When I was a kid, in the early 90s, we had so much more freedom than kids now. I was outside playing from sun up to sun down with my neighborhood friends. We only came home for meals. I think this type of play is what is missing in modern kids. But parents would be arrested for allowing their kids out now days.
I had a similar expereince. I lived in a neighborhood that was sort of built like this huge cul de sac and all of us would be out playing all day long. chasing each other with super soakers or water baloons, just being kids. nowadays you don't see that today. It's just not safe to do it anymore.
Perverts exists and will absolutely kidnap them. And with the fentanyl and massive amounts of gun deaths. You would be irresponsible to leave a kid by themselves out in the streets.
When I was little I got to experience this for a little bit but then one day my mom didn’t really let me go play outside anymore because there was a huge increase in kidnappings where I lived and in some other parts of the country

Tom wears his hair in pink braids all the time and he's whining about people that think they're women? Be real tom. You're just one of those ppl that live in the closet and hate the people that don't
Uhh which generation got their license at 14? Why is he acting like he has his shit together? He was a flat broke drug addict alcoholic until his music got popular. Hed be a totally lost cause ifv it didn't. Now all he does is pander to the far right while constantly whining about everything.
Every generation believes they’re the roughest, toughest, smartest generation while producing a failed generation lol.
Which is ironic since everyone is unique when it comes to personality, strength & character
This generation failed the hardest
Nah I told my gardening uncle I thought in 10 years I don't think there will be anymore good workers
Well I just worked from 7am & just got out now sooo. Not everyone is like you
But seriously though Baby boomers generation is the real culprit
Older generations complain about the new generation like they didn't help raise them😅
They didn't. He is talking to 14-20 year old's currently. Tom is 34. Doubt everybody in America is popping out babies at 14-20 years old as you just suggested.
@ElitexSniper they did unless you suggest these 14-20 year are raising themselves, if that's what you're suggesting, then that also falls on the older generation
@@elitexsniper4131you’d be surprised
@@elitexsniper4131 Ah yes, this man with so many advantages vs kids living today obviously makes such goid decisions. When I see face tattoos I think "so EMPLOYABLE". Obviously great at important decisions.
Just. Shut. Up. 🙃
That's a great one!!! 😅
Yeah sorry, gotta disagree here. I’m 20 years old. And yeah, I started working at 16 years old. Now I got 2 jobs, working without any weekends and some years even without a vacation. I live in Russia. For my views here I was two times arrested and had to stay 15 days each time in prison. I had several street fights protecting my younger siblings from bullies, immigrants, alcoholics and so called “military operation” vets. I provide for my family. I don’t recall ever being just a kid in my life. I was always at best an elder brother. I have to study hard because in other case I will be expelled and sent to serve at least 1 year in the army and nowadays it almost certainly means I will die after being sent to Donetsk or Kherson or any other Ukrainian city. And by the way half of my relatives are either Ukrainian or are living there right now. So sorry, I don’t have time to go for a drive or have fun shooting riffles. Because my family is so broke I have to give most of my income so that we can pay our debts. And yeah, I’m gen z, I’m 20 years old. I already have several chronic diseases and a broken spine which still after 4 years gives me hellish pain almost every day. And don’t think I’m some exception. That’s the biggest part of my generation. We just don’t have time to share our lives with others. Unlike those internet freaks. THIS is my generation. And next time you want to accuse us of something, remember this comment
“There are just too many purple-haired weirdos with 87,000 pronouns out there” - Tom MacDonald
Really shouldn't stereo type people for choice of hair colour , I have bright pink and purple hair , however I am the wrong side of 50 and agree with Tom with pretty much everything I have heard him say . Apart from this comment, if it was made by him . If I were to stereotype Tom I would suspect he is a criminal due to his "look" But I don't do that , I do not stereotype people based on their style , I judge people based on what they do and say . Actions speak far louder than any "fashion" choice they make .
@@mightymidas2021 That’s true, but the reason stereotypes exist is because they are often true. But I know this does not apply to you since I believe you when you say you are not like that.
@@thejedicounciloffical well thank you for that reply . As you say stereotypes exist for a reason , however that doesn't mean we should assume the stereo type just because it exists. I am Gen X , I was well into Punk and Goth as a teenager 😂 hence my hair colours 🤣
@@mightymidas2021 Yes, that’s a fair point.

Growing up we only had one TV in the house. I only had five channels. One or two phones in the house. No answering machine at first. We actually played outside all day. Only came in the house to eat and when it was too dark to see. We actually had to be with our friends if we wanted to talk to them. We had the human interaction that kids don't get anymore.
Growing up, we had 3 TV's, Why? TECHNOLOGICAL EVOLUTION. NO SHIT WE HAVE MORE TV'S. ITS LIKE ASKING SOMEOMNE FROM THE 1920S, do you have a car, and the playing outside part, pisses me off. we play outside, you never heard of school?
i really miss those times
The loss of social skills is obvious and worsening. Drug use is worse than in the 60s and 70s. I don’t know if mental health is generally deteriorating, or if it’s just more prevalent because ill people are no longer treated in institutions. How many people do incredibly stupid things a) because they’re told not to, or b) just to get a video posted?

Well the real truth lies in who raised us lol
My generation is old enough to be this delusional blowhards parents. He is making this bullspit up (except the thing he said he did to his sister.)
As a tom fan, a Republican and a part of Tom's generation....I respectfully call BULLSHEEEET on this. Kids today HAVE to live with their parents until 35 bc if they're paying rent, they will NEVER be able to save enough for a house in their lifetime. These data points have already been proven empirically.... It's like denying gravity exists after falling down every single day for the past 10 years. SOME older millennials, all of Gen x and older have proven to be INCREDIBLY terrible in two key areas..... Math and data processing
AMEN TO THAT 👍 this world is not upside down = it more ridiculous than Alice in Wonderland. Sometimes when certain people talk, you don’t know if they are joking or mentally insane! The first time a person started talking to me & using “us/our”, I kept looking around for the “other” person!!!! Thought she had schizophrenia! A rainbow before was just beautiful! Now you see a rainbow, you need to start walking on eggshells & be careful what stupid pronouns you use or you might just get beaten, stabbed or shouted at as if “YOU ARE the racist nutcase”!!!!! This world needs more RATIONAL psychiatrists!
As a kid my mother would literally have to drag me inside the house because she thought I was obsessed with being outside and exercising and nowadays you've got parents who try to get their kids who are addicted on their phones to be active outside
I know it. When I was a kid I had the heavy metal tonka equipment and I played with those same 8 or 9 toys outside moving dirt around and being a kid. Now I'm grown and I do it with caterpillar equipment. So, I guess not much has changed. I found something I loved and I do it. If my mom had gotten me a cell phone at 8 years old and kept me indoors who knows where I'd be... Probably protesting free speech or something lol
Maybe its because im from Poland, but until i was 12 or so i would spend whole days in forest with my cousins building damn forts from what we could find. Or just walking around goofing. We were kinda a nightmare to local forester i bet. We would spend so much time here that my mom always had to call me so i could atleast eat something. Would often come back at 8pm. Kinda slowed down on it at 15, and now i got 18 years and dont do it all, but yeah, i think that "zoomers" arent yet that badly in that situation, i believe most of them did touched grass sometimes. It is bad with gen alpha tho
What reasons can you think of that makes kids today want to stay inside?
Me too. I stayed outside so much and did not listen to my Mom's angry voice calling me to come home.
There's a thing called " Times are changing" how you hang out with friends is different from how we hang out with friends

Yeah, that's called fatherless behavior

@@johnrife7134 always "noticed"
That’s not necessarily true, just because both parents are there and gave you a good upbringing that doesn’t always mean that their offspring do well. Just like how if you grew up in an negligent household you don’t always turn out to be a complete failure. There are more factors at work here that will decide how a person ends up.
Tom is totally the definition of ‘and look I have turned out fine’ 😂
Yet the woke look more like an indigenous tribe discovered with pink and purple hair that are into cannibalism.
