Where all you do is run around a board for 12 hours with nothing interesting happening!! No cute cutscenes. No cool beat em up sections. No nice character interactions. No platforming sections. Absolutely nothing at all!!! And The DLC kinda sucks!! Larry From DQ 11 sucks!! Byleth sucks!! Sephiroth sucks!! Rebecca The Piranha Plant Really Sucks!! Pyra and Mythra sucks!! The Joker sucks!! Steve super sucks!! In terms of DLC characters!! Where's Crash Bandicoot? Where's A New Kirby Rep Like Bandanna Waddle Dee? Where's Earthworm Jim? Where's Dixie Kong? Where's A Rhythm Heaven Rep? Where's A Resident Evil Rep Like Jill Valentine or Leon S Kennedy? Where's Rayman? I really hated the DLC for Ultimate (Min Min, Terry, Banjo And Kazooie, Kazuya were actually awesome additions). And if I were the CEO at Nintendo. I would tell Sakurai to redo it and go a different way with it. I also don't like how there's barely any single player modes or barely anything to do offline!! Where's Break The Targets? Where's Board The Platforms? Where's A Boss Rush Mode? Where's Race To The Finish as a separate mode? Where's Smash Run? Where's All Star Mode? Where's Event Matches? Where's Master/Crazy Orders? Where's A proper version of Multiple Man Smash? And why couldn't this game get a proper story mode? Why couldn't the game get new modes like A Trophy Rush like mode for Spirits, A Bowling Mini Game like Tekken 7's mini game, A Mario Kart mini game, An Actual Arcade Mode Similar To Injustice (With you getting a cool arcade mode ending for each Character), ect? For something that claims to have brought everything back. Ultimate sure does a fine job of not bringing anything back at all!! Except garbage like Young Link, Pichu, And Falcondorf with no originality or interesting moveset updates!! Isabella, Incineroar, And the echoes suck to!! Sorry to say this! But Ultimate is a flawed badly made game that's not worth all the ridiculous hype surrounding it!! And unless they are going to make a super Ultra Version of Ultimate that adds in more single player content, fixes the online, throws in characters that aren't more shameful Sword Fighters Or JRPG cash in, and a story mode that's more like Subspace Emmisary!! With Sakurai actually listening to criticism instead of ignoraning criticism!! Count me the heck out!!

2:05 This is Sakurai's cheeky way of once again trying to remind everyone that he does not choose the fighters. He only does what his bosses at Nintendo tell him. Nintendo already had a deal in place with Bandai Namco to put a character from Tekken into Smash, they merely let Sakurai choose which one (within reason).

I can’t imagine Nintendo giving Smash up. They’re going to keep making more games but no one will match Sakurai. He has this special charm no one will replicate.
I just hope Nintendo is nice enough to make a super deluxe version of Smash Ultimate once Ultimate is done. With it including stuff the base game just could not throw in. Like more single player modes- Break The Targets, Smash Run, Board The Platforms. Playable Characters who are in the roster (Not in the game as cameos like Spirit Stickers) like Dixie Kong, Bandanna Waddle Dee, Krystal ect....... A fat better story mode that's nothing like World Of Light. Trophies. Alternate Costumes For other characters that aren't Mii Fighter's (A Dr. Luigi skin for Luigi, A Twilight Princess Skin For Ganondorf, A Star Fox Assault Skin For Fox, ECT......... More Final Fantasy Music that doesn't come from FF7. All that jazz.

don't get me wrong, i appreciate sakurai and the team giving any sort of representation for these requested fighters in the first place; but i just wish they'd stop treating the mii costumes like they are anything close to as exciting as getting the actual character as a fighter. all these brutal deconfirmations that we've gotten over ultimate's DLC cycle only makes me hope the miis are out by the next game...
@@MajoraWaffle But.... Mii Costumes are like an unofficial way of adding that character as a fighter. It’s the closest they’ll get without spending extra development time building an entire fighter. It makes sense why they present the mii fighters as they do, because just like the spirits, having ANY fit of representation is enough to be special.

You know, it just hit me as to why Super Smash Bros is so amazing, because it introduces people to other game franchises that they may not have already known about. I had already known about Tekken for awhile, but it was Kazuya joining Smash that inspired me to check out some of the games in the series. The first one I decided to try out was Tekken 3. I didn’t get the Playstation version though. I downloaded a rom of the arcade version. But anyway, I tried it out, and it felt so good to play! The idea of each button being assigned to specific limbs was actually an ingenious game design decision! Not to mention, it’s one of the smoothest fighting games I’ve ever played! Pulling off combos in Tekken 3 felt very satisfying! After that, I decided to try out Tekken 7 on PC (with real money on Steam), and I find it to be just as good as Tekken 3, except this one has Akuma from the Street Fighter series. I also recently got a PS Vita and I decided to get both Tekken 1 and 2 from the PS Store, and I often play them during my break at work. And finally, because Tekken 3 is still my favorite, I actually decided to go on Ebay and buy a copy of the Playstation version, and it should be at my home in a few days! Totally looking forward to that! So, here’s my message to Masahiro Sakurai and the rest of the Super Smash Bros development team. Thank you for making a really fun fighting game and for using that game to represent other fantastic video games from the past!
Same! Any DLC I don't know I try to learn more about them and their games. If I like the games I'll play them. It's the same with the characters I main. I play them because I like the outside of smash. I love them for who they are.

Honestly I agree with your choice of words because if it wasn't for the Super Smash Brothers series I would have never gotten into Bayonetta. One of the best action games I've ever played and was searching for from when I was a kid.
Joker had me going out and buy a PS4 and Persona 5 Terry got me thinking about getting KOF15 Byleth had me buying Fire Emblem Three Houses Sephiroth had me buying Final Fantasy VII Remake on Christmas Pyra and Mythra had my buying Xenoblade 2 on Amazon Kazuya had me buying Tekken 7 And now, I'm gonna go and buy Kingdom Hearts for Sora

There is going to be a BIG hole for me once Sakurai stops doing presentational videos like this. We'll look back for years to come on how Sakurai did more to celebrate game series of all generations than these series' own creators and publishers have. I only hope there can be others to lead by example and pick up the pieces from Sakurai and Iwata. Legends.

@@dice9270 there's someone on the comment says that Nintendo need to censor "mature" word type, like "devil" or "assasin". So that's why Altair and Dante named after their own name, not the game. Some fun fact: In Nintendo UK, they actually writed Assasin Creed in Altair mii reveal, except for Dante and Dragonborn still named after their name now.

I don't think people realize how crazy it is to see Kazuya's crazy movelist implemented into Smash. This truly feels like a love letter to all Tekken fans.

It's crazy to think that Sakurai's biggest project is about to come to an end. If you think about it, Ultimate is the culmination of all the smash games, and to think it's about to come to an end is crazy. Although it would be sad to see him go, Sakurai definitely deserves a great retirement.
well league has been going on for what 10+ years? just because small updates and new characters here and there. It's up to the releases and the fanbase to keep it going.

Kazuya has so much normal moves they had to talk about the special before
That's what I love, cause that's how Tekken is, normals are considered specials in Tekken since special moves don't really exist in those games, it was just recent with the series they started adding stuff like fireball attacks with Tekken characters. So really his A attacks are really his B attacks, and B attacks is just an extension of A specials or can call it Smash specials since his B attacks in this game don't really exist in Kaz Tekken toolset.
Realizing that this is the second to last character reveal trailer also made me realize how much affection I have for this man. Mr. Sakurai has poured has absolute heart, body and soul into this game for ten years for all of us to enjoy, and has navigated Japan's labyrinthine copyright system so many times for the sake of delivering this to all of is. It's truly a singular achievement, and I'm grateful to him from the bottom of my heart.
Underrated comment
22.5 years pretty much so far, if we don't include the development time for smash 64. 10 years was just the time between when the start of smash 4 development had begun and today. the man is nearly at 25 years of smash history, and his reasoning for pushing through and deciding to come back to make this smash game only makes him more of a legend.
The fact that he went through all that is just to make a lot of people's childhood fantasies come true is quite heroic. How many of us imagined a battle between Pikachu and Sonic? A battle between Sephiroth and Kazuya? A battle between Luigi and Ness? He pretty much allows us to make our imagination a reality with Smash.
@@lyonvensa yes. He understands what kids’ dreams are made of, and that we hold onto those memories even when we’re adults. Smash Ultimate is a historic achievement in gaming.

For people confused about the "Heaven" line: The Japanese character for heaven is "天" or "Ten". "Nintendo" is "任天堂" He was talking about Nintendo.

Recently got really into Tekken, so I decided to come back to this. Sakurai really did knock it out of the park with Kazuya in this game. My only regret is not getting into Tekken sooner, as I would’ve been popping off at this reveal as opposed to indifferent.

Even though I didn't know who Kazuya was, I still watched this presentation when it went live, and now I'm wanting to try out Tekken 7. I believe this is what Sakurai wanted to accomplish with Smash as a whole. For people to come together and talk about their favorite games, and try out new games because of this game. Thank you Sakurai, for making such an amazing series of games.

This was a charcter that I did not know I needed/wanted but now that he's here its just so amazing. Out of all the fighting games Tekken is the one I played the most and with Street Fighter and Fatal Fury already represented Tekken fits will.

@@e-tan3911 Oh, yeah, as a guy who likes fighting games and doesn't have the first pass, charge inputs do not being in Smash, motion ones may be a little hard for Smash, but charges are worse.
I'm sad to see that there won't be any more dlc fighters after the next one, but I'm happy with what we got. And I want to say thank you to sakuri, for putting so much time and effort into this game and smash 4. Eh, the nerfs weren’t that impactful. Min Min’s my 2nd fav dlc so I’m a little down about it but it’s just the up-smash so it doesn’t seem too substantial.

@@axaturdoor7553 Nah, her Up Smash was a big reason she was so good, it was one of her best anti-pressure tools and a very useful kill move if your opponent had stage control and it was weakened. Granted, she's still really good, but she's probably fell a few spots on the tier list and got knocked to upper high as a result.

For the record, if I had to take a guess, when Sakurai made the joke about "a voice from heaven called to me", he is talking about nintendo. In japanese, nintendo has the kanji for heaven (天, pronounced ten) in it. I could be wrong but it'd make sense

Pretty much yes. Especially considering that heavens in Japanese is Tengoku (天国) and the first kenji is 天 (Ten) as in 任天堂 (Nintendo).
@@Greg1899 天 as a standalone kanji is common for heaven as well. But in case of Nintendo's name the last part 天堂 means heaven as well. Basically what I'm saying is Ten Tendo and Tengoku are more or less the same meaning "heaven" in japanese
If you're further interested Tengoku 天国 implies "heavenly land" as it has the kanji for land. Tendo 天堂 has the nuance of "heavenly hall" and Ten 天 is just meaning heaven not implying anything further.
They did say “Nintendo selected the characters for fighters pass 2” which was hard to believe since they supposedly picked Sephiroth

Sakurai clearly has so much love and passion for the Tekken series! It’s crazy to me that for 10 years he’s been working on Smash 4 and Ultimate and that it’s all coming to an end soon! Oh my god I am hyped for this character, I just bought tekken 7 just to get acquainted with kazuya. More sakurai videos in the future, nintendo!
So the next character really will be the last. It kinda makes me feel sad. Three years of hype and speculation and it sure has been one wild ride, but it’s not quite over just yet. No matter who the last fighter is, let’s just be grateful that a game like this even exists. Smash Ultimate is something that most of us never even imagined.
