And they are the ones praising themselves, or putting another brother or sister down, especially in rap music. Will has grown away from that mindset for many years now. In the world sports they use to talk about the younger sister being so powerful in the camp. Richard is to be crowned for protecting and taking on all burden of hate for his daughters. Richard let the “racist/evil” side of the tennis world focus on him and not attack his daughters so they could concentrate and be free to play. He was strategic and is a fantastic person. Great man.

  • I am a former competitive tennis player, and what they say about these two women is not exaggerated. Venus is one of the greats in women's tennis, but Serena truly is one of the greatest athletes of all time. Usually female tennis players retire at around 30. She went several years beyond, remained number 1 for majority of her career, and won a grand slam while pregnant. She's the only tennis player that could take months off tour, then return, train a bit, and be number 1 again. It's unreal.

And having had the inside track on a similar story where the dad is being portrayed as “abandoning” his kids, usually it’s not the whole story especially when the dad has demonstrated the capacity for love. Namely, the ex-wife (baby mama) has often infused her issues into the children and they do not want to interact with their father. • I am soooo, proud of these two sisters. Why! In the 80s, when I played in the National Junior Tennis League, there were some real good players but because of Funding, it was even harder for us. We played in the armory, Central Park, we played Tournaments throughout the five boroughs. Real fun times. When Serena and Venus came along I was so happy. Because they represented us. They have carried the Torch for American Tennis for the past at least 20 years. With all the adversity, naysayers, the untimely death of their sister, the health issues etc. They still kept it going. That speaks volumes. They play with Tenacity, confidence, also changing the game to more power hitting. Because of Venus, women are making more money after campaigning for it. Need I say anymore. Wish I could meet them just to tell them thanks for what they have done for the sport. Also thank their father for his contribution to the game. Teaching his daughters to be Champions. God bless the Williams family. 💖💖💖💖💖💖

Only Tom Brady rivals what they've done and still no comparison as he plays one side of the Ball and needs teammates to perform in order to fulfill what he's accomplished. There are times in the film where the racism Richard experienced in the past clouds his judgment, and there are times when he correctly sees right through the bullshit. • What I've always admired about Richard is his wisdom off the court to his daughters. He stressed education for other career options after tennis, & most of all money management. I'll never forget Serena was on either VH1/MTV type special yrs ago, in her early 20's, already a multi-millionaire she's with friends shopping, uses her credit card & its declined -- Friends are shocked, she explains I have a monthly budget & now I'm over, so can't get whatever item it was. They went to college while touring for matches & Venus was at or near a 4.0 GPA & Serena was like a 3.2 GPA - again while playing tennis & was running their clothing business. Richard put a lot into them & love in film clip about how dangerous a woman is using her mind. He may not have been formallly educated, may have been emotionally & physically hard on his children, but he appears as 1 of the smartest dads in sports & life lessons. Wisdom beats formal education more often than not. Will's smile doesn't quite reach his eyes these days & wish he & Jada stop explaining their marital good & woes to the public.

  • Black people have no limits , I have so much respect for their dad. To bring them up in Compton CA. And them as young ladies make it out and become who and what they are is remarkable. I was raised in the projects in Chicago, My dad let the world know, Not this Family!! And we all lived relatively normal lives, with the exception of my oldest brother , he was killed while watching a crap game surrounded by so called friends. But he kept all the bangers off us. I love will Smith, it's a shame to see him going through changes with his wife.

    • @@theresaleek7750 That's what happens when you have years of an Open Marriage with both sleeping with who they want to. They will be deep embedded resentment. They've always had a strange and unhappy relationship but put on a Good front. When I heard they got married it did not seem right to me since I knew both their personalities and how Fake Jada has always been.

  • Venus' dress is so beautiful. If we had more men like Richard, we could get more kids out that horrible life.

  • This movie is beautiful! It really demonstrates what it takes coming from Compton to become the best two Tennis players in the world. What a great father!!!!! He had a vision and a plan and nothing was going to get in his way. Venus and Serena are the best, but outside of Tennis they are two spectacular human beings. Do not miss this movie King Richard!!!

  • I love how comfortable both Venus and Serena are in their skin. I love that and hopefully their dad played a huge part in that comfort. Great Interview ☺️

    • Just getting a movie made about "anyone" that person's made it. Adding Will in the mix just elevate the production value.
