gotta give that good ol rubiconian handshake
@@Darkoriax17 So many matches. They have to hit me many times, I just need to hit them once.
Thanks for helping spread awareness of how Mellowlink is raw af.
All this shooting and explosions were a diversion from the real attack. Mellowlink exploited Fox's weakness of gloating. All Mellow needed was to get close.
Love the old mech sounds from the 80s-90s. Gundam, Robotech, this, etc..
I’ve been slowly been learning the design inspirations for the weapons of armored core 6
Harbor freight farm jack and ramset gun for the win.
Yep. Wipe it off and return it.
I just got a blu-ray box set of Armored Trooper VOTOMS 'cause of your uploads!! I'm a handful of episodes into the first series, it's awesome as hell!!
Looking to do the same! Where’d you cop it from?
@@LombardoJoe also streaming on HiDive
I had this with space adventure Cobra dodgy video copy 30 years ago. Nice flashbacks
Great stuff, never tire of rewatching mellowlink fights. For how "simple" the main plot is, it works, and everything around it is amazing.
2:32 **100 ONLOOKERS KILLED.** 2:40 "OK now back to the action!" lmao. The animation looks so good I have to watch the whole thing. :D
Just so everyone knows, this was one of the anime specifically called out by Mike Pondsmith (Cyberpunk 2020) for what sets the tone for a Cyberpunk game.
Source of this? I'd love to see that.
@@SergioSergio12345 He literally made a Votoms tabletop RPG
@@dogus4728 H U H
@@SergioSergio12345 Its sucks ass and only had one booklet when its advertised that it would have more book releases later on. the book uses the OG Anime as almost a adventure guide while really giving you nothing to explore the rest of the universe with. its the F90 Of RPGS
@@heymay724 Thats fucked up, the west has truly fallen
Actually my first exposure to Votoms, still my favorite character from the series
Doing the lord’s work
I love when someone takes direct advantage of a villain's sadism or something like that. Full reversal on the fear factor, too! Garvin goes from sadistic glee to feeling more fear than he ever had in his life. This isn't a clip, it's a poetic excerpt.
Thats... gundam sound effect... The movement
well this was made by the same guy as the original gundam so i wouldnt be surpirsed if they reused sound fxs
@@mrtyler603 also sounds like the sound used in MegaMan on the N64 for his rocket skates
Also the head of silcerfox reminds me of the reconquista in g grunts seems they pulled that design from here
@@mrtyler603 Not "made by the same guy" exactly, but you're on the right track. Gundam was created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, VOTOMS was created, directed etc by Ryousuke Takahashi. However both series were produced by the same studio, Sunrise. As for sound design, you can hear a lot of sound effects repeated in Sunrise shows in the 80s and 90s. Ryousuke Takahashi is directing another anime this year, called The Fable based off a manga. Crazy that he's still making stuff when he's been at it since the 70s.
Geez, this was what was airing in japan while we were getting Transformers & G.I.Joe! The best we got was Robotech, but we really missed out!
Thank you for uploading, what a cool watch. I wanna find the full thing now.
2:32 you have murdered over 1000 people at your shows “they come for the experience, if they didnt want to get shot, theyd stop coming”
animation studio for this was TMS Entertainment Who ironically also did American cartoon "Peter Pan and the Pirates" If you look "Mellowlink" resembles..........
That fight was rad! Great use of the cloak to actually cloak capabilities
Holy crap this animation is awesome! I gotta watch this fully immediately
There’s a lot of gundam sounds in there.
Made by the OG Gundam people so quite possibly they're reused assets, or re-recorded using the same gear.
A lot of studios used the same sound libraries back in the day
This is amazing!
Is there a recent translation for this show? This is the first time i have seen it with any english
I am not much of an anime guy outside of Gundam stuff in middle school and Jin Roh recently but im here for this.
Metal Gear Solid Boss battle the anime!
I never thought in my life that I would see a Mellowlink clip with 300k views; 'we are so back', as they say elsewhere
Thanks for the video.
The best votom series ive watch for along time after airing the tv series im still love watching it many times
I love this show 😊. One of the many inspirations I had for a comic I made as a kid 😁. It was kind of dumb but I had fun making it 😂.
2:30 bring your metal raincoats. front row gets completely flippin' annihilated...
This is great! I've never heard of it before.
Welp that was awesome. Time to go watch the entire series.
The Solid Snake of Votom Hunters
Even with that VHS quality audio, it's hard NOT to recognise Akio Ootsuka!
This is beautiful
A chunk of the audience getting absolutely smoked like a holiday ham made me laugh so hard I almost choked
This is really cool
Love some classic votoms oavs
These older anime art are great!
I need to watch this anime NOW!
Its been ages since I've seen this
Damn this looks so crisp, I thought the masters of this show were lost in a fire and it couldn't be remastered. Did you use AI to upscale it?
No AI was used to upscale. Apparently the masters for Mellowlink were found in 2021 and released on the Perfect Soldier Boxset Bluray (which i got this from). No info was given how they were acquired, I'm assuming the studio managed to find them in their archive. Shining Heresy masters are still being looked into by the studio.
@@EpicBlargman Awesome, this is one of my favorite animes. It's great being able to see it in proper HD.
Are these episodes available anywhere to download in High quality. I would love to watch them.

"Hey Silver Fox" ...why are you all sweaty? "I started a fight club"
Dude should just have opened his hands
oh hell yeah mellowlink, this one rocks
If just look the statistic on the paper, Armour Trooper vs humans, overall in terms of speed, fire power , durability and Stamina, there is nothing a mere human can match it. But in the end the dude win, what a match!
Dude his stamina is UNMATCHED THAT WAS AMAZING 🤯🥴
Finally..... i know where that 4chan meme from 2005, is from.

Old School anime rocks!
Now i understand the reason for the cape!
Pilebunked
How sniping in a CQC scenario looks like
pile bunker my beloved
Does anyone know of a place where one can watch this series with english subtitles? I've been looking for years but can't seem to find it anywhere.
This reminds me a little of Heavy Gear from Dream Pod 9.
This is where DP9 got its idea for Heavy Gear.
Dang this season of aqua teen looks crazy!
They lent a Gundam for this unofficial Spin Off, this production team is very smart
One of Tomino's creations!😮
Holy shit. Is this a VOTOMS spinoff? Because this looks fuckin' awesome.
Yes -- follows the story of one soldier who was betrayed as he hunts down his old commanders who were responsible. I haven't yet found a good place to watch the whole series, but I'm very interested.
Pretty cool anime.
I was wondering how you make a show out of a mech vs man fight but now I realize id pay money to see a cat and mouse game like this (granted they can build a 20mm resistant transparent dome around it )
Bodied by a pile bunker before pile bunker was meta
HARD
1:48 "You think you can fight me with that anti-anti-tank rifle?!"
"Armored Trooper" here.
When your long-range sniper rifle also has a close-quarters combat bunker-driver
Mellowlink is such a god damn hunk
I see Gundam and this use the same sound effect pool
Why mech guy didn't just move in the end?
holy shit those spectators got WASTED
It's votoms, but there's always a Char somewhere anyway
I was concerned for the safety of the public and the video casually showing them getting blasted lol
Wow ive never seem this anime but I do always prefer this kind art style ever since I watch gundam seed and desert punk when I was a kid
I was like: They doesn't care about safety of fans, do they? Ritchorets, high angle shots... and then 2:31 happened.
The girl turns her head so as not to see the death of the pilot, but a few scenes before the guy already shoots many people in the audience and they were left watching.
Даже в старых аниме обоймы с боеприпасами меняли ....
It is hilarious nobody give a damn about the accidental massacre, they stay in their seats and continue to watch the duel.
He waited to be spotted before firing his rifle every time, only to be caught.
Silverfox is definitely a Zeon stooge. 🤣🤣
And thats why Gundam/MS pilots sit in the chest protected by thick armor.
what a plot armor, kira yamato would be proud LOL

Why didn't the man got crushed by the robot's hands ?
the portable jack, as he uses in the video if i remember correctly Mellowlink khew the past how Fox liked to finish infrantry as a show like that. Mellowlink even made him use a bunch of his ammo to make it more probable that to happen.
@@luizpaulo45 I see, that makes sense for the strategy. But he removed the portable jack afterwards, in order to use it offensively and pierce the robot's cockpit, right ? Why didn't the robot crush him at that exact moment ?
