I can't even get 3/4ths of the people I message to reply even once... let alone go on a date... and you're going all the way nearly every date and that's *bad*?" • @@orneryoverwatch7031 this is one of the real problems. Women don't understand that men will still have sex with women whom they have no actual romantic interest in. So they will hook some Chad one night when he is having an off day and then they will think that it means that they are a Stacy worthy of that Chad then refuse to settle into a real partnership with anything below that high watermark. This leads them to hold off and be noncommittal with men who are at their level, all the while the clock is ticking, next thing you know they hit the wall and spend the rest of their life sobbing into their lean cuisine and patting their 7 cats while tweeting about how amazing their life is and how they don't need no man. Or worse they get desperate and hook a man close to their level and then secretly resent him because they feel like they could have done better and it festers beneath the surface and turns the relationship toxic. I guess what I am saying is that technology has inverted the evolutionary utility of hypergamy.

  • In my twenties when I was dating, I went on a few tinder dates and was always sorely disappointed every single time, compatibility was just not the same in person than online. I met my husband first in person at friends house, we found out we were both on tinder- we wanted each others numbers but it was awkward asking for it in front of all our friends, so we had to sit across the room from each other looking for each other on tinder- i had to completely change my settings to find him, and when I saw his profile I would have NEVER swiped right EVER based on his profile (which was him being ironic and with his hilarious sense of humor- but seeing it at face value without knowing him I would have let my husband pass by without thinking). Tinder is not normal interaction, its not normal attraction, its doesn't indicate chemistry or values.

We had a really pleasant break up, no drama and happily went our own ways. So, a little while later I told a friend this and he said, "dude, do you know how lucky you were?" I said why? They're now spoiled, and expect the literal whole of society to simply fund their existence at literally anyone else's expense. Monogamy was dominant in hunter gathering societies when resource acquisition was low due to irregularities in nature, once agriculture showed up it turned into whoever collected the taxes became the Chad, but now that society has overcome many of the risk factors as to why men died young, we have a glut of males from the increased birth rate of males that balanced their increased risk of death. • This is one reason muslim women wear hijab. Muslim ppl believe it is protection for society/woman. As they cover their beauty it makes it more important for them to develop their personality, morals and intellect, to be defined by. This makes them plesent to talk to and hold real conversations around shared values, beliefs and long-term life goals that are also deep and transcend. It prevents ppl getting a superiority complex based on superficial trates, arrogance. Keeps ppl down to earth, modesty. It trys to prevent the "commercialisation/weaponising" of beauty. Helps to prevent insecurities trying to maintain unrealistic and unsustainable beauty standards, that are forever changing and expensive to uphold. This can cause mental issues in people and the sense of constant judgement from people that don't know or care about your long-term good. Peace x

The reason for this is that in their day, any man that wasn’t overweight and didn’t have anything obviously wrong with him was considered handsome. Ted Bundy was considered attractive in the 70s, today he’d be an incel. Its absolutely mind blowing how much easier dating was for men in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

    @johnwilliams655@johnwilliams655 Жыл бұрын
    • It was easier because women had less choices and less power. Today's women are the most empowered they've ever been. My grandmothers generation of women weren't expected to work. A successful woman was one that was married by 20 and had a lot of children . Her whole life was about giving but not receiving. She had to be attractive, a good cook and homemaker and agreeable to her husbands wants and needs. A woman's life was a supporting role without much character development because in the eyes of society it just didn't matter. A lot of women lived very unhappy lives. Today thankfully things are different. Women have more choices. They are more educated, marry much later, have kids much later, and some don't have kids at all and some never will marry. This generation is the first generation of women where they are not seen as outcasts for not getting married. All this have made men's choices more limited. So when the pool gets smaller there's more competition and yes it becomes harder. On the positive side , i think relationships today are better than before for both partners.

This anomaly was caused by the development of household appliances; washing machines, central heating, gas stoves reduced time spent running the household, and in the span of a few decades the higher class women had a few days to spare. So it made sense that women wanted to spend this time with a profession, volunteering, or a hobby. And what would have made sense even more, is that this would result in freedom of choice for women. There are good women out there looking for something real on the apps, but you honestly have to be sexually attractive, have a good job and have an attractive personality as well if you want to experience love and support from attractive women... @colbalt95@colbalt95 Жыл бұрын
    • @@colbalt95 not necessarily, monogomy does exist in nature outside of human culture. Also, polygomous societies also feel very much culturally enforced. For example, a royal harem is enforced by beliefs about the superiority of royals and is backed by violence. Hunter gatherers, the most “natural” form of humans were also mostly monogomous. If polygamy was the ultimate form, it would work better, but it doesn’t. It would really only work well in societies where males have a very high mortality rate. Polygamy is terrible for modern society because the top males have no reason to improve society, and the bottom males have no reason to support society. I actually know a lot of people who found spouses through online dating, but they all used Coffee Meets Bagel, which limits daily matches. Women can only match with 3 a day. That means they can only be picky between those three.

    • @@bigheadrhino Hunter Gatherers, which still exist in South America, are more "everybody has sex with everybody." This was probably the case during the Ice Age. The reason is to create a strong group dynamic, and to create paternal ambiguity. Nobody really knows who is the father of which child. This means, that if a man dies hunting, or a woman dies in childbirth, any of their children will still be taken care of, because nobody really knows who the father was.

Tried online dating, after only 3 matches with 984 likes of me, and 1 of those matches was a woman who wanted to do a study, 1 didnt really interact with me, and the other one was a one way street of conversation. After 2 weeks I just stopped chatting with her because she told me she is not interested. I also tried speed dating, but the 3 times I went there, the women just didnt appear, and the event had to be cancelled. That way I only spent the money once. And just interacting with women in reallife, they are simply not attracted and show no interest. I thought things would get better after I got my degree as engineer... Peace x

Love still need mutual attraction/feeling and you can’t control that. While during my parents’ time, men were judged by his ability to provide and his action. It’s because of women’s financial independance (women want a guy that she find attractive, someone that make her feels many emotions) and the 2nd biggest reason is SOCIAL MEDIA women want to brag about their boyfriends/husbands personal life on social media, if he isn’t approuved by family,friends, followers..........we feel dissapointed. Women want a man that can make other women jealous. He should be attractive, have a good job and financially successful (no debt). And he need to be above her financially. Dating app help a woman to filtre any men she doesn’t like physically by just not responding to them. Back in old days even she wasn’t attracted to him...he can make her change her mind through seduction. Now women judge men based on looks, his job and income. .....then personality (of course for those who have options Young, beautiful, educated and childless. • @@emmamusic4600 I think that most women prefer being approached in person. Of course, only by guys they find attractive lol. But I've been shot down plenty of times. I've also been successful plenty of times. I've even had women approach me in person plenty of times. But I'm not creepy in how I approach, and if a girl says no, then i leave it that. From my experience, as long as your respectful, then even if the woman isn't interested, then it's not a big deal. I've never had a woman flip out from me trying to approach in person. Guys always get mad at me for saying this, but the idea that a woman is going to try and get revenge on you for talking to her is just something that men who are too shy to approach in person use as an excuse to not talk to women. So they rely on the dating apps. And on dating apps, even average looking women want nothing to do with average looking men on those. Average looking men get their self esteem ruined, and average looking women (because they're only swiping on the very best looking men) often get played, and used for nothing more than sex. Dating apps are just bad all around in my opinion.

I was absolutely inundated with matches and messages right away. Over the next few years, I stayed in Southeast Asia, having amazing success on tinder in every country every time I used it. Then I came back to the UK in 2018, that's when I learned that Tinder is a different animal in the west. First, I was swiping NO way more than usual. With all the overly made-up, fat, duck faced trolls. But after getting zero matches, I just started swiping yes on everyone. I think I was in the UK for one month, and I got zero matches, not zero dates, zero matches. Then flew back to Thailand, the day I arrive I open tinder, start getting matches, and am on a date with an 8/10 that day. Who I ended up dating for a year after that.

Suddenly you weren’t just competing against the guy down the street, you were competing against every guy in the city for a girl’s attention. What’s worse is the same guys could be hitting up every girl but to the girl it just looks like a lot of guys want to be with her.
