  • Lol, not that I would ever get there myself, you've made me famous by association with TPH! And yes, meters because I am a former Marine. I love shooting and it all started in boot camp shooting an M16A1 out to 500 meters for qual. Iron sights and a smudge pot (black soot applied to front sight post to remove shininess) which leads me to my interest in the scope on my 6ARC question, which I now have more questions about. I'll have to finish this later as I'm off to inventing, ha ha. Thanks for the info. PS I climbed cell towers for about a year, hence the video, but I'm back to inventing again...got new ideas, some of which are related to the 6ARC/AR platform.

  • Hey Wade, I wanted to see what your take is on Wilson Combat rifles and barrels? I purchased one of the custom Wilson Combat rifles in 6 ARC. I ended up getting their Tactical Hunter with an 18 inch barrel. I decided on 6 ARC mostly based off of your recommendation of the caliber. The gun didn’t work at first, but I believe that was because the tolerances were too tight. The spent cases were getting stuck in the chamber. After about 60 rounds, that problem remedied itself, and so far I have been getting sub MOA groups with Hornady factory ammo. Keep up the great work! P.S. I would also love to see you breakdown the 300 ham’r cartridge that Wilson Combat has developed. On paper it looks like one of the best AR calibers within 200 yards or so.

  • Awesome podcast.watched enough enough episodes to know you will take constructive criticism..The handguard should have mounting bolts on the bottom for cases where customer would remove handguard for cleaning.I realize the handguard fad is leaning towards bigger diameter and proof barrels use .875 gas block.there are quality handguards for this use case scenario. Also upper with forward assist moved forward example Vltor, bcm mark 2 upper I believe. All that said awesome package glad ur offering complete package.

  • I also watch the Social Regressive (Kyle) from Oklahoma. He got a CMMG, who seems to make the lion's share of 6 mm ARC. Put on his favorite accoutrement. His intention was to make it a truck gun. Good for everything from varmints to whitetail deer. Which is doable. I had a friend who was from Ok who did like legacy firearms and hunted with a black powder muzzleloader and smelted his own lead balls. And hunted on his aunt's 20 acres that seemed so attractive to old does, which he would harvest. Anyway, I like the idea of a 6 ARC. And as long as ammo is available, why not? It's not like the 6.8 Western that started out with high ideals, only to be left alone at the dance.

So far I've only shot pigs with the ttsx and it has been really effective in ear holes. Have taken her out to 750 on Hornady black and was able to get on target first shot. Hopefully going to get a chance on axis or WT this year. Coolest thing I've done with it was 5 shots as fast as I could on a 6" target at 380 yds all hits. My Dad's jaw dropped in surprise. More fun to me than anything AR I've messed with.

    • 6Arc is going on 4 years since release and a ton of factory rifles are chambered in it already. The struggle I was having is just the nature of gas guns, they can be picky. I did end up finding good loads, this rifle seems to like 80-87s a lot better. Which is fine cuz it’s really intended to be a coyote gun anyway in my use case. I’ve got loads for those going 2840-2900fps.
