It's huge not having the other parent, even more so if they had a relationship with them and then bam, they are gone in prison. She feels neglected at only 4 years old😭 It's heartbreaking.

When he was later transferred to a low security prison he got decent meals, got to watch TV, his kids and wife could visit, we could even apply for a certain amount of time where he got to spend time with us outside of prison, like a 24 hour period (sometimes less, sometimes more). He was also allowed to get a job and work if he was monitored by either an ankle monitor or someone who worked in the prison. He wasn’t considered a flight risk or a threat to himself or others so he was given more leniency there than if he had stayed in the high security and clearly wasn’t trustworthy.

    • Agreed. It seems obvious to us that they'll know that they're hurting them by going to prison .. but maybe, they have to SEE it first hand & spent those moments bonding to really understand that they're actions are hurting the ones they love the most. ❤️ Maybe, this will be an eye opener for them to not go back. For their kids. I wish this program was everywhere. It's truly incredible.

The father went to live with my sister the boy's grandmother and we thought he was on his way only to return to his thieving, drugging ways eventually disappearing breaking my great nephews heart. Now my great nephew has a son but he doesn't know how to be Dad so the family is all pitching in to try and help him learn how important the bond is needed and wanted.

    • My dad is in prison, he went to prison when I was 12 almost 13. I took out my anger at school by getting into fights and getting into trouble. Some kids would bring tequila to school and we would drink it at recess, and I did this to numb the pain of missing my dad. Then the next year (8th grade) when I was 13, I met a girl and we got along great. I was excited to go to school because I knew I was gonna see her. Eventually we had sex. We had sex a lot of times and I never had access to condoms because I couldn’t get anywhere to buy them or ask my mom because I was only 13. She got pregnant and immediately told her parents who were the most supportive parents ever. But I never told my mom, and her parents didn’t tell my mom because they thought that she might get scared and want an abortion. My son was born when I was 13. I’m now 17 and my dad is still in prison. But now I have a beautiful 3 year old son who I would die for. I travelled back to USA (I had to move away from there when I was 14), and got to spend the entire day with my son. It was the best day of my life. But leaving him was extremely hard. I cannot describe the pain of having to stop hugging him, put him down, and get into the car and drive away knowing it could be another year before I see him again. I don’t know how to be a dad. I’m only 17, and I don’t live anywhere near my son. But I still love him more than anything on this earth, and he loves me too.

  • This program needs to be in every prison. Breaks my heart. Yes, children are the silent victims and they need their fathers and their fathers need them. Just because a man’s incarcerated doesn’t mean his ability to love and parent his kids stops. It doesn’t mean that he is not a good parent. These types of programs benefit both parent and child and helps to foster self-worth and attachment.

    @MaxineAGGuess@MaxineAGGuess4 жыл бұрын
    • I absolutely agree with you on that. My ex husband has been in jail for almost a year now and it breaks my heart that my daughter is the one who showed me this video. I'm heartbroken right now and there's nothing I can do to help her. My fiance passed away from brain cancer 2 weeks before her father was arrested and she was just as close to him as she is with her father so she has been through so much. Unfortunately the jail doesn't allow any contact other than video chat or phone calls which cost more for 10 minutes than most people where we live make per hour. The children involved are the ones who are suffering the most and I hope that more facilities will have programs like this one available to help the children not punish them too.

My mom tries to make me feel like I shouldn’t love him. But I do love him, he is my dad. He always put work before me and my siblings, but I still think he was a pretty good dad. I have some good memories with him. I had to go from when I was 13yo until a few months ago (17yo) without seeing him. When I was 13, I used to cry at night fearing that I would never see him again, and I would think “all I want is one hug from my dad”.

She would get to know all his friends and would always make him happy. His mom got out 3 years ago and she’s one of the best human beings I’ve ever met. I honestly think of her as a second mom.

    • @Nevaeh Nevaeh This program is a Christian program and all the father's are hand selected. Im not sure if uou heard correctly but only 20 prisoners were alowed to participate im sure becuase of good behavior. You know Grace is a gift no one deserves not even the most law abiding citizen. I belive im everyone being held accountable for thier actions buf i also stongly belive in redemption. I just think its sad that we are so condemning like we never needed a second chance before. We are all sinners. Some more than others. Its becuase of thise mentality that the united states is overflowing with prisoners becuase programs that offer you Gods grace are belittled and not supported. Its mote convenient for the pockets of the country to make more jails and continue cramming them in than to offer grace to a selected few that want to recive it..
