    • @@imrekalman9044 not realy that much more compared to road trucks. Scania V8 730 hp has 3500 nm. Its still a lot tho. Good luck with a regular car against a 730 manual shift Truck without trailer. Those things are pretty quick up until 50 mph that is ofcourse.

    • @@Jeckaa84 While I was doing my driving license I came across a truck without trailer. Starting from the light I drove a diesel Ford Orion. The truck overtook me, came in front of me, slowed down and made a left turn 'bout 100 meters from the light - while I constantly accelerated. Thankfully the instructor didn't notice. Ever since (1997) I have a massive respect for trucks. Btw some Dakar trucks have 5000+ Nm torque. Yay!

    • Pretty sure I read somewhere that the 2019 kamaz Dakar trucks were running the Chinese built 13 litre 6 cylinder Cummins ISZ13 With variable hp from 980hp to 1150hp through switchable intercoolers. I think the old Liebherr V8s have been discontinued now for Dakar racing.

  • "It’s an imposing beast for sure, and the appearance is matched by a menacing growl from its huge diesel engine. The turbo-charged 13-litre, six-cylinder Dongfeng Cummins engine, with a switchable intercooler, puts out an enormous 1,150hp, and drinks anything between 100 to 200 litres per 100km - 100 on piste, 200 on sand. Thanks to a 1,000-litre fuel tank situated directly over the rear wheels it can manage a range of anything between 500 to 1,000km, depending on the driving conditions."

    • @Tornadoes Correct. Liebherr and Kamaz are in partnership in Russia. Kamaz now builds a straight 6 Diesels in Russia from 500/750hp that was developed with the help of Liebherr so it would meet European Emission Standards. I think Kamaz exports there Transmissions into Europe also. The best way for a Russian Company to get into the European Market. Sell there new 6 under the name of Liebherr. Makes sense they would use a Liebherr V8. Keep the winning combination in the Family. Kamaz must win the Truck division of the Dakar 90% of the time.

    • @Tornadoes The Kamaz V8 that is extremely reliable and durable was of far less HP. About 200/300 Maximum. The only thing I know is there new straight 6 goes up to about 750hp and complies with all Emission Standards around the World. Maybe that is going into Russian Military Vehicles now.

    • @@njenga.n.n They're limited to 140kph. At least while doing the Dakar race. It's beacuse in the 80's DAF built a 1200hp truck that could do over 200kph, it kept beating the actual race cars and eventually one of them crashed, killing one of the crew.

  • I was in a Ryder moving truck 26ft. I never had so much fun getting sideways in that truck. It was on a dirt road. I must have went back and did it 10 times. More fun than ANY car.
