    • You are 100% correct!!That's what many people don't understand. Cops are people. A good cop is usually going to be a good friend, good brother/sister, etc. Usually a bad cop is also a horrible husband/wife, father/mother.

    • Ru Ba exactly. My opinion is that American police forces attract a disproportionate amount of people who just itch to be aggressive and brutal - but I can also acknowledge that there are truly decent and caring officers that want to do the job with humility and justice. This man is a good human, so therefore he makes a good officer. To paraphrase Wayne Dyer: “when you squeeze an orange, what comes out is orange juice, because that’s what it contains. When you are squeezed, what you contain is what comes out.” This man (and his wife) were obviously filled with mercy and selflessness. This country needs to change the kinds of officers that they hire, and stop punishing the whistleblowers trying to uphold their duty to protect the people and do the right thing.

But here we see this man teaching me", moved me. Officer Holets and Sergeant Edison are both great cops and great human beings.

    • People have this idea that addiction is a simple choice. A choice that only bad people make. But truth be told, there are a million and one ways someone can fall into addiction and it can happen to anyone. It’s easy to believe it can never happen to you or anyone around you, but addiction is far more common then people realize. Cause some people also forget that drugs aren’t the only form of addiction either.

Not everyone can help themselves and you're the problem if you think it makes you a good person just because you gave them money knowingly they would use it for drugs. You say it's not your responsibility but the fact that you gave that person money makes it your business. If someone wants something they have to put in the work instead of just hoping someone would give them money for their addiction. I like to thank you for twisting my response because your entire comment was done out of emotion. • @C H it's not always a choice. People are prescribed medicines by the doctor that they trust, and become addicted. Eventually the pills aren't enough and they move on to stronger things....from the streets. Nobody wakes up and says "today im going to become an addict and spend the rest of my life in misery." 🙄 Even for those who did choose to use opiates the first time, are they not deserving of help just because they made a bad choice? Have you never made a bad decision? The wrong decision? Trust me, it only takes 1 or 2 times of using heroin to become addicted to it. That quick, a person finds themselves trying to get more bc they literally feel like their body is going to shut down if they don't. All because of the one bad decision. Again, nobody wakes up dreaming of becoming an addict and living that lifestyle. I sure hope that you or someone you care about never has a bad day and makes that bad decision. The way things are going in the world today with addiction, it is *very* possible and *very* likely that addiction will hit close to home for you, and I hope no one turns their nose up at your family/friend and says "you shouldn't have chosen to abuse opiates." That would really suck. 😬🤷

Welcoming a new baby is a big responsibility, and "happy couples" need to include each other in major life-changing decisions like this. Even if he knows his wife and knows that she'd be willing to adopt, he should have at least checked with her out of respect (and to hear any concerns) before making the offer, instead of agreeing to adopt and then TELLING her that he'd made the decision on behalf of both of them. I understand that in the moment he was likely very emotional and might not have thought that much, but making major decisions without your spouse's input not something that we should be glorifying by any means.

If you’re looking to adopt, don’t be afraid to take on one of these children, they may need a little extra help, but they will bring you joy. All of our children bring us happiness but he is the joy of our family, he’s the youngest, and he is surrounded and protected by all of us. He is successful and thriving, he doesn’t have any issues as far as behavior or substance abuse attraction. He’s actually a very humble, kind and funny guy, we love him so much.
