Well. Palpatine did make some good points. He said the sith embrace their emotions fully actualize themselves and their powers.
Often times in Shakespeare, you see the villains sort of winning… But then they become the victims of their own evil and destroy themselves. I quit pretty much after the original 3. It was lightning in a bottle. Combination of timing/industry conditions (special effects were seen as gimmicks instead of story telling tools and were in the decline), good casting (Hamill, Fisher, and Ford performed well despite the shaky dialogue; helped that the characters were all well known archetypes so the actors can fill in where the script failed), Oscar winning editing team, and producers willing to say no to Lucas.
There is one "Star Wars without war" aspect I would find very interesting to explore, and that would be where it is not the two clear forces battling between good and evil, but rather two forces battling within the realm of the Republic. Maybe boring politics, yes - but wouldn't it be interesting to know what the Jedi knights would do when they're sent out as peace keepers to a conflict, but both sides committ war crimes? How would their very core deal with the situation and decision making, when the black and white world they're trained to view it as, is shattered around them in pure grey paint?

“The bad guys are the underdogs”. This sums up and explains their ideology very nicely. Whoever has the most “power” IS the bad guy.
I believe that’s incorrect. Underdog is used to describe a competitor with little chance of winning, or a person with little status. Underdog isn’t a moral position. It’s entirely accurate and reasonable to say the Sith were the underdogs at that time, and doesn’t imply the Republic to be bad.
But they have the most power.
Marxist lens.
@@theworld6710 you have much to learn about postmodern neomarxism
Why is power *not* important, exactly? Even the original Star Wars (and prequels) reasoned that the power someone (or groups of someones) has has an affect on how their morality impacts the universe around it. Isn't just pretending power isn't important because everyone with power now is totally just a 'good guy' even MORE ideological a stance to take?
She literally admits that her working method is "fake it till you make it" and that she has no clue at all.
Haven't watched any star wars content since movie #8. Thank you for your sacrifice, Critical Drinker
I love how that woman just laughs and practically advises others to do the same: To sneak into the project by lying and exaggerating even if it - as she indicated - ruins or degrades it. Regardless of the fact that the project may be very important to someone. And at least some people have spent a lot of time and money on it.

That advise literally only works if you check boxes ✅ Does not work for us average white males who require 30 years experience and 5 PhDs for entry level jobs.
She "snuck in" on her knees
If someone cries in public while saying "star wars saved my life" 1)back away slowly 2) don't make eye contact and most importantly 3)don't engage !
One look at her tells you all you need to know about her "Star Wars" turd movie
Star wars was never a good franchise to begin with.. I'm glad to see this overrated piece of shitmeat die and desecrated ~ Just watch any series Japanese people are cooking atm. Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen, fucking Freiren ( Female great Protag show ), Tbh I Find Cyberpunk 2077 to be masterpiece in semi-realistic future setting and its narrative elements about Technology, survival with implants, what it actually means to be poor ( without having implants lol ), the politics where powerful ppl are actually powerful ( President Myers in phantom Liberty, Mr. HANDS or 4 eyed man in Edgerunners ) & none of those elements have nothing to do with "Omg my Dad was Darth Vader" like "Obi wan and Darth Vader were friends" & "Omg Quigon Jinn trained Obi wan kenobi and adopted Darth Vader as a youngling for Jedi" & "omg Palpatine who was killed by Darth Vader has a Daughter now.." & wait... "She claims herself to be a Skywalker like Darth Vader's grand daughter" ^^^^ Star wars entirety = One Person's family tree.. ?? Should've named "Family war amongst the stars" instead the worst franchise in history is dying with shitty agenda. I'm so glad.
If KZhead allowed images to be shared, my response would be Capt. Picard saying "Engage!"
Unless they worked developing missile technologies during Reagan administration. I bet a lot of people got rid of their mortgages thanks to that star wars.
“The Two Towers” actually did help turn my life around in a big way. But if I weepingly professed that on a stage to get attention and sell a trashy product, everyone would have a right to assume the worst.
Star Wars has been over for decades already; this ought to finish the franchise.
"I wear my sunglasses at night, so I can, so I can watch star wars deceased, then kill it's storylines" -the drinker, probably
Jodie Turner Smith's "Yas! Yas!" is just the perfect encapsulation of modern Star Wars somehow.
It's so bad.
As soon as I heard that I dismissed it as disposable lesbian garbage.
"Star Wars is very like patriarchal." Go to hell.
@@sjdrifter72 Which it so painfully obviously is (and nothing more).
It's like Poetry. It Rhymes.
"It's not about good or bad, it's about power!" and "This is a very personal story for me." Yep, that says it all
Before they were jed¡ and there was no light or dark side there was just the force.. balance, power, understanding.. there is no sides it all about the knowledge if the force. That the high republic. And we're going to get the most badass sith scene we've ever seen
Right on brother
@ShadestheMothman been watching star wars for 30 yrs. Read and discussed lots over the years. Couldn't stand him whinning about the universe. I know Disney sucks hairy rancor testicles but man I'm tired of ppl complaining about it. Either give it up and stop watching or quit b¡T(#ing about it. It's gonna be awesome to see the high republic
@@nathanhawee5373 I know I fully agree with you. Not to mention his points were just wrong the director in the clips he showed was just so obviously passionate and exited about the show she was creating. There was also his weird point about “show me a single white man in this singular frame of the show (contains a white man)”
Who did she "do" to land the job?
"There is no good or evil, Harry. There is... only power, and those too weak to seek it."
Sounds alot like, The Message. It's not about inclusivity, it's about superiority over others.
A nonsensical statement.
For me, I have accepted that Star Wars died a while ago. However, I will always love the original release I saw in the theater in 1977 as a rural kid who really identified with Luke gazing out at those setting suns. Disney can't take that away from me.
The real Star Wars will live on in the 6 movies, books, comics, games and excellent lore that existed before Disney in the expanded universe. That they can never take away
Same here, Amen ! Let's love star wars for what it was and let it go !
Speaking of "The Message" I have an ad in my feed, which is plainly being pushed uphill against the algorithm, paid for by Amnesty International, and it says this: "Take the inclusive language quiz today. Get your LGBTQIA+ Allyship Guide & take our quiz today." Between the image and this text, I thought is was maybe Drinker or Gary being sarcastic until I realized it was an real, actual add.
Gods above I saw that ad for the first time today...how much of this woke shiite are we expected to swallow?
@@ronhammond167 Did it not look like a parody at first? I honestly thought it was something from Drinker or someone like him at first. Maybe not Gary at Nerdrotic, because it didn't have the big yellow letters.
@@ronhammond167 I recently re-read 1984. It is very informative when looking at modern "socialists". I don't think they care if we swallow this or not - it's the blind endorsement from everyone within their own movement they are looking for. As for the rest of us - as long as they keep power away from us, they don't care what we think.
Amazing that I didn't even know about this coming out, only after 2 weeks later. And I was a star wars fan. Was, a long time ago..
"Star Wars is gone and is never coming back" It is DEFINITELY coming back. Every time I stick one of the DVD's in the player.
That’s not back.
Use the VCR, man. Get it right.
It only dies if you let it die.
Star Wars may be dead, but Dune seems to be back.
@@TheDalisama YES! I Love it!
The ending comment, accepting that Star Wars is gone forever, hits hard. I was 12 when Star Wars came out in 1977. It meant something to me.
High time you let go. It's necessary for your personal growth.
I was there in '77. The first time I experienced a sense of awe at the theaters.
Star Wars isnt gone. its the writers who wrote the best stories and games for it that are gone. Its the same for Marvel movies. When all of the DEI hires and the woke writers are jettisoned from hollywood and GOOD WRITERS and people who understand the franchise like we did in the 90s and 00s are back in power, then people will like those things again. When that happens, itll be like they never left. But that wont happen until Disney is a smoldering pile of garbage and everyone is let go and replaced. So you just have to buckle up and enjoy the good old stuff until they do.
Well, on the plus side, at least there's a more than worthy replacement in cinema's: Dune ... Villeneuve showing Disney how an epic sci-fi saga needs to be made to attract an audience.
Because you were 12....
Thank goodness for the Legends material. I'm currently reading The New Jedi Order Series. 😊
You say "thank goodness", for that pile of undiluted excrement, with it's sado-mazo aliens mmune to the Force?! Do you have your head on backwards? The EU was exactly as awful, as Disney Wars is.
Disney, put Ridley Scott in charge and it's granted that C3PO and R2D2 are the creators of the FORCE. Joke apart, I love the man and i bet That, if he had done a Star Wars movie, it would have Been great.
The villains would always have you believe its not about good or evil. To the villain, they're the same.
They're "misunderstood ".
"Close your eyes, what do you see?" "The Uruks turn northeast! They're taking the hobbits to Isengard!"
what did you say?
“Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to. That’s the only way to become what you were meant to be.” - Kyle Ren “One must let go of the past to hold on to the future.” - Clone Wars Season 4 Episode 14 Opening Text
They Kylo is the bad guy.
Try to imagine "Gone with the Wind XII - electric boogaloo" coming out in 1982. The idea that a franchise could push 50 years old is a sad reflection of the Gerentocracy. We are old and backward looking, having run out of ideas. This is a mercy killing.
I took my kids to Disney when they first bought Star Wars. We all loved it, and they were so excited to see the new Star Wars attractions. A couple of years later, we are just too ashamed to admit we ever liked it. In a gross generalization most women always wondered why men loved Star Wars so much, and now a couple of women made it so no one can answer that.
This is what women, certain "strange women" particularly, do to things beloved by men.
Sad to remember how much hope I had for Star Wars after Disney acquired it... Then again, I thought they would involve George Lucas in some way but keep him in check, but yeah Disney messed Star Wars up all by themselves.
We saw the idea that a nobody from the ass end of nowhere could, with a little hard work and training become someone capable of shaping the future of the galaxy, and defeat the evil that beset it. And look like badass while doing it. Sadly men aren't allowed to do that anymore, since only 90lb girls can be absolutely awesome, no training required.
@@SheyD78 plus, they would have periods and not be able to fight properly for a week or so. So I hate Hollywood and everything in it. As well as disney
I don't really think it's a problem of men or women. Disney's problem is, they hire people with no talent at all and no creativity to manage huge projects. The head of the company has no taste, and they hire people with no taste as well. They are an storytelling company that doesn't know anymore what is a tale.
