Marvel Actors Physical Transformations For A Role

When you see superheroes such as Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor kicking butt on the big screen, there’s a ton of work that went in behind the scenes by the actors to achieve their hero body. Some MCU actors like Chris Pratt and Paul Rudd were far from ripped and muscular when they were cast in their respective roles. However, they put in the work to attain the fit and athletic bodies they sport on screen. This is no easy feat, as getting your body into peak shape is an incredibly difficult task. Sometimes it take’s over a year of strict dieting and workout plans to achieve their goals. And then years more maintaining this shape for future movies in the MCU. Luckily for them, they are provided with top of the line trainers and dieticians that help them along their journey. This definitely helps, but it’s still on the actors to apply themselves to the regimes assigned. Which actors had difficulties maintaining their diets?
Sometimes the trainers used by these actors are actually good friends with them, as is the case with Chris Hemsworth, who has known his trainer since he was four years old.
All those muscles aren’t just for show, and these actors have done some seriously impressive things. One of the Marvel stars can now push a 5,000 pound jeep. Do you think it’s Captain America or Captain Marvel who showcased this feat of strength?
Which actor do you think had the most impressive transformation?

  • I think Tom Holland is by far the fittest of all the actors in the MCU. His background is dance, and he's able to do all sorts of flips and jumps without actually needing wires for the realistic stuff. Most the actors get bulked up and are strong, but not like him.

    • I love that I found that out. Most men in dance or gymnastics are labeled as lame or gay. My son is 15 and loves theatre and show choir, very thin, and everyone thinks he's gay. Don't get me wrong, I told him it he was I wouldn't care one bit. But we just hate the stereotypes and shallow observations. Idk if Tom Holland is straight or gay, but it would be nice to talk about with my son. Gymnasts and dancers are just as much talented as sports figures. I hate that they get looked down upon because they happen to be male.

  • It's not easy to constantly transform your body... Well it's not easy to transform it once, but I think I have reached my goal. I started my own transformation about a year ago. I got a diet plan from Next Level Diet and started doing some exercises at home. My brother was making fun of me, thinking I will give up. But day after day, meal after meal, I managed to do it. I lost 90lbs thanks to my diet and dedication and I'm feeling a lot happier now. I can finally tie my shoelaces without holding my breath 😀

Gee what a coincidence? Think his friend is Rob McElhenney as I don't watch that show, did interviews where he teased he was taking steroid shots for his new body. Difference is that Rob eventually went back to his normal body while Kumail kept up the steroids.

  • I've been on a training journey myself. For the past two months, I've trained 5-6 times a week, for two hours a day. I'm not stopping, but the transformation is very satisfying. I went from having little to no muslce (kinda like Tom Holland in the thumbnail) to being very lean and decently built. If you're thinking about going on this journey, believe me, it's not easy, but anyone can do it. It takes motovation and hard work, but you can and you will.

Before anyone complains, I'm not saying hard work isn't also involved, but PEDs make a BIG difference in how the body looks, performs, and recovers. People also need to know of the long term consequences of PEDs. People need to know what they are seeing (and often aspiring to attain) often isn't just clean eating and discipline.

    • @@valeaves Ninjiani for sure abused roids. His friend from "Always Sunny from Philadelphia" is the dead giveaway. All the Chris's are suspect too. I'm suspect of Paul Rudd as well. Tom Holland might actually be natural considering what he can perform and he's in the right age range too. The only ones we can say for sure are nattys though are the women since their bodies are figures that can easily obtained naturally. Kind of funny too that a natty (Brie Larson) has demonstrated the most physical strength among the cast on camera. EDIT: I do agree though that at least Hemsworth we saw trained hard and we can see the results. Not like say WWE pre-2010s where tons of dudes had muscles bigger than the Chris's, but many of their physical abilities on camera were garbage ex they had terrible stamina, had issues performing lifts you think should've been easy for them, etc.

  • You may have asked yourself, "Once they're in such shape, why don't they just keep up with it once they hit their goal? Once you get there, maintaining is easier than starting over every time." True but, Unfortunately, actors have to change physiques for movies. Which is pretty sad that others dictate what kind of physique you have to have to be in a movie. There's such extremes at times. It can be dangerous, even. But, when you're a serious actor and, especially younger as most of them were when they started these roles, they're willing to make the sacrifice. Achieving that super, ripped, look with the abs is hell to achieve. The work is intense. So, kudos to all of them willing to make the sacrifices to entertain us. Being an actor's not all fun and games. And, we sure aren't complaining when we see them shirtless or, in tights. Kudos to all of them willing to make the sacrifices to entertain us. P.S. God, they are so right about the bland diet!

  • Seriously. Nobody gonna mention steroid use? Anyone that has been into fitness for just a little bit can tell most of these transformations are not achievable naturally. Its like saying the Rock is natural. Im not saying these transformations are not impressive, but acting like they are achievable naturally is just misleading, and makes natural results anybody might get seem disappointing. Not saying the actors are at fault, they probably wouldnt get the roles if they were open about PED use and theyve got inmense pressure to look like that, after all theyre supposed to be superheroes, I'd also lie about PED use if I made the millions they make in exchange, but don't get your hopes up. Real results take time, you're not gonna look like Kumail after 1 year of training, no matter how much chicken broccoli and rice you eat. If this interests anyone look up greg doucette, he has some good videos on the topic.

    • exactly... actors would always say Chicken Breast and Rice and Broccoli... training every week... which can be very misleading. Actors like Chris Hemsworth gaining bodybuilder's type of physique in under a year or two which would take a true natural athlete over 5 years... still they work hard but they really shouldn't be giving advices out of the blue

    • @@charlesludwig8672 never said he wasn't in good shape. My point was that before Thor he mostly had a lean physique (there's a pic that compares his 2009 and 2010 physique where the difference is huge)... if an average person with a lean physique were to go through the same process of transformation it would take them over 5 or so years to get a bodybuilder type of physique (even with good genetics it'll be terribly difficult to transform like Chris Hemsworth in under a year or so, naturally). Not trying to take anything away from his hardwork, he's a great actor... but i highly doubt he achieved this naturally

Actually Tom is still trying to prove himself but as an actor now as he's desperately been taking roles to prove he's more than just Spiderman.
