  • For those curious, the way Monkey Watch works is: - Normal monkeys: Every other beat - one - *TWO* - one - *TWO* - Purple monkeys: Two "offbeats" in a row. An "offbeat" is the point directly between two beats, so if you're counting to the beat of a song, "one and two and three and four and", the "ands" are the off-beats. You can see how this works in the minigame Lockstep from Rhythm Heaven DS. So the transition looks something like this: one - *TWO* - one - *TWO* one *AND* two *AND* one - *TWO* - one - *TWO*

    @grim66@grim662 жыл бұрын

    • There are no triplets, it seems you're referring to dotted-eighths like 20:31. Dotted eighths are 3/4 of a beat, while triplets would be 1/3 or 2/3 or some third of a beat. The difference is 3 on the top or bottom fraction number.

    • Some of my personal favorite scenarios in other games include a girl having a sleepover on a giant bed with 24 monkeys, a person kicking a soccer ball up with their legs in space, birds training for the military, quickly eating dumplings so fast that it qualifies as an act for the circus, lizards dancing to mate with each other, and a girl singing and putting on a concert to sing about love for an audience of monkeys. Rhythm Heaven is bonkers and I love every second of it.

  • I think RT's lack of understanding of how this game works was almost perfectly encapsulated by the times he would "mimic" the stage after playing it. Specifically after Ringside and Love Rap, where he'd say the complete wrong response to the input, even after JUST playing it. And then after Packing Pests where he didn't recognize that there was a RHYTHM to the patterns. in a RHYTHM game. He put all his skill points in Mario Galaxy and being Irish, there is no room for groove.
