I'm not for sure, but most likely it's the motor trim. You trim the motor down going into a turn, then trim it up going into a straightaway. The higher you can trim the motor, you get more of the boat out of the water. Which gives less drag and more speed. But if you trim too high, you'll blow the boat over. Trimming down going into a turn, sets the sponson into the water to help make the sharp turns.

Mercury 2.5 litre Optimax producing 450bhp I believe :)

2.5 Champ, F1, or S3000. Different for each series etc. In Modified form up to 450 HP. Stock about 300 at the prop.

There are too many bots in the race the water will be rough for the bots behind they will not get to peform as the should. The boat that get to drive off first he will be infront all the time because the water will be smooth for them.

Do these drivers have spotters to let them know if someone is on the side of them going into the turns? 10:39 is a good example.
