  • When we were living in Pakistan, we bought one of these locally made washing machines. They were cheap, durable, strong and also cheap to maintain and fix. The only thing strange about them that I can remember was that when you started it in one corner of the backyard (obviously no plumbing in the house), you'd find the machine on the other side. It walked around on its own terms😄😄😄

And I have owned Western Made Amana Brand, Whirlpool, Maytag Brand washing machines, these Pakistani Washing Machines, although may not have many complex features, but last longer then a whirlpool, or Amana Brand American Washing machines, which I have owned.

  • Seems more like a back yard shed than a factory and I did have a chuckle at the old cardboard boxes cut up and used for packing around the bowl. The use of old fence pallings to mount the motor was “interesting” but, I love the way every part is made locally and nothing is made in China. We in the west could learn from that and unlike western appliances these machines are probably affordable to the average family in Pakistan. Well done guys, you should be proud of yourselves. Why does every machine have one odd caster? Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺

    • Yes, this one should cost around $25-$30, maybe even less. High-end machines locally made are around $400-$500. Smart are around $800-$1,000. An average family would buy a machine that's around $80-$100.

    • Hello from the US! I have been working in manufacturing here in the US for almost 40yrs and I can tell you first hand that this is common in manufacturing, even here as recently as 25yrs ago. I work for one of the big three Heating and Air conditioning manufacturers and when I first started in 1986 things were very similar right down to the blisters and cuts on workers hands. Its all part of working with sheet metal. Installing hardware (Nuts/bolts) was very similar for us then with the difference of air tools rather than electric which are more forgiving to use. Their product doesn't look up to "western" Standards, but I can guaranty you the workers are happy to have these jobs, and the family's who purchase these machines are glad to have them. 20-30yrs from now these guys will be putting satellites in space. Be blessed.

I was shocked at how they just slap this together with some wood blocks, sheet metal and some eyeballed holes drilled to mount the electronics. You need only to look in the frige , which you do at least 3 times a day every day.it to know this. Hey You are too stupid and lazy to look in the frige to see if you need grocery's. They break after a year and cost as much to fix than buy. Why does a washing machine need a computer? I bought a used generic washer and dryer for 60 dollars for each one in 1997 you know ,spin the knob dump soap and clothes and let er rip. I am still using them in 2022. Needless complication over priced. I have the most basic fridge with icemaker 12 yrs old runs like a champ. Appliance makers don't care what you want that is what you will buy because reasons and you have no choice. I bet those washers are not too bad. I would but it if i could get a diy version. I like putting things together.
