If Solomon is mocking the ants then why does he then ask God to make him grateful for the favours God has given him?
Solomon is in conversation as a king to a queen. Therefore, these are conversations that are not common between common citydwellers. I always regarded their conversations as if they were playing chess; "Who is smarter and a better King/Queen"? while they were challenging with each other in figuring it out. The Queen of Sheba would be the world best ruler next to the Prophetic King.
Wow, what a masterpiece in deception this old guy has come up with. Please read the story of Suleiman in The Quran by yourself and do not listen to him. I leave you with his response when he heard the ant. 27:19 So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants." For the so called academics, You can admit that the stories of the prophets in the Quran paint them in better light than the one in your own books, You do not have to come up with such mental gymnastics.
lol who do these disbelieving scholars think they are writing their bad commentary for? certainly not for the pious readers that engage with the Quran on a regular basis. It really adds nothing to their Quran other than Solomon bad while going against a explicit reading that calls Solomon an "extraordinary servant".
What a difference between how Muslims approach God from how the good doctor feels about God. How do we as beings of limited knowledge and understanding judge God? Do we hold ourselves as His equal or His superior? No. Ours is to do the best we can in our actions and have patience and thanks with what God does.
But in order to determine what God is, how His nature is, and what God represents you would need to use your intellect. If someone says “God commands us to raid a city and kill all its inhabitants and men, women, children and animals.” Or “God commanded this man to marry a child.” Sorry, but we must use reason and our assessment of morality and ethics through reason and logic and critical thought.

@@paulthomas281cope. It does. Also just so you know Oxford professors such as Christian theologian said that all Christian theologians around the world accept Muhammad as a prophet of God. I have sources of Christian theologians themselves saying this. And these aren’t idiots like yourself these are people who have studied religion deeply and historically. Reply back and il send you it
@@FreePallestine Saying that "accept as a prophet of god" is meaningless. What is a "prophet"? What is "god of Abraham"? It doesn't matter what this or that Christian "theologian" says, or what this or that Muslim "scholar" says. Abrahamic religions including Islam are piles of garbage. Sure there is poetry in the Hebrew Bible, and even, the Qur'an. But, again, who cares?

Man, i like all your videos, they are all eye openers. But i think your guest is mistaken talking about a (forbidden verse) no such a thing, you can hear the prayers in mecca and they plan their prayers to go through all the quran, especially in Ramadan, and there is no single verse is overlooked, everything is recited. His interpretation is forcing a view that is not supported from the material Is the traditional interpretation 100 correct? 😂you are reading the quran through lenses of Christianity. Sulayman. Didn’t mock the ant in fact he thank Allah for bestowing him with the نعمة of being able to understand all living things.
Its a story. The meaning depends on interpretation and everyone can make an interpretation according to how they can explain the story. This is not a christian lense but it is a normal exercise in textual criticism.

Yes I guess this is the way to read the Quran, asking questions, why GOD mentioned the story of the ant.
Solomon PBUH temper is also evident in the story of beheading horses after the parade because he loved it so much and it distracted him from prayers. He has unique piety style! But to say he mocked the ant weakness is way against the text, the Arabic language, the character of solomon and everything the Quran and prophethood are about.
If you want to know better about the messages in the Quran, you have to refer to what the prophet Muhammad PBUH and his companions and their followers said. You have no capacity to make shallow assumptions about our holy scripture.
If this scholar read the Talmud, he would have a much clearer picture where the story of solomon and the ant in the Quran originates from

Quran is recited aloud in Ramadan evening prayers, if the imam makes a mistake simply in vocalization, many many from the followers behind him would correct him, let alone he misses a complete verse on the instruction of Saudi Govt. Only a bogus scholar can make such a nonsense claim.

The discrepancies hes pointing out arise from mainstream muslim interpretation that the prophets were infallible beings whereas the Quran goes against that notion. Moses was given knowledge and wisdom but then he killed an Egyptian and asked for forgiveness. Balaam is also mentioned as one who was given knowledge of God's books but he essentially cast them aside. Solomon was a prophet but he wasnt infallible by any means. The doctrine of ismah is a ridiculous doctrine and this is coming from a Mumin who isnt part of the mainstream.
good! you seem to be using a critical-logical mind. next step is looking at "jews boasting about k1lling the Messiah"(no Jew would boast about that. God in the Quran is decisively on the side of His Prophets. Their 'isma (inerrancy) sets apart the Quranic view of Prophets from its biblical counterpart (see for example Quran 6:84-90). To read the Quran with a biblical understanding of prophethood is silly
The word ZaHaKa is used in a negative connotation (mocking) in several places in Quran. And yes, in the preceding ayahs, Suleman's speech does come off as boastful. Allah has said in a few places How He gave ayat to a certain someone and then he turned back on them. Also, Allah says in Quran that those who repent after going astray are forgiven. Allah also talks about mistakes by all his servants including the prophets.
