17th May 2021 - There's still 5 chicks - Blue tit nest box live camera highlights
Thankfully another day when we started with five chicks and ended with five chicks. All five seem to be gaining strength and the dominant three are becoming less so. We might just make it to the end of this with all five fledging. No magpie attacks today, just the weather trying to drown anyone and anything that went out into the open.
The bird feeding station had a huge re-stock today so whilst not feeding the chicks directly, it keeps the parents energy levels up and our female can keep catching huge flies!
Will the chicks eyes be opening in the next day or so? That's the next question.

hi i started off with 8 young down to 4 not looking good at all at moment both adults still feeding ,but female ir diving into bottom of nest relentless all the time as if she's after NITS but i don't know 1st year with a camera she has dropped a dead one out of the cup and put it on side of nest ,
We started with 8 and are down to 5. If you get a chance to watch the livestream you'll see the female cleans the bottom of the nest fairly regularly. She took the 3 that didn't survive out of the nest.
the chicks still really need chill pills... just look at them when the mother comes.... JUST chill God and when they eat the sometimes they go crazy!!!!!!
the hole chick begineer stage is what i hate the most but i still watch cause it fun but the chicks are so anoying...... when they start to look like them thats when i like it more but the babys them selves with only skin and no feathers
