Cologne ? You mean ISTANBUL !
You have a couple of holes where you can put your sausage....
Was that spezi I saw on the counter there? In the US my favorite street food is really Mexican food.... street taco's, cabasa, lingua, al pastor. In Europe its brats or gyro's. All time favorite pom fritz with mayo and paprika.
I miss Germany 🇩🇪
We miss you too.
Me too. 🇩🇪
Go back?
Why?
@travelandliveingermany7295 well first I miss my family my mother is German I was born in Weiden from Grafenwhor I miss the food the people and traveling the train as a kid I was a teen boy last time I was there for 3 years so I miss the swimming pools if you know what I mean
*_MOOOOM!!!_* They're doing the reverse-eating shots again!
This is my cosy escape after a stressful day I'm addicted
Yay! Hope you have a wonderful and delicious weekend!
Brattenbrotchen is just unbelievable forget macs and kings ,this is the brotchen you want!
30 years ago, when I lived in Germany, gyros was everywhere. Are those still popular?
Gyros or Döner Kebap? Gyros is Greek food and you mostly find it in Greek restaurants.
We still have several greek Restaurants in every City. But they don't sell it often as street food. In Comparision to that you can get the turkish döner everywhere as street food. So it gets more popular than Gyros.
No sadly no, i love a good gyros Brötchen. But Döner took over.
yup :) but Falafel are on the rise aswell ;)
Love German street food. Last business trip to Frankfurt I ate my way down Kaiiserstrasse stall by stall. Delicious!
Also learned now what Imbiss means. Now i know. Thanks.
I was born in Germany...moved to Canada. I have been back several times. But every time I see German crusty buns I get a craving to go back...lol Thanks for reviving my memories.
Mmmm what is your favorite food in Canada?
@@DeanaandPhil Hi, First of all I am pleased to speak with you guys. I enjoy your show. To answer your question on my favourite food in Canada it depends on if is a home cooked meal. My grandmother made the best goulash with spaetzle and sauerkraut. My favorite dish going to a restaurant is steak neptune. But in reality, due to costs it's our favourite Chinese food or supreme pizza....both restaurants are nearby. Thanks for asking. Keep up the good work. Danke Schoen.
Why dont you open a German Bakery
@@DeanaandPhilmaple syrup with pancakes 🥞
@@Steven91637 I did...but now I'm retired...I'm 66 years old.... it's very hard to replicate bakery items at home when you are old...lol.
Thanks for showing street foods in Cologne.
For great falafel and kibbeh in Düsseldorf, try Byblos on Friedirchstr or Libanon on Bergerstr. Absolutely delicious
I planned to write exactly this 😅. Personally I prefer Byblos over Libanon, but both are good choices.
I have my favorite Falafel place in every german city :D
I live in Holland , at the border with Germany. I love german foods! Every few weeks we go to Germany to enjoy Germany and the foods. Love your content!
I need a partner to share food with when I travel. That falafel wrap looks really nice.
Glad you showed how international streetfood in Germany became. Bratwurst is not the only option.
Yes! As much as we love a good Bratwurst, we need variety in our lives!
But I must admit German Bratwurst is the Best
"I will enjoy this on the couch in my sweatpants." Lol, Deana. 😁
I miss germany too and I Iive here😂 in germany🤣
I love Köln and thank you for sharing the food!
I came for the interesting food and views from my home country (I live abroad), but I stayed because you two are fun, and of course for more Plush-Teddy content! 😛
Glad you stayed! 🐻
Oh no! You click baited us w/ a sausage roll photo. Shameful ;) You guys are awesome. Germany is such an amazing country. It is great to see its bounty being shared so broadly.
I thought in US we say Takeout...😉 Anyway super cute video - the food seems reasonably priced in Cologne. In California it is easily double!!! Thanks for sharing your food journey!
Great city, enjoyed visiting many times when I lived in Germany
Thanks for a very nice video about German city street food tour👍
Man you guys make Germany look like food heaven lol love you guys
I can tell you from experience that Berlin, Wittenberg and Munich are.
@@AnonYmous-uo6ib Württemberg? Yes, Baden has French influence (Flammkuchen as an example) and Württemberg -> Alemannic near Switzerland and Swabian influence.
Germany IS food heaven. It’s for me a big mystery we don’t have German restaurants in the Netherlands. (Tip for German business men and women, we basically have the same taste). We can go to the Italian, to a French restaurant, the Greek, the Chinees but not to the Duitser. If I really want to eat, Bourgondiës… I have to drive for 3 hours.
@@Raysboss302good joke xD Do u know why curry wurst have got invented? they wanted to get rid of the taste of bratwurst…
Just give me the German food it looked delicious. I'll also take that peach drink. I'm sitting here right now drinking my peach iced tea as usual. I would love to go to Europe for a year and eat my way through Germany, Austria and Poland and then head down to Italy. 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻🌹
Good plan!😂
Bonn has a similar street food rainbow , lots of kebab places and a tunnell which links the 3 areas of the hbf ( bus , train, tram ) which has many many yummy treats , if you happen to be passing its really worth a look .
You guys are great!!
I cannot wait to get back to Köln and try all of these places!!😍😊
… I am so hungry for a decent Brötchen… impossible to find in USA
I praise and value the Turkish influence in Germany, because my best takeaway food is Donner Kebab and also Shawarma.I was living in Holland and these items migrated from Germany to Holland at some point (60s?) . So good.
These are also the guest workers who actually go to work. Yes, Döner Kebab it’s nice.
I can listen to her talk about sausages for hours.
wow german street food looks awesome!
When you pointed at the "salad" at the Kani Teller, it's actually Taboulé, which is made from parsley, mint, cucumber and tomatoe :)
Great video! Looking beautiful Deana!
2. Café Especial / ältester Mexikaner in Deutschland 3.
We will have to try those places!
Love you guys! Leaving for Berlin in two weeks and you have helped me get ready👍Danke Schon!
They be “Cooking up a Storm” right over there… Glad, y’all 2 both enjoyed every bit of that… 😂😂🍽🍽
Hey... Da bekommt man gleich Lust was essen zu gehen.
The falafel tasche at the radschlager market in Düsseldorf is freshly made and excellent
Ever since I tried poutine, I eat that all the time. There are at least 4 Frittenwerk in Düsseldorf (Central Station, Bilk , Schadowstr. and Altstadt) that serve different poutine options. In Cologne I only know the one at the Central Station.
Go to Prague and try the Praguasausage there and look at what bread they use. It's the best.
Phil love your sunglasses where did you get them from please sir and keep up the great work it’s excellent 🎉🎉
Gotta go next year...
Used to love the frikadelle mit senf und brot when I was stationed in Detmold now I get them from Lidl but they aren't the same as from the Imbiss
I'd say Inbiss is more like Instant or express post. Means Fastfood anyhow. Wagen Imbiss turned out to be express service.
2:40 We have buns that look very similar in Texas called bolillos. They’re like 30¢ at the grocery store and great for tortas or any sandwich really!
I've had both they are both good but not exactly the same. Prefer brotchen but in US bolillos are the closest comparison.
Love the international food! 😝
Guys love your videos such a cool inspiration for us planning to move to Germany from Istanbul ❤ can you go and try Persian restaurant in Düsseldorf they have the best food
Reibekuchen mit kaltem Apfelmus ❤
We have so many liberian snackbars, restaurants at Düsseldorf, like Beirut with a bbq grill. Surch for this option
Great video! Do you bring leftovers home to enjoy later?
Vietnam and Thai Food is amazing
We had a roll with ham or something on It on Lufthansa - very simple but so delicious. Germany does it right, even on the plane!
For place like restaurant #3 (Asia Street Food), is it ok in Germany to byob (bring a can of beer bought from someplace else, like an Aldi, for example)?
You guys are cool thanks 🎉
Ein frisches Roggenbrötchen mit Kochschinken und Gouda Käse und Eisbergsalat mit Mayo.Einfach lecker
the reverse eating shots were a bit creepy but other than that a nice compilation of "German" food options
Döners were unheard of 30 years ago. Curry Wurst was the standard. Time changed (for the better?)
Döner it’s very popular here, I think there are now more kebab shops than people who offer currywurst, both of which are known and found to be delicious.
You definitely can get a good Falafel Dürüm in Düsseldorf.
How many dishes does the china box have? Just to compare the prizes to Denmark. In copenhagen there are 3 options. 3-5 dishes, and prize from 45-65 danish kroner(Divide with 7,5 to get a rough euro prize)
Oder ein frisches Roggenbrötchen mit Heringsfilet in Tomaten Creme Sauce.Einfach Lecker
That's not really street food since it's not from trucks or carts on the street. Our big cities like New York, Chicago and Los Angeles have carts or trucks that sell food on the streets. The difference is, you have to kind of find them if you know a specific one you want because they'll move around. I love New York and Chicago hot dogs. BTW, I love the way Phil opens his eyes wide when he's about to take a big bite.
the Dönerteller looks super expensive for so much salad and nearly no meat
If you ever visit the Netherlands again you need to try a kapsalon
Jetzt hab ich Hunger
Question for the Döner connoisseur :D What's the best Döner in Düsseldorf? Will be travelling there soon :) (By the way,, think that could be a fun challenge for you, finding the best in Germany (maybe apart from Berlin)
Haus des Döners. Excellent! Sehr lecker!
@@scottstovall4080which one? We have severals
Berlin has had the best Döner we've eaten in Germany!! Düsseldorf could definitely still improve, but Haus des Döners is the best in the city as far as consistency with red cabbage. Hope you have a wonderful visit in Düsseldorf! If you like gyros, Grill House 56 in Düsseldorf is delicious!
@@scottstovall4080 Danke!
@@DeanaandPhil Awesome, I'll check out both 😊
Never put your chopsticks in the food like that, it is for funerals in Japan.
Good thing they are not in Japan. 🤦🏻
Typically entire Asia, not restricted in Japan only.
Is Volkswagen currywurst still available in the street markets ?
Wow, Kani looks like a really good Dönerbude! I live in Bremen and most of this places are a mess. The Dönerbude next my apartment once sold my boyfriend moldy börek! :/
In Bremen you get really good Döner kismet for example. And im Vietel there some good ones too. Im Viertel you find really good burritos as well. So all in all besides Bratwurst, Bremen is not that bad 😉 i have not been there in the last 5 years. But it cant be that bad though
Where do you park in Cologne? On our way tomorrow
We sometimes take train. If we drive and need a central spot we look at the Contiparks near the Dom, but there are sometimes cheaper garages further out of the city.
I like all the food
Got hungry watching this.
Durstlöscher! Ah, the school days!
Do you eat hot or medium hot mustard with your bratwurst? I always eat the medium hot one.
We are going to Munich and we don’t eat any pork can u do a video on what type of foods and restaurants
Try, Käsespätzle, Chicken Schnitzel with Potato salad, Flammkuchen, German Potato Pancakes with Apple Sauce, Döner Kebab, Zwiebelrostbraten with Fried Potatos, or Rinderrouladen without Bacon, Maultaschen, Pastries like Krapfen, Apfelstrudel, Kaiserschmarrn and more, Black Forest Cake or others Cakes like Bee Sting or German Cheesecake. You can try also Bavarian or Swabian Pretzels, but need eat them fast otherwise they become hard.
But nothing beats a Thüringer Rostbratwurst mit Senf im Weizenbroetchen
❤
Hello Tomy from Germany 🇩🇪❤😊
frittiertes Seelachsfilet im Brötchen.mit Remoulade lecker
Was there around 1967. P
No sweets/desserts? Dang
I was always stunned when we went to our local pizza shoppe in Germany. Several of their pizzas were served with a sunny side up egg in the center. Something I’ve never seen in America. 😂
I wish I had a stomach as big as yours. My favourite "German foods" would be Döner/ Turkish kebab and Schnitzels. I can get that in Norway, but; If I'm ever back in Germany, the Eisbein with potatoes an kraut would be my first choice. Together with a glass of Riesling, it would be so satisfying :-)
Yes, Beer may be most popular though Germany has some wines too - from the mosel valley „Riesling“ or rhinehessen „Müller-Thurgau.
Any horse meat in koeln? Your videos are great.
You can get it in traditionally german Restaurants and butchers. Sauerbraten is usually made from horse meat
