Downplaying usyks achievements at every opportunity. Amateur world champ, Olympic gold, undisputed cruiserweight and if he wins undisputed heavyweight, beating aj and fury within 6 fights. How would he not be an all time great?
Well, to be fair if he does do that then he can start to be spoken about like that, and if he can replicate that same success for the next 6 fights after that, then he will be an all time great. Everyone is just too keen to start throwing labels around. The greats have legacies of 10+ defences, no one in the division is there yet so let's not start creating shortcuts to greatness. The greats don't just win a fight to get to the top, they also stay there for years. That's what makes them great.
@@blaizecunningham6080 amateur world champ , Olympic gold , pro - unified heavyweight champ all in around 19 fights haha bloke is class
@@blaizecunningham6080 His most starstruck fans are trying to get around his lowly 22 fights (only 5 in the last 5 years) by including his 350 amateur fights.
@@dazg7405 totally agree. But 19 fights does not equate to greatness. There's no one in the heavyweight division that has the resume to be considered great just yet. They are good, they are the best right now, but they are not all time greats, any of them. There is this desperate need to crown an "all time great" the heavyweight division from this era that is currently boxing, the problem is because of ego, poor business practices and outright greed, it's slim pickings coz no one is there yet and all of them are half a dozen fights away from even being considered somewhat great, let alone "all time". Usyk at least has a track record of just going out and doing it, so if any of those guys can get to 10+ successful defences against the best out there right now, it's him. But he's not there yet. 3 heavyweight title fights is miles away, Tyson is double that and he's nowhere near either. It's not about the number, it's about accepting and then winning the fights. All of the greats turned up, they didn't just talk about fights that never happen and they don't win one fight and become the best, it's about consistency across years of top flight competition. None of of them are there yet, and if you were honest you'd agree that being "good" is not enough. These are just facts. I'm sorry to say that this generation if heavyweights doesn't have a great yet. It's almost insulting to suggest there is a great here, usyk is a very good fighter but it's the record that is lacking. Years more at the top, and at least another 6 fights. There's definitely still fights out there for him, and as long as that's true he can't be considered great and that is just a cold hard fact.
@@blaizecunningham6080 to be great you need great dance partners true , but I’m telling ya you haven’t even seen the best of this fella , I’m my opinion he turned pro 3 yrs late , he’s got the best lead hand I have ever seen in boxing it’s unreal , footwork that would stand up in any generation , question for you would you say Tyson was a great considering how weak the heavyweight division was in his time ?
Usyk is an inch shorter than Ngannou. Did Ngannou look like a midget next to Fury? I think people will be surprised that the size difference won’t be as big as they imagine.

Fury has zero footwork , constantly off balance and crossing his feet then some people call that great movement. He has a size advantage that is quite clear but as AJ showed thats not everything. To say AJ isn't a top heavyweight is just ridiculous these pundits will say anything to validate their opinion then flip it the following week. Anyone saying this is a clear win either way is totally deluded , based on current form Usyk wins , based on their heavyweight record Fury wins ... personally i favour Usyk as a person and for the win
You're in for a shock
@t.d6379 whys that , did you read what I wrote ? I believe either of them have the ability to win this . I'm happy to listen to whatever bit of my statement is factually inaccurate?
@@JamieVauxnut1 0 footwork remark, absolutely deluded, one of the worst takes I've seen this year. Watch his footwork on the 18th!
@t.d6379 well that's a little hard to watch right now I can only judge his footwork on every other fight that is possible to watch . Most of his fights he gets away with being off balance as he's so rangey and able to control the fight at distance with his double jabs and long looping shots , never the less he's off balance and at times falling around out of control to an extent. The only time that improves slightly is when he trained with SH and had to learn to plant his feet and throw a solid combination, moving across the ring hes still wobbling around all over the place . The same can be said for his so called head movement which adds to the problem as shown in the first wilder fight . He doesn't have the ability to control an opponent purely with footwork he relies on man handling his opponents into position . Some people also say hes fast ... breaking news hes not , hes fast for such a long limbed fighter but not fast compared to smaller lighter men . If he makes improvements for the upcoming fight then great he has it in him physically I'm sure but mentally unstable which effects training and performance as proven in recent fights .Like I said I wouldn't be surprised if either man wins but I'm siding with consistency nothing more , I'm a boxing fan not a fanboy or a hater ...
Tyson Fury can have amazing footwork and is a great boxer. We just haven't seen that from him for a long time. People put him on a pedestal after he beat a guy (Wilder) who never really fought anyone great. Every wilder opponent would have been demolished by a 'Just good' British or other European heavyweight
I think they are pinning too much on Fury's size, and crucially they ignore one of Usyk's less talked about assets - his relentless, intense work rate which he can maintain for 12 rounds. Fury likes to occasionally step back and take his foot off the gas between feints and flurries of punches; he will not have that luxury this time. He likes to vary the pace, so being forced to maintain Usyk's pace, with Usyk's speed and accuracy, may unsettle him and give Usyk the opportunity to land scoring punches. They both have great physical stamina, but Usyk also wears down opponents mentally. A lot of excuses have been made for Fury's poor showing vs Ngannou, but in this latest press conference he again insists that he trained hard and was well prepared for that fight; if he didn't have the constant focus and relexes to avoid Ngannou's punches, he will be in trouble with Usyk. Theytalk about Usyk as though he was 5'8" but he is a very solid 6'3" and deceptively strong (he was pshing Joshua back at one point.) He is also very slipery and agile. I do not think that Fury will have much success with trying to lean ont him and may get punished on the break. I'm not dissing Fury, he's a great fighter even though his two big challenges (Klitschko and Wilder I) have been padded out with lesser opponents. But I think a lot of people still don't seem to understand Usyk.
Fury doing a lot of talking, not a lot of fighting.
Its been awhile since Tyson has had a proper heavyweight fight
@@clives344 Let alone a fighter like Usyk... Fury will pull out through injury or lose badly!!

Going on size…Fury should win. Going on size. Going on everything else I don’t give Fury a chance. If Fury was Usyk’s size then he’d have no chance. So if Fury wins to me it’s coz he’s bigger. So really…if he loses it’s incredibly embarrassing for him.
100 percent.
Can't disagree with that.
Completely agree. He is only better when it comes to size. Usyk is as good if not better in all other areas.
Right! I always said if Fury was “average” size HW, say around 6’3; I doubt anyone would even know his name. His size is just about his only asset.
The trouble is that many Usyk fans are contradicting themselves on this whole size difference nonsense. First they say the size difference is irrelevant (Usyk is the same size as Ali, an inch shorter than Ngannou blah blah blah) but then they contradict this by saying the only advantage Tyson has is his size. So do you guys think the size difference is important or not?
I think Usyk will school Fury. I think Usyk's ring IQ is superior to Fury's. One cannot say that Anthony Joshua has a low ring IQ or that he's not a heavyweight. I think Usyk will win and Fury will eat all his words and, sadly, there will be a rematch clause. The match I want to see is Usyk vs Sanchez. Now that's a cracker of a fight...
Jim embarrasing himself not knowing Tyson wasnt the undisputed champion, he beat Berbick for the WBC, Bonecrusher Smith for the WBA and then Tony Tucker for the IBF. The last heavyweight to do it from 1 to 3 in the 3belt era, the WBO was but a stepchild n barely recognised in the US til probably Bernard Hopkins unified the middleweight belts in 2004, IBF in 95, WBC/WBA in 01 and finally the WBO IN O4. Usyk took the majority of the belts from AJ in 21 n Fury the WBC from Wilder in 2020 just b4 lockdown.

Let ne say something on size for a 2nd because its so missed judged by boxing fans and pundits. = when a smaller guy is boxing a bigger guy then what he has to do is uses his feet and speed and low center of gravity to take away the hight and reach as the bigger will be slower. Most of the time so if its a boxing match and the bigger just cant pin the smaller guy then it just gets to difficult. The lack of knowledge form spencer being a former boxer on the game amazes me Tyson was never undisputed, the only heavyweight who did was Lewis and he never technically did it as he was stripped before the fight

Why does everyone keep saying Furys legs have gone ? He changed styles to beat Wilder and it looks like he's now going back to his slim on your toes for 12 rounds style to me. He'll have to use abit of everything in his locker to beat Usyk. Keeping it a distance with his jab and then going to his body every chance he gets. Usyk is gonna run tho Fury will have to be at his fittest.
I think Fury is aware that Usyk is the one guy that can beat him! In watching whenever they have met, Fury appears unnerved to me, by Usyks lack of response to his antics. That Fury looks exceptionally fit amd ready tomfoght now….may weeks before the actual fight is a warning sign for him! He knows that danger and has over prepared! Usyk will beat him and take thentitles when they meet…..if they meet.
Yes Spencer - Usyk, who has never been knocked down in his professional career looks fragile because he was hurt by an illegal shot in his last fight. But Tyson Fury, who's been down 7 times in his career, including in his last fight against a man with zero professional boxing matches does not apparently. Absolute rubbish.
I disagree Holyfield beat Riddick Bowe and Holyfield won the second Lennox Lewis fight but he didn't get the decision because of the controversy of the first fight.Holyfield said he went into the first Lennox Lewis fight suffering from stomach issues,if what happened in the second fight with Lewis happened in the first fight I believe Holyfield would have got the decision
I agree with you 100% about Lewis 2. Vegas judges tried to “correct” the judges in NYC.
Its a 50/50 fight I think, but talksport arent the ones to listen to as they just hype up fury all the time. Usyk seems like an afterthought to these ppl. Depends who can execute their best assets the best and take control of fight. Fury would have to use his size to try and get close to usyk and corner him in ring , to try and stop him moving. Usyk will use his fast footwork to evade shots and set up punches. Gonna be an interesting fight, if it happens. Might go down to a points win either way. Who knows with Fury, he might still find a way to pull out of fight.
I do agree with theres weight classes for a resson but people act like Usyk wasnt a huge cruiserweight. He had to cut weight to get down to cruiser and he only did that bcus he had a dream of copying holyfield and being undisputed in two divisions, he could have easily been a heavyweight from the start of his pro career like he was for 200+ of his 350 amateur fights , david haye, hokyfield, nelseon were all aversge size cruiserweights and small heavyweights, Usyk almost 6'4 and hes 16 stone, that aint that small for a heavyweight. He could add fat to his body and be the same size as dillion whyte, chisora, parker ect, difference is hes lean muscle with no fat at all, to me Usyk isnt a small heavyweight, hes a normal sized heavyweight thats in better condition than most the guys around him who weight more because they all carry more fat than him. When he stands kpposute fury the size difference isnt that much the top of usyks head comes up to furys eyebrows. The more people talk about the size difference the worse its gns look for fury when/if he loses.
Too much is being made of this height difference, as even if it is 6" that is pretty much the height of a persons forehead. None the less, Usyk is on the smaller side for a modern heavyweight.
First thing bellew said to radio 5 live in his interview after been ko'd by usyk was you dont realise how big he is until you're in the ring with him. Russ abner said before usyk went to heavyweight that people shouldn't be asking if he is big enough but question how tf he made cruiserweight. Usyk is a unit and in the face off when fury tried to get rough it was fury who got pushed about. Nobody has ever pushed usyk about in a clinch he has always pushed them about, not AJ not chisora, not gassiev nobody and fury wont either
@@davidmccann9811 weight wise hes a stoje lighter than most, but height wise hes the aversge size heavyweight, as big as Ruiz, Pulev, Povetkin, Parker, Chisora, Dubois ect just not as big as the giant heavyweights like Fury and AJ
Fury is not 6 feet 9 inches tall. When you see him in a group gym photo with other big guys, look at his feet. He is on his toes making him look taller. These photos are out there if you look for them. He lies about everything in his life then contradicts that lie with another one a week later
💯 I met Fury a number of years ago at a theatre in the West End and I’m 6’6 and stood in front of Fury…he’s 6’8 max and I suspect slightly shorter than that. Defo over 6’6 since I had a look up only slightly.
Wilder is deffo 6"7 and fury was taller you goon wtf??
They are so dismissive of Usyk.
Tyson trying to convince himself usyk weight is a game changer.. The cruiserweight gonna stick and move, Tyson will fall over his feet come fight night
Talk sport are trying to get back in Furys good books here😂 and Jim really embarrassed himself with the Mike Tyson knowledge there..
the fragile argument fury has been down 7 times in his career at heavyweight, USYK hasnt been down once yet. If anything its fury who looks more vulnerable and easy to hit.
Yes but Fury has had 34 fights at heavyweight, Usyk has only had 6 and you're much more likely to get knocked down in the heavyweight division simply by the fact they're bigger punchers.

@@mikestray76 Brother, one of the guys in those 7 knockdowns is Steve Cunningham - a Cruiserweight with a significantly worse knockout rate than Usyk. Fury just gets hit a lot more than Usyk does which is why he's been down a bunch of times.
The disrespect that Simon shows Usyk is unreal. No acknowledgement of what he achieved, it's all TYSON TYSON TYSON. You're going to look silly on May 18th... and I say that as someone who wants us to have British Champions. Fury is going to be shown to be all talk.
Simon really doesn't know boxing " if fury turns up like he did against wilder hell beat usyk" ...Jesus that's bad, wilders not in the same galaxy as usyk skill wise
Fury conveniently ignores the fact that Holyfield also beat Mike Tyson, a legendary natural heavyweight who he's named after. History will repeat when Fury loses to Usyk
Will you give fury credit if he wins and admit you were wrong?
I still have my doubts about this fight actually happening.
Can’t compare Joshua with these two, levels below from a boxing perspective. I expect a good fight, Fury needs to rough him up early on so he is gased in the later rounds if he doesn’t spark him. I will say Fury puts Usyk out in 8 it also gives him a full body workout lol. Forget the FN fight, that means nothing. Tyson just tried to trade bombs with him. Cmon TF ✊
Yeah, he's already been undisputed cruiserweight. Had 335 amateur fights.
Could be a draw.
Bowe beat Holyfield twice and only lost once via MD.
Jim hasn't got a clue what he's on about
Why is it always about how good fury used to be and never about how he actually performs. Nobody else gets this luxury
AJ can’t be arsed with Tyson anymore, that non fight will not define his legacy l.
Aj too busy fighting low ranked opponents
Holyfield Lewis bowe would have beat tyson fury
i'd have to go with Usyk if the judging is fair, i think he will outwork him and win on points.
Fury size and reach advantage will tilt fight in his favour
Thank you Alex
Fury did the press conference to build confidence in himself there was no point of doing a presser 1 month before the fight, Fury is a broken man he'll find no answers on the fight night!
To say usyk isn't an all-time great if he becomes an undefeated, undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion is just stupid
Can’t wait for Usyk to beat Tyson comfortably and put these back in their box
