Just realised that I can finally put all of my households in one lot and I'm so excited since I'm always switching between family households in the 'edit world'. Hopefully this pack allows for more households on one lot.

I hope we get to play as both the landlord and the tenant. While the concept is certainly interesting, I would definitely not want to have to be in charge of an entire building of tenants every time I wanted to play with the pack.

You can be a tenant if you wish to be. You can be a property owner and live amongst the tenants, a property owner and live somewhere else. Or just a tenant if you so wish. Since 2 of the 4 new aspirations focus around that, with one of them being a property owner and the other being a good tenant, since there’s a new fear of getting evicted. Also 5 new traits as well. Generous, Cringe, Child of the village, Nosy and the elder exclusive trait: Wise

This pack kinda makes city living feel redundant though… nothing really going for it now except the city world and karaoke.. since apartments have been added to other packs. And so have festivals

I have so many of these lots, that are not fun as they all just use the same space. It doesn't feel real. This will make all of those lots with many small houses, or town houses feel real, not to mention an apartment building. I have one that is not fun to play with as of now. This updates all of that.

It'll be really cool if you could make a building that's like shops on the bottom floor and a house on the top floor, and you get to buy the first and second floor of it so you also get a shop when you get the apartment. Kinda like in Open For Business.
I'm not sure if you're a pc player but if you are, there's a mod that will let you have a functional cafe or store on your home lot so you can do exactly that. There's Salabration

Other examples where I could see it being regularly used include an apartment which is small enough to get the Tiny Home Perks, or The haunted house lot type, or Mixed buildings like a Bowling alley that is also a restaurant and bar.

@@cheetopuff99_ I have a 13 inch macbook pro. I use it for gaming, school, work, illustration and 3d modeling projects, which all demand a lot of storage/utility. No problems so far, lol. Only drawback is that the majority of games don't have a mac version so it's a little limiting in that sense

I have been waiting for apartments for a long time (I tried to build several but they were not functional, of course) I love that there is hopscotch for the children and that we can have fights with the neighbors, that things break, that it is truly a community life! I love this pack, thank you very much for including it in the game ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Whoever directed this trailer really captured the charm and magic of some of the older sims games trailers. I'm already way too jaded on this franchise, but this trailer tempted me I can't lie
OMG! As someone who has lived with Thais, Laotians, and Cambodians for over a third of my life (in Australia), with a husband who is Lao, and have participated in a lot of cultural things with them (like going to the temple, celebrating holidays, etc) I am so happy to see South East Asia represented! This is really exciting!
I hope this means the base game update that will be happening with the pack release, involves fixing the family tree system!! There has to be a reason they keep bringing up the whole “how is Johnny Zest related to the Landgraab family?” thing lately.. a family tree rehaul is one of the most requested things I’ve seen over the years in sims groups etc, so it would make sense to make it make sense 😅😂🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

If you're playing on PC and you have the space for mods, I'd recommend the Live In Business mod by Little Ms Sam!! If you're unable to download mods, hopefully this pack will let you do that :)

The sims 2 apartment life was one of the best expansion packs back in the day so if this pack is similar it's gonna be amazing this is long over due
Yeah, but it wasn't perfect eather. There was and still having problem with it. I don't think they would be capable to realise this pack perfectly without any bugs in the first try. And there was not any gameplay showed it. That's a really bad sigh.

The Sims 2 was serve after serve. Despite its brilliant, TS3 didn't quite manage to meet the standards set by TS2. TS4? Don't expect anything! Jokes will be on you.

With the more recent packs they seem like add-ons to other packs rather than it's own thing(eg Horse Ranch was meant to be with Cottage Living and Growing Together and Parenthood was also meant to be together) and this one seems like an add-on to City Living. Edit:. When I say 'than its own thing' I mean EA had given us something like that before and it is much better quality(for a Sims 4 pack) and the cost is actually alright (as long it's on sale) and it just seems like they are getting lazy with their ideas and are reusing ones from older packs

No the only thing in common is landlords/apartments. This is shared space, the other has separate apartments available by a loading screen. Not the same. And just because Horses are animals doesn't mean they should have been added to the English Country side pack.

As someone born and raised in Southeast Asia (not Thailand though), this is something I *NEVER* expected would happen! Kudos to the SimGurus and the rest of the Sims team!
I hope they add the ability to also decided whether pets are allowed or not in the rentals. That would be cool. Like deciding if only small dogs, or only cats. Or no pets at all.

I never thought I'd see many Southeast asian things happen in the sim 😂 i recognize many things that relate with thai cultures, ex., like the spirit house (ศาลพระภูมิ) it's really weird yet exciting lol 😆 and you know? You’ve always been able to build your own apartments and townhouses. I’ve built a couple and had the doors set up where only certain people can go through so it’s like individual units

I saw things from Thailand, Vietnam, Malay Singapore etc. i thought we might only get a Thai Inspired world but this is a good southeast Asian representation. I've never been more excited! I already build apartment buildings as is and try to manipulate the game mechanics to make them somewhat functional (with locking doors), but it's not an authentic or smooth experience. It will be very satisfying if I'm able to use the lots I've already built.
As someone who frequently watches Thai shows, I immediately recognized the architecture and cultural vibes. Ive been waiting for an apartments expansion for so long! Just to be able to put different families on one lot makes me happy. Can't wait🤗

There's many things here we've had before - noisy neighbors and exotic foods from City Living and we have rental lots in Snowy Escape. Why couldn't they have been expanded upon in a pack revamp? I understand many players were looking to build/manage hotels too. I am kinda sceptical over the trailer's lack of content although I do appreciate South-east Asia getting recognised in-game.
Those rental lots are for vacations, this is you being able to buy all property in the game, but still doesn't feel like an EP, more like a GP
@@sandroribeiro7644 I get that rental lots are for vacations, but the whole idea about renting should be one expansion alone, not City Living, Snowy Escape and For Rent. All EPs feel like GPs. The last EP, Horse Ranch literally just came with horses, goats and nectar making.

I swear I can't understand you guys. Everyone always hates on TS4 implying the game is bad/sucks at gameplay mechanics but when there's a new update or expansion packs suddenly all the hate disappear for a moment and comes back after 2-3 months. It's funny as hell

i know this is mostly based on thailand, but as a SEAsian and a malay, i related to so many of the stuffs here especially the vibes of the kampung style houses and the marble games, and many more. representation is so important because i never expected to have SEA being apart of a pack, this is so so rare to see for me
We don't often see South East Asia represented in American media, but it's so exciting to finally see it in the Sims! It's not only sentimentally important to me (as my husband is Lao and I live with his mother, her Thai husband, his adult children, and a couple of other Thais) but the aesthetics of these countries' cultures and traditions are so beautiful - it's a lot of fun and it makes me happy to see them in a game! A lot of people who go to South East Asia really fall in love with the countries there. Their eyes light up and they get excited talking about it. In fact, my childhood friends (in Australia) went to Malaysia on a holiday over 20 years ago and never came back!

I am excited for the new elder aspiration as it is now, when my sims turns into an elder it’s like welp time to focus on someone else and let them die, they literally have nothing for them it’s like they forget that although they are old, they are still alive and still have goals

it's a new lot type so I'm pretty sure if you buy the pack you'll be able to build multi family lots in any world but it won't be a basegame update since that is the main feature of this pack

This pack reminds me of The Sims 2 DS where you're the landlord of the hotel. I actually really liked that game a lot, and I liked the alien dude store and rotating stock based on day/month/season, the scratchcards, card games, the variety of creatures in there (Bunyip, Jackalope, jellyfish, koi pond). This update looks pretty cool
Love the representation, so excited to see more of this SEA world ! hopefully, we get ANY African inspired dishes, furniture, world etc because there is a lack of African representation even adding afrobeats as a stereo option, anything honestly.

Super excited for this pack! I'm Filipino and while there's been several Filipino references in the Sims 4 already (the Filipino food stall in San Myushuno, the wooden spoon and fork wall decor from Island Living, and the Robles families in San Sequioa), I'm so thankful to have a SEA inspired world.
Very cool! I hope they do a West or East African pack next! I’ve never seen anything that represents African culture, dress, landscape, or food in the Sims. So I’m excited to see where the direction of this pack and future ones go!

This should have been part of the City Living expansion pack. That makes a lot more sense because that’s where the roots of apartment living lie. I think it will have more than 4. But I can see it only having around 10 if I am honest. Due to multiple families living on the same lot. I’m looking forward to editing other neighbourhoods. I can build and place some of these and move a few families in and free up some lots for other community lots I wanted to add without having to sacrifice how many families live in the world!
Dang, i expect at least 12 lots. If we can get 24 like windenburg that'll be awesome too. Definitely not 4 lots, that's too underwhelming
@@second_second_ yeah we definitely won’t get 24 lots ever again unfortunately, no other world since 2015 has had that many so it’s safe to say they won’t again. With the new lot type I just have a feeling they will shove slightly less than average lots into this world (9-10) if not then I expect the regular. 12-14 lots.

...this should have just been stuff added to city living. they should have just done a pack refresh and added these features to that and made these new cas and build mode items available in a stuff pack or kit. this location looks nice and all but i'd have been happy just being able to have apartments i could build myself in the locations we already have...

@@ForagedDahlia yes duh, the point is it's gameplay content that should have came with city living in the first place. it's basically apartments, except you're paying an expansion pack price to remove the loading screen in between neighbors. the trend nowadays is to upsell expansion packs with hardly a game pack's worth of gameplay, by padding it with cas, build items and a new world. look at horse ranch, it's abysmal.

townhouses are confirmed aswell. you can live in them w neighbors or you could own/run it and live on your own lot somewhere else
