia? Man we have some rough cars down here as you could imagine
Good job. I order mine yesterday. Thank you sir.

"Autobody shops hate this guy."
Can you Compound and Polish after this ?
For all that work it's just easier to sand down the clear and respray a 2k clearcoat
Yep. Kudos to this guy for the work, but IMO it still looks like a dumpster fire and, as soon as a week to a month, you’re gonna have to do it again. • Surface prep • Mask, wax/grease remove, tack cloth • 2K clear coat
@@brandonbman5921 My takeaway was that this is the best way to prep for painting as well because his cleaning process is less damaging to the base coat.
Wow it really does look better. I myself prefer sanding with a very fine grit, then polish, then wax. Downside to that is every time you sand it eats away at the clear coat.
@@stevelewis0106Of course one has to be extra careful if there is no clear or if its completely peeled , one is sanding paint, on that you are correct. This is a workaround my man, not a solution. Take it with a grain of salt. On a side note, when giving useful advice (which you did) dont say its stupid. It comes off as abrasive and it might put the other person off enough that they dont pay you any mind. Have a good one.
I see this guy demonstrating this all over Albuquerque a few years ago it works I got some for my car and it does make the car look better..
Dude that's night and day, well done!
I bought it a week ago my 2002 Toyota Camry is super clean and straight but it started showing some clear coat flaking ,I finally used it an hour ago and follow your steps ,my car looks so much better and I even revamped my head lights ,touch them at first they are opaque and yellowing, then I rubbed this stuff in with all my might and some yellow junk came off and they were clear again then I rubbed my fingers on it it was smooth.amazing product!!!!!😎😎😎😮😀😀🧽✨

How long does it last? We have a rv that have the clear coat coming off and the paint is oxidation.
Will this hold for a while? Or do you have to quickly sell the car after you applied it?
I bought a car that had pretty bad sun damage being I live in Las Vegas. I did what you did by hand and continued to clean and wax but after a month it looked brand new. It's more time than work. You gradually have to remove and clean and wax

Best thing is to sand it then apply a base coat of the same color of dupli- color best match then a can of Eastwood 2K clear
I guess I know what I’m buying today because my hood looks exactly like this in color but mine isn’t chipping near as thick as that one is

Definitely looks better but seems like a never ending problem ☹
Will it work on gelcoat?
I know you said no circular motions but what if u tried it with a buffer maybe it will get rid of most of the flaking "Maybe", I don't know its just an idea
What about using dual action sander with 800 grit.
All you’re doing here is polishing the actual base coat since the clear already failed, you can see that the paint is transferring to the rag. If that’s the case, just go over it with 1200 and compound and polish after, same thing.

Clay bar works good for cleaning as well
Yeh it looks nice when it's wet. When my sealer wax dried it left a white haze. It actually looks worse.
Hi Angela From Lukat Detail Got questions call us at 505-304-8652 If you used our Lukat Ez Sealer wax and it became hazy you just have to clean it more with the yellow bottle the Lukat Fix It Paint cleaner
Yea Angela, just buy another product to fix that issue. But if you buy that product, there is probably another one you'll need for that as well 😂
will a machine take the rest off ?
What makes it flake off?
Could you stay that with a can of clear cost?
Can I use this on a regular paint with no clear coat damage or flakes to bring a really good shine to the paint?
No, If your clearcoat is in good shape or even just faded, You want to buff and wax it well, using the proper compounds, Panel by panel. Do some research and see what fits your use case best. Clean it very, very well and clay bar the whole car first. Should come out like new, Id recommend doing it by hand first, It takes time but is worth it. It should actually be done at least yearly to keep the paint in good healthy shape.
Well, that was quite impressive. Although with that level of damage, I'd prefer some wet sanding, clear coat spray, and a bit of polishing. Definitely needs more time, but you can still finish it under 1 day.
I’m going to do a hood like this soon can you give more tips?
@@cesarsvlogs1948 It really depends on the damage level. If it just the clear coat that is damaged, you should be good with some wet sanding etc as I mentioned. But if the paint layer has also been damaged, I would suggest a repaint for the whole panel.
What grit do you think on the wet sand? I was using 380grit to try to get it off and it just smeared the clear coat and looks like crap now... I need to get it all off so I can recoat with some clear 2k and hopefully look a bit better
@@ParadiseEntertainmentCA Ouch.. I began with 800 grit, then continued to 1500 for finishing. It usually enough with the two. I would never go below 800. Yes, it will take more time and effort. But it is safer.

Where do I get that spray from pls
I've used this to clean up a few cars I've flipped made em look alot better but its also not that hard to jus sand down all the clear and re clear it. Shit a rattle can clear works wonders if dont right.
Yes sir.
Do you ever have to repaint the color? I have some failing clear I want to fix, just a couple small area in each fender. Wondering if I can just sand it and get some 2k clear in a spray can and go for it
@@asteffenson88 sometimes, if the clear has been gone for a while or if you sand too hard. But literally only need a rattle can and a steady hand. A few light coat, 1 wet, 3-4 coats of clear from a rattle can as well. Let it cure for a good week and wet sand it lightly. Buff it and polish it and its good as new. Sounds likr a lot. But a few youtube vids, a couple beers, and some patience. And you can do exacly what the shops do for 80% less money. And the great thing about learning urself, next time you do it better. And then you master it.
@@SdotX I appreciate the info. I'm only nervous cause I just spent a good amount of money on an older truck with low miles I plan to keep, it has this issue. I'm going to start with the roof and see how it turns out first before trying to do the fenders.
@@asteffenson88 yea man just take ur time and watch alot of videos until you feel comfortable doing it. I did and impala had had bad clear on the doors, fender and trunk. I actually got like $100-$150 air compressor, $20 gun and had the color mixed. Sanded the clear edges down till I couldnt feel them. Put the paint in the gun an sprayed it right outside. Could i have done a better job? Yes i learned alot from thr experience. But it was pretty straightforward. Didnt need primer because i only sanded the clear off. I sprayed the bad areas witha few light passes. Let it dry, and used 2k clear in the can from amazon. I didnt sand the clear so you can tell it was touched up. If i hadve wet sanded the aread and feathered them into the existing paint it wouldve looked 10x better. But it was a auction car with 70k miles. Quick $450 purchase to a $2200 profit. I love it man...going to start learning mechanics so i can fix my stuff myself. But good luck with it bro

Great video!!! It's a good way to fix it if u don't wanna sand. The best way to it is to water sand it with a 600 paper sand and put the clear coat!!

I sure wish I had heard about you sooner. I will be ordering your products shortly.
Could you get better results using a buffer/polisher?
Yup
Hi, I just recently ordered this stuff from your site about a month and a half ago, I did it exactly like you did, and this stuff works really good, but now I say maybe a few weeks later, my paint started to dull back up with that sloppy peeling clearcoat, any ideas on that?
Probably want to reapply a two part clear coat after cleaning then reapply the products. What I’m looking at doing myself

@@lukatfixit8298 thanks 👍
Great job. Well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Do you have a video that shows how to use a rotary buffer with your system? Thank you
Yeah I asked that on another post. I like the product I just want a faster easier way especially since I have a fractured back at the moment. Nothing that stops me from doing what I love and that is cars. If you do have a video please please share link. I’d hate to look up another video since you seemed like an honest guy. I don’t mind using the product just a bit faster. Sanding carefully maybe and applying some clear coat?? Let us know!! Keep up the awesome videos sir !!!
Cool Vid but, Wouldn't it be easier to just sand it down paint it, clear coat, light sand it again then polish it ? or sand it with some 1500 grit and clear coat. your'e going to need some clear coat soon its all flaking off ?
Yup If you know how to that Why not? 👍🏽😎
BUT! With all that magic, how much would that cost?
What about air sander?
How are these different than regular cutting, polishing compounds?

If I use the cleaner on paint that's not really sun damaged, but just peeling clear coat . Will it damage the good clear coat? There's only spots that are peeling and I don't want to damage anything I that's fine
Hi Matthew From Lukat Detail Neither of our products will damage good paint jobs. But please remember both of our products are for made for old paint restoration the Lukat Fix It is a dedicated paint cleaning polish made without any wax or shine product in it. It is only made for polish cleaning embedded contaminants off of old oxidized paint jobs. There is no need to use this product on a good paint for added shine. the Lukat Ez Sealer wax has carnauba in it but it too is made for light duty polishing and sealing. After you use our products and your paint job is clean and smooth once more then you can and should use dedicated shine and pop product for proper detailing. Hey just wondering what happens if you leave the paint without clear coat? Like should you respray it with clear coat?
The paint tends to break down when it doesn't have a clear coat.
WOW amazing results! Time to order this kit
Great to buy

This product sounds expensive ! I’ll check out the website by the way do you have a video using a machine and faster way using the products you’re using ??
How does it look after a few weeks?
My nieces Toyotas finish wasn’t nearly as bad as the blue car he used in the video . It was almost at the middle stage of deterioration, she wanted me to bring the car into my shop and paint it but she needed the car for the rest of the fall winter so I applied this to her car and now it’s almost June and it’s still pretty decent looking , I’m painting it the first weekend of June so it lasted through a winter weather cycle and all she did was hose it off to remove road grime all winter . I washed it today and all it needed was a little liquid spray wax to bring back what shine it had , so if you do it twice a year you should be fine until a body and fender man can repaint it for you ..
Can u give the me link for the product?
I recently bought a civic sedan for a daily driver and it has some sections where the clear coat is peeling and I am seriously thinking about ordering this product!!
Hi Mr Bond From Lukat This product works because it's simply polish cleaning back the remaining shine on your paint job. On a delamination project it won't look perfect but it will look better If the clear coat is still intact but hazy it'll bring it back to like new. There will be areas on the paint job where the clear coat is further eroded than other areas, but polishing it will help those areas from deteriorating more. The areas where the clear coat is crumbling, eroding, or peeling will have to be feathered back. The areas where the clear coat is gone are the areas where you can polish the exposed color base coat back to a shine. The exposed color base coat will not have a rich gloss like the still intact clear coat, but making it shine will help blend the remaining color base coat with the remaining still intact clear coat. The edges where the clear coat looks at it's worst can be feathered back. There is no uniform approach for this, but if you keep in mind that the less you cut the more you got to work with. Watch the videos on our channel if your working on delaminated paint job watch our play list of peeling clear coats or text us 505-304-8652 ask questions.
