Horst Günther Yeah, that was pretty stupid, huh? They knew from the draw that a third round matchup between Venus and Serena was possible, so they had plenty of time to prepare their graphics ahead of the match. Astounding.

Rainy D, that makes two of us. Maybe a light came on after she won this one. Notice the serving. She was averaging in the 113 mph. She has not done that for years! And now she's in the semi-finals without the loss of a set. She and her team has got to have been thinking about all of the close calls last year: Finals of Australia, finals of Wimbledon- No one could have told me beforehand that she would lose the Wimbledon final but after seeing the first few points of it, sadly, I knew she was having a bad day. You could tell the way she was moving, but being the class act she is, she made no excuses and the even made the semi-finals of the open and one thing most people do not understand about Venus, if you look at her history, she's an even greater champion than she's given credit for. Especially at the US Open. Most of the time, she has lost to the eventual winner there. Just think had she won those matches. I truly believe had she beaten Slone, she would have won the tournament. I call it the Venus curse. A buddy of mine and I made a bet after the semis. I told him Slone would win and he asked why I thought so, given the year Slone had had thus far. I mentioned the fact that Venus usually loses to the person who wins there. Twice to Kim, a few times to Serena when she won. Just think how many opens she would have, not to mention what might have been had she won a couple of those finals when they made the final of all of the grand slams. One has to wonder how much her autoimmune problem may have played in all of this.

Alright Venus this is what I like to see. She has been playing phenomenal tennis these past two years. This was a good match for Serena as well and I am a thousand percent sure Serena will be better next tournament. This could have been a final!

Venus' forehand looked the best I've seen in awhile. Hitting it hard and going for lines. With that being said you can see Serena still has her strength but she's still not at her peak fitness and was a little slow.

It's actually good to see Venus win for a change. Serena has had the upper hand for years winning 8 of the last 9 against her big sister. But don't be fooled by this victory. Serena is not yet in championship form. I just love watching these two legends play. We better enjoy it now because time flies and they will both be retired before very long. Tennis won't be the same without them.

Early on, Venus helped Serena rise from near oblivion to world-class ranking while simultaneously dominating the sport. Without Venus, there would be no Serena. Had Venus focused entirely on her own game instead of mentoring little sis, who knows what she would have achieved? In character and achievement, Venus is #1.

Alright Venus this is what I like to see. She has been playing phenomenal tennis these past two years. This was a good match for Serena as well and I am a thousand percent sure Serena will be better next tournament. This could have been a final!
Venus' forehand looked the best I've seen in awhile. Hitting it hard and going for lines. With that being said you can see Serena still has her strength but she's still not at her peak fitness and was a little slow.

It's actually good to see Venus win for a change. Serena has had the upper hand for years winning 8 of the last 9 against her big sister. But don't be fooled by this victory. Serena is not yet in championship form. I just love watching these two legends play. We better enjoy it now because time flies and they will both be retired before very long. Tennis won't be the same without them.
