This video is not gonna go the way most folks think it is and I hope yous are pleasantly surprised haha. The game itself is still in early access but for what's here it's really good. There's still more songs I've yet to unlock, but I might wait till full release to revisit it

Both of my parents are nurses. When I was listening to Dr Paige’s song, it just hit me in the feels. That’s my parents’ lives and jobs and with the NHS crisis I do worry about them, especially my mum (my dad thankfully retired last October). I remember having to miss many birthdays and Christmases because they were working, and thankfully they were able to be present for most of my life.
Yeah. And it's so accurate with the politician blaming it all on the doctors, even though the crisis was caused by the politician. Even in the media we see it. Especially the Daily Mail etc. Saying doctors are overpaid and lazy. When it's really the opposite. It's all to deflect from the real issue, which is government underfunding.
We must support NHS!

I think the music helps a lot too, this game generally has much much stronger beats, more recognisable music and even the visual cues are cleared than RH which can be all over the place, some are okay but a lot of it can be really unclear. My rhythm is also pretty shit but I find something like BPM really enjoyable because the music has such a strong, heavy beat and you can kinda hit that point where you're just jamming to it rather than trying to twitch react to the note

I do like how the first few stages are like, "Alright, so here's the basic mechanics. Here's what to do when a beat is skipped. NOW HERE'S A BOSS STAGE, RELY ON YOUR INTERNAL METRONOME, BITCH."

Replying on you so you would check on Act 5, even as an avid player of RD, the new act did very VERY funky window mode shenanigans
Right? It’s the first time I’ve seen something like that be done. It looks sick.
There are a ton of ways to manipulate stuff like windows, files on the PC and the mouse itself. I think there are only so few games that make use of it because some antivirus programs will pick it up as a threat Maybe there are other reasons, but I have no idea what they'd be. Maybe these functions are just relatively unknown
@@trapical Replying to the spoilers with technical information: . . . Man with no Rhythm gains a lot of Rhythm playing Rhythm Doctor. I'm proud of you as you are truly learning.
I'm only 21:00 in and the creativity of this game is insane, and quite honestly if this is possible I'm surprised there aren't more games out there that push the limitations of just what you can do with stuff like this..
its actually really easy from a coding perspective, even games like doki doki literature club and some others have it implemented, but its just kind of a gimmicky thing to do unless its for a horror factor during a 4th wall break or for something like this thats meant to visually distract you for an extended period. (also you cant do it with games that are also on console + makes it hard to capture for content creators so it alienates alot of possible audiences, cool feature though just not practical in most scenarios even though it isnt particularly hard to do)
@@JubioHDX Technically, it's not too bad for content creators if you do things like this game does with the "one screen" mode. And you realistically could do it with console (or players that want to force fullscreen) by simply filling the background with an (optionally selectable) color and moving the gameplay window around that (including mimicking the header bar). The actual reason it's not done more is that you need a fairly simple control scheme that needs to basically be just direction agnostic buttons. Meaning that WASD, arrow keys, your mouse (or both sticks and the d-pad for controllers) need to be practically useless during those segments. And even then, you could still use them if you're not throwing the window as violently as this game does. For instance, if you're making a "flat" port of a VR or AR game, you could easily do that to mimic the feeling of moving a device. Though wanting a visual indicator of a "hidden area" (where the zoom is different to normal play, but you want to keep size ratios the same) and forcing stealth could also easily benefit.
I sent that “One Shift More” song to my sister who’s a doctor. Needless to say she shared that sentiment.
Do you know what I appreciate? The option not to see the spider. Arachnophobia tends to get played off as a joke, but it is a legitimate phobia that is personally quite debilitating. It was nice to see it taken a bit more seriously and treated as a genuine phobia people might not want to interact with in their game.
Phobias are no joke. If I'm driving a bee flies into my car I almost crash in a blurry panic
@@miraveta I totally understand that feeling. Once (I don’t know how) a spider got into my car’s sun visor; when it crawled out onto the inside of my windshield I pulled over, lept from my car, and had a panic attack.

Daniel's reaction to the window getting small is amazing. 19:42 I really hope he finishes the game and customize the arm!
Its a shame there's not more comments praising the way this game was made. With a background in music this game does a lot of neat tricks to promote 'feeling' the rhythm as the way to beat it instead of watching. Notice how many times Dan does better when he starts moving more and more of his body. Yeah, when there's many parts the visual cues become more important, but the game really tries to reinforce pattern recognition and cleverly places all the hits accept the 'boosted' ones on down beats or up beats even if it sounds like its much more off-rhythm. This game is so cleverly made and I thinks its clear to see in Dan's gameplay just how well it actually works. He improves in some areas so quickly and I bet if he went back to that other rhythm game (can't remember the name) he would do a lot better this time around.

I think its because most Rhythm games tend to be all about playing the song as if you're playing DDR on a piano or being some alternative form like Guitar hero: It's a midi file with some plain visual cue. Rhythm Doctor makes an effort to bring that story/visual experience that RPGs or other genres have and making the game part of it pulled into the context-- like the RH games do.
I have never, in all my time on KZhead, stopped a video in the middle, so I could go buy the game and play it for myself. This game is just that good.

i've rewatched this so many times and yet it JUST hit me... cole brew... 'cold brew'... nicole ting... 'nicotine'.........
This is actually so many steps above Dan's attempts at rhythm heaven Im impressed
not only is this an awesome rhythm game with brilliant music but it also has a really important message for the real world we should definitely support games like this especially when they he remind us of how much pressure doctors are under at the moment specially in the NHS. clapping is not enough
After watching his trombone champ gameplay, I am confident that the title is a lie. that bastard has got rhythm to spare
Maybe RT hates trombones
Well he's saying that he doesn't have rhythm, but look at what he's doing right there! That's a real nice groove he was starting to move. RT, you've got rhythm to spare.
@@pm146 I have no idea what you're talking about, he's got as much rhythm as that chair
@@leomathias3245 What happened to RT was a tragedy, But he doesn't have to be a millionaire!
@@jakogaming6899 Folks, he's got a sweet gig going on there, got all the games that he can play.
RT truly has rhythm from playing all those rhythm heaven. Who knows, maybe we can eventually see him sing the ABCs without being offkey.
rhythm =/= pitch
Im not gonna lie The song at 27:17 was so good i actually started tearing up
i loooove the composers other stuff so much - aethoro's music is genuinely incredible LOL
Ok, this game went from "I want it" to "I NEED IT" with that boss fight moving the game window
YESSSSSS so happy you played this, rhythm doctor is amazing and I really hope it gets more recognition
sorry ur comment used to have 69 likes but i wanted to like it
I did not expect this! The visuals really helped Dan to actually be pretty good. I have the same problem, I think this is the Rhytm game for me! Playing Rhythm with the eyes
in my experience Rhythm Dr(and other games by the studio) are some of the most audio based rhythm games i've played
You should try Hi fi rush its a rhythm based beat em up, and everything goes to the beat, even cutscenes, stages/backgrounds and UI elements like HP move to the beat
he actually began to be better when he listened to the audio more
The purpose of this game is to make you learn not to rely on the visuals, especially the bosses
It’s so cool how the low health sound acts like a metronome, making it easier to keep time. It’s kinda like a comeback mechanic
So I am a percussionist so I've got to be really good at rhythm right. So it's really interesting to watch you play, and see like you relying heavily at visual cues. Because for me the visual cues mess me up most of the time and I need to listen to the auditory ones. It was really fun to watch you play this, I love seeing people play rhythm games lol.
I'm confident RT has improved with Rhythm Heaven, but if he is my doctor, I'm changing hospitals
Never thought to see the day where rumble tumble games would play Rhythm Doctor, glad to see he finally got his license
This is such a KZhead moment
RT stands for rumble tumble???
@@ressa3524 yes ;3
It’s actually kind of scary how much RT improved in such a short time. At the beginning, he could barely keep up a basic beat, but by halfway through he was keeping rhythm better than some people in my high school orchestra, even with the game flying across the screen. (Yes, some people in my orchestra aren’t the greatest - the group would probably improve noticeably if the director assigned this game as homework.)
So this may be a reach, but I can't help but wonder if the visuals of detecting a heart beat via a string was inspired by this one chinese legend of a male doctor who wasn't allowed to see the patient (because she was the emperor's wife), but he was skilled enough to detect her pulse from a string attached to her arm, therefore still being able to diagnose her illness without seeing her directly. Only reason I mention this is because the game's voicing is in mandarin chinese (all the counting is in chinese), which offers the possibility that the creators may know of this story
