You forgot the utilization of cacti. Go to your local desert, dig three down, place a chest, a rail on top, minecart with hopper, sand on top of that, then a cactus. If you throw items at the base of the cactus, they'll disappear like normal, but instead of being thanos snapped from existence, the minecart with hopper snatches it up and deposits it in your chest for safe keeping.

it's a trapped chest, and for when they inevitably open it you have a redstone contraption that removes the floor from under them and crafting tables are at the bottom so they can't place water--
The Enderchest trick in the end is essentially "Yes you can do all these fun and elaborate ways to store your stuff but at the end of the day, just store it in a bank geez!"
I wouldn't recommend the "nobody uses the village chests late game" one. I always check chests the same way you check the fridge every 30 minutes just in case something suddenly appears. Or I just take the empty chests to save wood for crafting hoppers.

With the "X marks the spot" thing, people could kill you and get the map, thus ruining the secrecy. But, you could use this to your advantage: You could bury TWO chests. One of them is under the "X Mark" thing. You could put a few decent items there (Like a bunch of iron ingots, some gold ingots or emeralds, maybe a couple potatoes if you have a farm for them). People will dig it up and find the loot inside. At that point, they'll likely assume they successfully plundered your stuff, and leave. Meanwhile, the second chest is little ways away from the actual "X", and it contains the REAL loot. :D
I like how almost all of these require the expectation that someone isn't going to destroy stuff to find your items

Hey Skip, here's an unusual way to hide your valuables. First, you find an ice spikes biome. Then, using your silk touch pickaxe, break the 4th block in a spike into the middle of the spike. place a chest then hide your valuables in it while covering the hole with ice. let's hope no newcomers pick your spike when you're helping them find a base. also make sure to remember this spike with your stuff in it. if they pick your loot spike, tell them you or someone else lives there. just make sure to also mine the block above the chest

Ender Chest + Shulker Boxes solves a lot of those issues. If you do end up building an afk farm, it might be an issue. But most likely it would get griefed anyways, unless your friends uses that farm a lot. I know my Slime Farms tends to be left alone for the most part, but my Squid Ink farm gets griefed often until one of admins ended up putting their foot down on griefing.
I tried hiding a base under a trapdoor floor… but instead of letting me have an interesting floor, my friends (both of them) decided to flip up every single one! 😂

The SAFEST way to keep the items safe is putting them in a shulker and storing them inside an ender chest. It’ll not only be safe but also you can take them out from wherever you are

so, Skip made you skip to the 25th way in a "25 way" video.
Enderchest is awesome for this (server bugs erasing its contents aside), but the space is very limited, and sometimes needed for other tasks. I once had to empty everything to fill it with shulkers full of water buckets so I could fill 3 rows of Rays Works Guardian Farm per trip rather than a small portion (the way it's setup, the water won't autofill to stairs next to them, this being intentional so as to limit it's spread to only the block or so they're meant to flow inside). Depending on the projects at hand, it's often the best way to store things, as it can be accessed anywhere at anytime, so a room dedicated to swapping out what shulker kits you have inside is recommended, but with those kind of valuables, you don't just want to store them in plain sight, even though shulker shells are now renewable, many people aren't going to be willing to undertake the effort, and those who will are going to capitalize on the difficulty of obtaining said item if the server isn't well suited to community farms, making just the fact that the stuff's in a shulker reason enough to take it.

I've used the furnace trick for years, (mostly for levers to activate hidden doors) because that's how keys would be hidden in adventure horror maps.
This is genuinely the best reasoning.
The top 3 best ones on this list (in my opinion) 1. "Sneaky soil" this is first, because nobody would tilt random blocks and nobody would find it especially if you make it where there isn't much water. 2. Chest in a minecart, because you can barely see it and nobody would think to click on some random gray pixels and it's pretty cheap 3. Campfire, this is good, because nobody puts a campfire out, it's really easy to make and it's pretty hidden. (Ender chest is the best of all of these ofc)

Even safer: claim out to give free valuables to everyone using signs like "Free valuables!" next to some chests. Than everybody walking past that will surely look into the chests but when you put only boring stuff like wooden or stone tools ore other non-valuable items and blocks everyone will seeit as dumb unnecessary and walk away. A bit behind that you put a hidden chest that is the chest with your real valuables. Nobody will notice the hidden chest because of the annoyance they feel when checking your three or four chests with random boring stuff in them. Or better: place a redstone chest, some redstone powder and a sticky piston to make a trap-like hiding contraption (Did I spell this right?). Only if you are standing in the right spot (maybe place the piston hole and the chest almost at player's reach distance from each other) while opening that redstone chest with boring stuff in it you fall into a little room with your real valuables.

Some smarter tips: 1. Dont play multiplayer 2. Just use Enderchest 3. Use Enderchest filled with shulker full of loot that makes it store way more loot
this just made me really want to figure out how to play minecraft with my friends and create a bank of mass storage with no malicious intent at all and just for fun people get assigned vaults and they can ask for anything to be stored in those vaults and get them retrieved whenever they like

For the buried treasure one, I did that once years ago with my old group of friends (good times) but did a small sandstone X so as you walked by it looked normal unless you saw that it was smooth. Nobody ever found it, hints or not.

problem with ender chests is if theres a problem with the server or your computer or anything and your player data gets reset, welp there goes everything u had. figured that out when we tried snapshots for the first time a long time ago.
