Is Kuala Lumpur the most underrated city in South East Asia?
You all know KL + Selangor is multi-racial region yes with 3 main races Malay, Chinese and Indian?
Absolutely yes. KL and Malaysia are underrated and worths much more promotion.
Yes
Hi Deana & Phil, I love your videos! Malaysia is indeed a wonderful place for food lovers. I saw momos in your videos, would you be able to share the name of the nepali momo place?? I live in Malaysia and I would like to try them. Thanks!
Malaysia is such a vibe and we try to visit both KL and Penang at least once a year. Great vlog! Much love from Bonn 🫶
What a relief! You're eating great food in a clean environment and I'm not constantly thinking you might get food poisoning! You both look MUCH MORE relaxed!
We are! :)
Malaysia has set the standards for above ground walkways in Southeast Asia since the 1960's. All other Southeast Asian nations followed suit thereafter.
Great video promoting my beautiful country Malaysia. Thank you so much. Love from Kuala Lumpur.
Kuala Lumpur seems like a very nice city overall, I should visit it some day 😄 thank you Deana and Phil for yet another great video 😁 Just out of curiosity: what's your favourite dish you've had in Kuala Lumpur so far?
drop by sir, u r welcome
Very hard to say, because there is such a mix of cuisine. But I (Phil) really like the convenience and affordability of all the Shawarmas around. 😝
I went to KL last year and loved it. Thanks for the reminder about what a great place it is to visit!
Malaysia such a melting pot . Also when talking about food, it takes care the hygiene and cleanliness for a better experience. You will be surprised how easy your stomach aligned to malaysian food even the street food . Cause that's important thing to consider for travellers
Malaysia is food heaven of the world....❤❤❤
Deana, carrot cake is my ALL TIME favorite too and I love when it's packed with goodies like pineapple shreds and raisins! I'm happy you got your fix 🥕🤗
Hahaha you guys hilarious.. you both setting up a new trend ; eating carrot cake bought from the grocery in front of KLCC :) I am local and i would have do that someday 😄 Enjoy your stay !
It looks like a wonderful time in malaysia. You look extremely happy there. This is definitely your jam❤
Oh boy. 🤗😋🙂 They just really got everything nice and fried, doughs and their hearty dishes down for real. Some of the best food ever höhö.
Definitely a lot of really hearty stuff! 😁
Y’all 2 both, energy is what I love all because it’s Calm and Collective 😋🍽😋🍽
6:16 it is not chicken, is salted fish. You should have mix into the rice for more umami
Hahaha. When he took a big bite out of it, I was just shouting at the screen, "no, no, no!"..😂
Yahh.. crush and mix it in the pot before serving.
Lol. He never ask people. Yes salted fish goes into Claypot. In klang there is a ginger taste too.
That explains a lot! 😂
Same here, I was literally screamed NOOOOO! LOL!.. yes mixed it, mashed it and stir into the rice and mixed well. Once you eat it like that, you will find eating without it doesn't taste as good anymore haha
Thank you for revisiting malaysia. Malaysia truly asia.
You guys are supposed to mix in that small cube of salty fish into the claypot chicken rice to increase the flavours. It's an essential condiment for this dish. That place is a Michelin Star restaurant by the way. Lol😂
Just been in Bangkok for two days before heading to Germany and onwards. Kuala Lumpur for three days on our way back home to Aussie. Agree with you about BKK and walk ways and huge malls. Need it as it has been very hot.
Top 8 tallest building in Kuala Lumpur 1) Merdeka PNB 118 - 679 meters (second tallest building in the world) 2) The Exchange TRX 106 - 454 meters (one of the luxury and expensive mall in KL) 3) Pertronas Twin Towers - 452 meters (Tallest Twin Towers in the world) 4) KL tower - 421 meters 5) Oxley Tower - 346 meters 6) Four Seasons Hotel - 343 meters 7) Menara Telekom Tower (TM Tower) - 310 meters 8) 8 Conlay KL - 308 meters
Love the later part of the video! ❤
Thank you! A lot of effort in this one.
What a lovely video. Hope that you guys have had a good time and a pleasant stay with all your explorations especially with all kinds of food.
I am enjoying your KL visit way more than your India one. It looks infinitely cleaner and less crowded, and the food looks spectacular!
MOMOS yum.. Watching the previos INDIAN Diner.. you missed the SOUTH INDIAN Version.. Please revisit to SOUTH India Dears...
Wow!! I could definitely handle Malaysia (vs India)! Food, accommodation and vibe all looked fantastic 😎👍👍👍
For the clay pot chicken rice, the small piece of salted fish should be mixed first with the rice to give the rice some extra saltiness. That's how you enjoy it.
I felt my heart rate increase when you were on that glass box.
The small plate on the claypot is salted fish. You have smashed it and mix together with the rice for more flavors
I want to try one of those beef roti. That looks good.
The food looks wonderful, the city too. Though I am not usually someone who likes hanging out in the malls, the food choices and what they have there may change my mind. Thank you for a great video and sharing about Kuala Lumpur.
I have never seen better looking food. Wow!
Great and fun video, but I have to say I was surprised that you paid $23.00 each just to view the city from above, lol. Love street food and Kuala Lumpur looks like a great place for it. Thanks Deana and Phil! Safe travels!👍❤️
Yes, the entrance fee was definitely high compared to the general price level of the city.
Try to get out of kl for a day or two. ...you cn go into the hills for waterfalls, the beach, or rural kampung withing 45mins to 90 mins drive away frm the city center
I love KL!
Hi. Glad you guys enjoy visiting Malaysia...it truly is a lovely country. I was wondering if anyone was going to mention about the salted fish in the claypot chicken rice...and I see someone did. Anyways enjoyed your vlog ❤. Hope you will have many more happy/exciting memories in Malaysia 👍🏻💞
Phil is a kabob. Lol. 😁 16:06 mark: You would do better making your own carrot cake. It's so much more satisfying, especially since you can control all the ingredients and also customize it with your own personal additions. Great video! Thanks for sharing. 👍
I love Malaysia. Super diverse, super green, and has something for everyone. You just need to discover it beyond KL, not only within KL, which is a great city.
welcome back
You missed these one DEARS.. LAKSA Traditional DISH Of MALAY... and Char Kway Teow dashed with chilli oill top up with Bean sprouts & Pork extra... Rains flattered me.. South India is so Dry.. Cheers from #coimbatore #tamilnadu.
I love carrot cake really anything with cream cheese icing is delicious. I've had some fantastic carrot cake in the United States but I also had some bad carrot cake😂
Very cool. Thanks for showing those tall towers. I heard about KL having some of the tallest buildings in the world. Some time, I'd like to see a video of Phil trying out different potato dishes and having him rate them: fried, mashed, hash browns, roasted, galletes, etc. Does he like baked too?
Just a few minutes in and realized lots of countries do not do shawarma authentic, if you have a Palestinian/jordanian shawarma or go to a Palestinian area in NJ, the shawarmas have a lot more-they’re closer to doner kebobs, they usually have pickeled veggies and vegetables in it and a lot more flavor. The shawarmas I saw on the video were like the ones in Saudi which I hated. They just tasted like a bad version of garlic sauce and chicken. But I have to say, the one time I had doner kebob in Austria, I think I like it better than the traditional one I’m used to. I would need to taste side by side haha
Penang is of course the streetfood capital, you really do not have to go to a restaurant unless you want authentic Nonya cuisine, there are lots of hawker centres and local coffee shops that have streetfood if you do not want to eat on the street. Of course the Nasi Kandar in Penang is a must 'cause Nasi Kandar is originated from Penang. Then lastly you can also take a ferry to Langkawi from Penang. Have a nice holiday
2:30 Known among locals as "PSB - Petaling Street Boutique" 😄
Oh for the claypot rice, that small piece is actually salted fish, to be mixed with the rice and enjoyed 😁
The city looks amazing. Are Malaysians friendly?
come n drop by..experience yourself
Yes
Friendly af 😂
Yes friendly and humble. Malaysia is a beautiful destination to visit.
The kl tower is use for base jumping events (annual event)
Enjoy your adventure
The food is really cheap and it looks good even though I'm not into Asian food what I'm seeing their for the most part looks pretty good❤
What is the name of the hotel, and where is the location? What is the search engine you use for accommodation? Nice informative video.
March-April is not monsoon season, its dry season actually but sometimes it rains heavenly because the weather is unpredictable..monsoon season here is the end of the years n sometimes lasted until February.
Still 2 more towers to go. 1. Tower M 2. Tradewind tower
I don't agree with this. Money could be used to invest more in education and more sophisticated technologies/experiences in airports, ports and bus stops/stations
Yes....but these are ongoing projects since before covid, circa 2017/2018 i think...so they were half built, so had no choice to go on with it
@ashtriana1 not sure about tradewind tower, but klcc already built the foundation for tower m, just a matter of time.
Awesome apartment guys
Nxt, try roti boy. U can find 1 roti boy at the pavilion
That small dish is salted fish, you suppose to mix into the rice.
To correct the currency is not Rs which standing for Indian Rupees (INR), Malaysian currency is called RINGGIT or Malaysian Ringgit (MYR or RM). Other countries using the same name is Brunei (RB) which at the same time called as Brunei Dollar. Neighbouring country, Indonesian currency is RUPIAH (IDR or Rp)
25:00 wow!
Was Seattle's Space Needle on the famous towers image? We went up recently - it's 100$ per person to visit the glass-floored *rotating* deck. The glass walls are slanted with built-in benches so you can lean back against the wall and you feel like you're floating. Seattle finally finished its International Arrivals skywalk which was made to showcase the mountain, and as you're walking along, airplanes are taxi-ing (?) underneath the skywalk. It's so well done it's a pity they don't let random people in there for the view.
$100 pp to go on the Space Needle?! Is that US dollars?! It's been maybe 25 years since I went to the top of it but do recall they were doing some type of renovation as there was lots of construction near it when I last was visited Seattle about 5 years ago.
@@rureal7742 Sorry, I remembered 100 but that was for the two of us. Sorry!
@@LythaWausW thanks for responding, that's good to know. Still quite a high admission.
New York City or it's possibly North Jersey has a gigantic mall that has an indoor theme park and roller coaster and also has a ski slope with snow and an ice skating ring
Rad guys!
Can you put a link in the description for your accomodation?
I hv been to ICC. The dim sum is a bit disappointing though but the rest are great. I ate the roasted pork rice, really good.
That salted fish, you should mix it with rice to enjoy it
I've been to that clay pot restaurant before. They definitely had chickens in cages next to it in 2019.
Can you share where did you had the Nepali Momos? They looked really good
You forgot that beside malls, we have ikea malls too.
That small lil thing on the small plate in your claypot rice is actually salted fish! 😂 You just direct eaten half of it
OMzgosh..... that's a piece or salted fish......it is supposed ti go together with the rice...dump it into the rice and give the whole rich a thorough mix...then serve.... But be careful....there might be some bones in the salted fish...get it....
Thats salted fish to eat with the rice but take a bit at a time.
Welcome to kampung baru...
Video at 6:16 that piece of food is actually salted fish which you thought is part of the chicken. They should have told you bcs foreigners may not know how to eat this..
Phil, from the 5 kebabs, can you rank it for our reference? You are champion kebab man.
I'm eating Shwarma Reto while watching this, that's the best imho
Please go to Penang, Melaka, Langakwi, Perhantian and Kuching.
That is actually salted fish and you're supposed to add into the rice of the Claypot Chicken Rice to add more flavour and saltiness to it and not directly eat it hahaha
6:15 It looks like a chickenheart.
that's a chicken liver
No please read the other comments here. That's a chunk of salted fish that's supposed to be mixed into the Claypot rice to enhance it's umaminess.
Walking is Hot and sweaty. Locals will avoid that
That's salted fish is supposed to be eaten mixed in the claypot... nevertheless I hope you continue to enjoy your visit here in Malaysia
Looks like mullets are back in fashion 😮👍.
I estimated that apartment at 199$/night 😂
I thought so too! At least.
That's KL for you...everything costs less than you'd think 🙂
No.. it's just about 40$. It's so affordable in KL.
In MYR yes, approximately
Hello again 👋
Hi 👋🏻
not food related... Phil's hair looks way better now 🙂
Hi 👋🏻
Ohh no, you both went from India 😢 I had said twice I wanted to meet you in India 😂😂
That clay pot chicken rice seems dangerously saliva-inducing through the screen, lol. The separately cooked (?) and served organ meat looks like chicken spleen? EDIT: it's salty fish!
Nice hair cut Phil 🤔
Nice I'm going next week there.. But that room kinda meh.. Better spend more get something with swimming pole.
24:26 Did you miss this part where they were swimming in the pool??
I have great fear of heights I could never go into that Skybox. Phil should have sat there in the Skybox nude. That would have been a funny shot😂😂😂
Phil needs to go to a Barber Shop and get a haircut and Beard trim ! He's looking shaggy !!
Agee. Nice mullet, but not in style anymore.
It's ok...look shaggy and hungry. Befitting the storyline.. 😂
Lookouto like
I think the shawarma is ringgit 16 only.
Something went very wrong on the sound at about 06:00 minutes
Phil, are you alright, mate? You're looking kind of tired.
what up with the mullet
Don't know what you're talking about 😜
after Penang and Ipoh.... KL was quite bland
KL is not under-rated.. stop belittle Malaysia.. its one of the most visited city in ASEAN.. and those green patch you call a jungle are park land.. KL has some of the biggest park of any city.. you should visit it.. seriously..
😂😂😂
Why are you walking around barefooted. Aren't you afraid of picking up germs and bacteria and athlete's feet plus you're spreading your foot toe jam all over the room😂😂😂
Die Feinheiten der Asiatischen Cuisine, interessieren den Europäer, der in eurem Vlogs für die Majorität eurer zeichnet, nicht wirklich.
