That perfectly describes the people who run Star Wars for Disney. Yes, they may have won, but the kingdom they rule is a pale joke in the shadow of what Star Wars once was. So you have to ask yourself: did they really win anything?

Combination of timing/industry conditions (special effects were seen as gimmicks instead of story telling tools and were in the decline), good casting (Hamill, Fisher, and Ford performed well despite the shaky dialogue; helped that the characters were all well known archetypes so the actors can fill in where the script failed), Oscar winning editing team, and producers willing to say no to Lucas.

  • There is one "Star Wars without war" aspect I would find very interesting to explore, and that would be where it is not the two clear forces battling between good and evil, but rather two forces battling within the realm of the Republic. Maybe boring politics, yes - but wouldn't it be interesting to know what the Jedi knights would do when they're sent out as peace keepers to a conflict, but both sides committ war crimes? How would their very core deal with the situation and decision making, when the black and white world they're trained to view it as, is shattered around them in pure grey paint?

And I thought about it for a while and I was like... damn he's right. There are so many epic scenes, so many awesome lines in the original Star Wars that everybody knows. Since Disney purchased Lucas Film... there are literally only two lines that I remember from any of the movies or series... 1. which is just from the memes: "Somehow Palpatine returned" 2. "This is the way." That's it. So many years of "work" and that's the only two lines I remember. Says everything you need to know about this turd.

Even the original Star Wars (and prequels) reasoned that the power someone (or groups of someones) has has an affect on how their morality impacts the universe around it. Isn't just pretending power isn't important because everyone with power now is totally just a 'good guy' even MORE ideological a stance to take?

When all of the DEI hires and the woke writers are jettisoned from hollywood and GOOD WRITERS and people who understand the franchise like we did in the 90s and 00s are back in power, then people will like those things again.
