I Can Hear My Father's Voice, Don't Sell My Cars (especially the 'Cuda's)

Пікірлер
  • I wasn’t going to comment or share anymore about myself but I do see a lot of people asking the same questions. These vehicles were parked when I was way too young to do anything about it. My dad was the typical “I’ll fix them one day” man and unfortunately life, and cancer, got in the way of that. My mom felt guilty selling them after my dad passed away so they sat a few more years. We had many “vultures”, as y’all call them, try to buy the vehicles or even just TAKE them when my parents first passed away. I knew they would sit and do the same thing with them as they were already doing, so we refused. When Cole made a post in a local group looking for project cars, I asked my husband to reach out. When I found out they had already restored multiple Cudas, I knew they were the route to go. It was never about the money for me. Do I think the amount was totally fair after pulling the vehicles out and seeing the true condition? Some days yes, other days no. But, again, it was NOT about the money. I am not like my parents. While I do know how rare these cars can be, I also know that they’re not realistic for me. I don’t have the money nor the resources to complete a project that big, neither do most of the comments on this video. We call those “pipe dreams”. I wanted to see these cars go to someone who could fix them, not another backyard or garage. The Buick is my baby. Life is playing it’s cards and bringing big changes for me and my family. When it does, I plan to partially restore it so it doesn’t rot like so many others. My father had the mindset that nobody could have what was his, not realizing that even by them being his property, they were so far out of reach. The home itself is not repairable, the outside isn’t even close to a reflection of the inside. Part of me letting go of the vehicles was my final step from stepping away from the lifestyle I was brought up in. I will always feel the ache in my heart for selling them, but I know it will be so worth it to see them restored. I have no doubt that Tim and Cole, or whoever they choose to partake, will bring these cars glory. We sold nearly every vehicle on the property, excluding a few Camaros and the Silverado, and of course my Buick. (And two motorcycles) My husband has been my rock through this all, and I value/appreciate him very much. Thank you for all the compliments towards his tow-abilities. I try to tell him how good he is but he doesn’t listen! He has been towing for 18 years, since he was 18. He has a true eye and passion for it. If you enjoyed watching him, please remember to MOVE OVER and save a life. 💛

I’ll never understand classic car owners that would let their cars sit and rot back into the earth before giving someone the opportunity with the means and know how to give them a second lease on life for all to gaze upon and enjoy for many years to come. Great job on your part young lady. 😉👍

    • I'll tell you why shooter. Because time, life, and health reasons all take their toll. Building buildings are a property tax sinkhole. Cars once where cheap. Buildings never. Yes it's sad to see that white one go from car show condition to rats nest but as a multi classic car owner myself... After 500 dipshits who try to steal your cars for a couple bills you'd rather let them sit and rot. Believe me. Plus once you obtain more than you can handle and life starts throwing shitballs at you.... You stop caring. Besides that I'll look out my window at a car you'll only dream of owning. Cute puppy. Had one just like it until some pos poisoned him.

  • If you're not going to properly store these cars and keep them in running condition then it's definitely the wiser choice to sell them so that they can be preserved and enjoyed the way cool cars like that Cuda should be. How people can let rare and desirable cars just sit outside and rot is something I will never understand.

    • You don’t understand a lot of things want to be a car guy. I’ll explain something to ya. The person had a attachment to them in his life time. People like this are not always rich people so they keep them in the only place they can with a someday dream to get it running again. God bless him . Another thing you don’t get is back in the 80s and nineties these things were a dime a dozen. If this guy would have done like most jackasses did do was cut them up for scrap or make a stock car out of them. Do you get it now.?

At the time the dad bought the cars it’s safe to say him and his wife were young once they began aging mobility for them would have become difficult so taking care of the cars would of too. I’ve watched lots of stories like this about old fellas and their cars and I totally get it it’s like a hoarders addiction they just don’t care what anyone thinks.

She's selling a piece of her father, and her childhood. As they rummage through the collection of priceless automobile parts and carry it away. Glad these cars are going to a great place maybe they'll get a second chance for life. Hope she knew what she had, and was given enough money for these cars. Great recovery of some classic muscle and other relics.

  • A message to the daughter and son as a parents have passed away. My condolences. They seem pretty young to be in those shoes 👟. The 61 Chevy is most likely worth more now then it was twenty-five years ago when it was looking great! Cuda definitely is! Well sell any cars to do other things that they may want to do as far as home improvement memorial for their parents. Father and son who buy the car message for you. That song Mama didn't raise no fool applies here of course you get out there on that same day. Things like this don't drop into your lap everyday. We've actually taking trees that have grown up in the engine compartment. And we have taken the tree out just so we could get the car out of there. Well congratulations on what appears to be a fabulous find. Manteresting if you do a follow up on what you do with these cars is la content there including you know who you sell them to what you got out of them. Break it down for the folks viewing because just because you pay X-Men dollars and you get double that out of it doesn't mean you doubled your money there is a thing for time and investment of parts for the improvement. unless you did buy them dirt cheap and just turned around and sold a couple of them . Cuda and the 61 Chevy are great content cars for KZhead viewers as you well know. Congrats again on finding a nice heard of vehicles.

  • It’s a shame when cars are left outside to rot. I’m not blaming the parents or children, it sometimes just happens. A car gets parked off to the side, and next thing you know there are small saplings around it. However, you can’t underestimate the damage water will cause. Like this Cuda 4:45 has a small rot hole to the left of the year window. You can almost bet that both the trunk and interior floorboards are all rotted; not to mention the seats are soaked with rain and mice pee. I’ll give the kids credit for getting these cars out, sold and hopefully restored or used for parts. Best of luck!

  • Rachel, I struggle with whether to leave my only classic car to my daughter when I go, but she really wants it. Unfortunately, she does not have the skills to do any work on it, at all, so I'm not sure its a good idea. She can't even drive the 4-speed. So, I applaud you for finding people that CAN and WILL give the cars the proper care they deserve! I'm sure your dad would be proud 😉

  • The owner who passed away should have skipped buying more cars and built a building to put them in. He had some nice stuff but the environment has been hard on them. Glad they’re going to some guys who will save whatever is able to be saved. God bless all tow truck drivers. It’s a dangerous job.

    • I agree and her words have an echo to them and thus the title of this story - "I can hear my father's voice," so amazing to me - "... don't sell those cars you don't know what you have." The last three words ring in my ears to this day. Listen to her again speak them and see if they ring in your ears too

Not sure how you came up with this style, but it works! (also, Jason could have his own channel...heck, Matt's Offroad Recovery does about the same thing with 1.4 million subscribers. Great skills!)

  • She's lucky her daddy left her a house and he saved all them cars. Selling the cars is going to get her family a nice chunk of money. That should help her fix the house and have some left over. I'm very surprised she didn't take better care of the cars it seems that she should have known that they have value since she grew up in a car loving family. Cars are a great thing for a family you can go to shows, travel meet people go to swap meets, it's like treasure hunting with the family.

  • I would love to have the 1961 bubbletop Bel Air. I didn't know such a car existed until recently. I always thought the bubbletop in 1961 was exclusive to the Impala. The Bel Air was originally a 6 cylinder car. The emblem on the trunk doesn't have the "V" around the emblem, indicating a V-8. I had a 1961 Bel Air with a "flat top". The 'Cudas and Camaro's would be way out of my price range.
