  • A Peugeot family wagon that’s as quick to 100km/h as a BA xr6 turbo. If you were told that in 2002, would you have believed it?

  • Excuse my ignorance please. Being a plug in EV hybrid, does that mean the petrol engine doesn’t charge the batteries at all and the only electrical charge is via means of a power point? Have to admit it is a very nice car!

    @Cammo-vp1gl@Cammo-vp1gl Жыл бұрын
    • Hi, No problem. The petrol engine can charge the battery when the user puts the vehicle into a specific driving mode; 'e-SAVE' (we used it to charge the battery to full prior to Vbox testing). It does require about an hour or more of driving in this mode for the battery to reach 100% though, and the petrol engine does use more fuel/is under more load during this time. However, the vehicle can provide some charge during driving in normal conditions as well, such as during braking. But the best/quickest way to achieve a full battery is to simply plug it in. Also worth noting, you don't have to charge the battery at all if you don't want to. The car will continue to drive normally even when the battery level drops right down. Hope that helps.

    • The Lexus has great built quality. However, the tech is 5 years behind the 3008's.

    • @@vkgiotis I’d agree with you about other Lexuses with that horrid touchpad controller, but the NX is the first to depart from that and actually has a really good system. Great blend of tactility and modernity, can’t believe I’m saying that about a Lexus interior - the previous ones looked like an 90s DVD player.

    • Better reliability (basically polar opposites), better build quality, much better resale value and customer service that goes beyond other luxury brands - let alone this mainstream one with few dealers at that. Not to mention Toyota has nailed their hybrid system down so that it’s smoother than most other brands implementation of a hybrid.

    • @@User-cb4jm Peugeot has been one of the most reliable brands over the last 5 years and fact is the 3008 finished number 1 in the JD report. It's also won over 65 international awards including European Car of the year award. This variant looks sensational too.Your point on customer service has merit though.

    • @@gregrobins5615 if that was true everyone would buy a Peugeot. Unfortunately these cars brake down as usual. Maybe during the first 3 years of ownership people dont have many problems with them but after that you start looking for a car mechanic. I would always buy Lexus over any peugeot.

  • 95K drive away LOL. You'd have to be insane to buy this over a TI-L hybrid X trail AWD (62K driveaway). if you want to spend 33K more for 1 second faster 0-100 and a French badge, be my guest. The Nissan is solely charged from its petrol engine, has a HUD, looks every bit as premium inside, has a better driving position for tall people who need the wheel up (which obscures the gauges in the Peugeot). It also has a front centre airbag for head collision protection, looks just as smart outside and has 7 seat option. No contest for me. I can't see one thing this Peugeot does better other than slightly quicker to 100. Big whoop. For that money if I wanted fast I'd be looking at a demo RSQ3 or brand new Tiguan R anyway. Heck, I thought the Outlander was priced stupidly at 73K driveway vs the X trail, but I'd choose that over this as well. Almost 100 grand for a little French SUV is just ludicrous. It's barely bigger than my Ateca (like 5 cm longer), markedly slower, and 30 grand more. Crazy. To make up 30 thousand dollars in fuel bills would take more than a lifetime with current electricity rates anyway. Silly, silly, silly.
