  • I think 10,000 subscribers is the perfect time to change your focus. And frankly a growing channel should be one that reflects the channel creator, rather than just one particular theme, specifically if the channel is not a video-essay or theme based channel.

There are world and European championships and the Champions League, like in football. Is one of the fastest ball sports ever. Have you ever seen a game on TV? Incredibly exciting and fascinating!

  • Yay, 10k. Congrats! We definitely love Handball, it's a sport played in lots of cities, which are small (like 30k) and you have a premier league team. Also the fans are very great, no big scandals, no demolition of trains, etc. The Final4 always has 4 fan blocks in one arena and if your team isn't playing, you're shouting for the ones that are. In January 2024 will the european championship be in Germany. This year was also very big for basketball and field hockey (world champions, men teams)

    • Yes, you are right. He is so open and authentic. I have thought a lot about different types of people, and why they are the way they are. There are extremes on continuums. As well as authenticity, I have thought a lot about compassion and personal strength. The Righteous Among Nations and a small number of people around me are of special interest and examples to me. I think if you love authenticity, you will attract similar people. It is just important to understand narcissism. Because dishonest people can also seek out honest people, knowing they will fall for lies... and givers who will give and give and give, and forgive and forgive. It is important to take note of red flags, and to be aware of cunning forms of manipulation.

  • Hi Benjamin, I have been following a few of your videos and wish you all the luck with the new direction of your Channel. I have found some really useful things in your work. It feels strange but I can really relate to some of where you are coming from. I don’t want to share too much publicly but I am a Brit, who speaks German and properly started learning four and a half years ago when I moved to Frankfurt. I love seeing the things you post about my / our City. I have followed that things have not always been easy and for me I have been troubled as times with Anxiety and Depression for periods of time and also problems with work. I think your videos / experiences help me relate to realise it is something that is shared and also I like to look and see the positives. I am an age where I have just embarked into yoga as well as the fitness. Please keep the videos coming from grateful neighbour.

  • Thank you for sharing your thoughts in such beautiful spots! I'm antecipating interesting content, as always! There is an obvious link between your interests and Germany, if you would like - the German thinkers, philosophers, authors, and psychologists. You see their names in the public sphere, too. I think of Ernst Bloch, Erich Fromm, Viktor Frankl, Marie-Louise v Franz, Goethe, Heinrich Heine, Eugen Herrigel, Hermann Hesse, CG Jung, Louise Rinser, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and so many more. Why not introduce us to your interest in archeology and history from east to west? That has been a keen focus also for many German scholars. It is almost impossible to make a job of such interests, but they sure make one's free time richer and personalities more deep. The time for change is now! Always! "The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. Whatever you think you can do, or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, power and grace." J W v Goethe As a "Brit in Germany" you can feel free to share anything between heaven and earth! Looking forward to it!

    • @DNA350ppm I agree about the beautiful spots and I think we are all looking forward to seeing our Brother's next thoughtful, varied and interesting videos. I have heard a lot from German people that they like honesty. So I would like to mention one of the things that is sometimes noticed by outsiders which you may not have picked up on. I personally do not link this Englishman's interests with any "great German thinkers" etc. People from all over the world have had great ideas. It's a big world. As it turns out, I really had only heard of three of the great people you mentioned here. I understood that Carl Yung was Swiss, so I myself don't see him as German. Another one is a particular hero of mine, Victor Frankl. I actually see Frankl as a Jew who had his fellow German people try to starve and work him to death as part of their extermination plan. It is actually this barbarity, and his own humanity that led to his fame. Erich Fromm is another Jew you have listed. I have most of his books, and his Jewish roots are very clear. He clearly favoured freedom as opposed to society's restraints. He fled from Nazi Germany in 1933, when, of course fellow Germans were hunting his people down. It appears he never lived in Germany again, but instead lived in the U.S., Mexico and then Switzerland. Were some of the other people on your list born in other countries, or left Germany soon after? Did any escape or get deported? I am sure that with all the German people interested in this channel thus far, the focus on Germany is very interesting and accepted, while others may be "too polite" to point out any glaring cultural habits. From my perspective, our Bro is very clearly an Englishman, who has done a lot in his life including living and fitting in well in both China and Germany. When I think of archeology, I personally think of my deceased Wiltshire partner who used to mention Stone Henge, and left me a huge stack of English archaeology books. I also think of people I literally adore who are on my television every morning excavating in Ben's homeland. They are Sir Tony Robinson, and Phil Harding whose accent and creative use of the English language remind me of the happy, down to earth Wiltshireman I knew and brings a very deep joy from homourous memories and listening to this archeology expert. I look forward to seeing whatever this Brit puts on the channel he has worked so hard to create. I am sure he will continue to be the polite, friendly, thoughtful Brit that he is wherever he lives, and to shine his light on the world in whatever way he chooses. I am sure it will continue to broaden my horizons. I am not British or German, but enjoy many great thinkers, excluding national socialists, from many parts of the world. The particular joy I find on this channel is not only the serious subjects, but an open, warm, polite and very honest and joyful Brit, just being himself... creating for others, from whatever moves his own heart. I would like to add that in the country I live in, diversity is embraced. Different nationalities and their unique ways are welcomed. We don't want replicas of us all over the country and exclude acceptance and humility, open-mindedness inviting the colorful and diversity we cherish so much. "They are us" Dame Jacinda Ardern. I thought I would share the perspective of an outsider here as a slight contrast to other viewpoints I see.

And lo and behold: The 'Oberturnwart' Max Heiser from Berlin published the first rules of handball in 1917. It originally was thought as a womens' sport, for it seemed to be less tough than football. The nazis then fiercly propagated it as an excellent training method - for throwing hand granades in World War II. ... 😕And there we go again: Even the most harmless aspects of our culture seem to almost necessarily point back to the darkest period in our history ... sorry for the 'novemberish' turn of this comment ...

It really helps people like me, who are traumatized by things in history, (big story) to come back to the present and to love all people the way I should. It helps with the healing.
