No way
Hell yes
Nope not even if I had to walk
Really, no way
Really, no way
If you asked me…Buick could survive purely on bringing back the 1972 Boat tail Riviera. Just upgrade the interior with leather, updated creature comforts & new colors. I’d buy one in a heartbeat & I’m pretty sure I’m not alone ✌🏾
I would buy one as well, Question how do you feel about Buick bring back the 71 Centurion , Park Avenue Ultra, Electra 225, Skylar Stage 1,2 GSX and lastly The LaCrosse?? Mainly Rwd And Awd
@@samueljackson2478 it’d be nice to see. And I think they hit a home run with that Lacrosse 👍🏾 !
Looks nicety!!!
Naw you not alone at all in that…those swept tail riviera were beautiful!! And they had a lot of technological features ahead of its time!! My pops had a red w/white leather interior
I don't know I get what you're thinking and that would be great but you're talking gm here
Well I had an 86 regal T-Type and I had it running 10.80s ! One of the fastest cars I ever had ! I still miss it today....
My first car was a 83 Buick Regal with the 3.8L V6. I put 300K miles on it! I think your concept would bring Buick into the 21 century!!
Having grown up in a Buick dealership in the fifties and sixties I've driven all the really neat Buicks, the Skylark, Wildcat and Rivieras GS 's. I'd definitely buy one if I could afford it and wasn't 72 years old.
Age would be in your favor, dude. If your credit is clean, I'd say they might very well, write you a loan for one! It takes them about three or four months to haul a new car for non-payment, maybe more time than that with today's still-dodgy stock market. I would suggest also, the last thing GM needs is a story about a kid who loved Buicks as a kid and this was one last time to ride the dream..Call the local TV stations and practice fighting back tears. Sooner or later, GM will relent in full publicity to letting you keep the car for free, gratis. Keep us posted. However, read my comments about the only way I see GM marketing this and others correctly.
I once owned a 1987 Grand national and yes I would love to have this version 😍
Me too but mine was an 86.
That concept Grand National you came up with is absolutely GORGEOUS in my humble opinion! I'm definitely not against the revival of nameplates, I just don't want it done "wrong!" Perfect example, I've been itching for Acura to bring back the Legend but I'm equally as nervous since I saw what they did with the Integra! 😕
Same here, that Integra was disappointing. They ignored all the serious but playful elements from the original. I hope they never revive a legend using the current staff of designers. That said, the AI generated GN needs to be resolved. I hope designers don't get lazy with the current AI tech and depend on it as their only means of creativity.
The concept one looks like Mazdas look right now
My first car was a '91 Legend so I would be all about bringing that name plate back! That said, I, too, am nervous of what it would look like. The best example of a bad revamp is the Thunderbird. They had a couple of redesigns and they were both horrible!
The “Legend” was a great ride indeed!
@@Bobby-li9th Agreed. While it certainly looked Thunderbirdish, there was nothing appealing about that car. And I owned a Tbird. Don't get so retro with the cars that you lose all functionality, practicality, and fun.
A twin turbo 400+ hp Buick?? Hell yeah!! Style, comfort and speed meshed together? Yes!! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤ Great idea! I'm sure it would have a nice price tag but add navigation and some fancy features 😜✌️
yes retro is the way to go!
I absolutely loved the Avista when I first saw it and it still doesn’t disappoint. It’s such a gorgeous design and I never thought about a Buick but I would definitely buy one of them. So crazy with all the acclaim that they never brought it to production.
I can't believe it, it's a buick!!
It's a shame that so many car divisions are managed by politically connected morons, instead of by people with foresight and imagination. Now some overpaid masturbator is killing the Chevy Camaro.
I love the design. Being 67, may be too hard to get in and out of it would turn heads and looks fun to drive. Thinks it’s a good direction and would need a test drive to see it’s visibility and ease in entering and exiting that beautiful automobile
As long as it,s rear wheel drive.
I am a Buick fan .... I had in my younger years a 1965 Buick Gran Sport , had a 445 wildcat engine , 4 on the floor ..... loved that car .
I would definitely buy one and maybe two or three. I like the look-alike the stance it's awesome. Buick needs it needs this now.
I lIKE IT.... YES A NEW GNX....GRAND NATIONAL IS NEEDED ASAP.....RESPECT
I would buy one. Even though I am a ford guy we owned a 1978 Buick Regal limited it was not a fast car however it was very dependable and luxurious. I always liked the Regals and the GNX regals. I hope they bring it back.
Would it come with the prescription pill organizer standard? Or as an available option? What about walker storage? Seating materials that are easily cleaned for the incontinence?
Stunning design! Absolutely looks fast! Would purchase if available!
Great job, I would by one tomorrow as long as, the price was right! You're right Buick dropped the ball by not moving forward with the concept Grand National they previewed in 2016. They're still chasing and have nothing to compete with most of the other brands. Hopefully, they'll wake up and catch up with the times.
I would grab that asap! Pays homage yet looks modern without going over the top.
I would love to have one of them. It looks fantastic. I love the long, slick look to the car. I would definitely buy one.
That concept picture on the video looks amazing! I love the old one and currently drive a Buick regal tourx. It's my first Buick/Opel and it's turned me onto the brand.
Yes Buick needs this to happen!
Yea Buick need this to happen
They do but they won’t. This is GM we’re taking about.
Coupes are dead no one's is scooching up to let someone in behind you turn this same shape into a coupe looking sedan 4dr sedan with the rear door handle intergrated in the rear pillar
My first car was the 1949 Super straight 8...Loved it as a teen and wish to have one today for car shows and just cruising with windows down...
I was fortunate to own a grand national and a GNX number 191 off the assembly line. I don't have them anymore. One was stripped, and my GNX were stolen. But I can say they were both great cars. Love to see them get another grand national back out there.👍🏾
yes yes yes I have always loved buicks. bring them back please!!!
That is a gorgeous concept car. Let's hope the designers win out over bean counters and we get this car. A large even more luxurious V8 grand tourer called a Riviera would be exciting.
The zero imagination 'bean counters' don't know diddly squat about the public's wants and interests, nor do they care. Their goal is to build it CHEAP, paint it several different pretty colors and let the dummies pick one. That's exactly WHY the Japanese auto industry was able to eat their lunch and finally force them to build better/safer/longer lasting vehicles. Sadly, the nitwits STILL haven't learned their lesson.
As the owner of 2 Buicks I could own a third. I have a LaSabra and ParkAvenue. Hmmm, how about all wheel drive? I live in Montana, and would want to drive it year around. 😅❤
He forgot one of the main points... the Original Grand National was faster than the Corvette that year, which was what caused it to be so notable. So.... In order to pull a repeat, it would have to be a C8 Killer.
Yes and if it wasn't for that, being the best of the worst at the time, it likely would be a forgotten footnote in car history. A Buick beating a Corvette will never happen again. GM will see to that. Unless it is electric, in which case they are all crazy fast anyway.
Wow! Beautiful! If only they had this much vision…and actually produced this streamlined beauty! It looks as good as any Aston Martin!
I owned a 1987 GN from new for 8 years...stupidly sold it in 1995 with 31k miles on it. I currently have a 2002 Camaro SS convertible for my fun car but I would definitely buy the Avista or your updated concept. Both look awesome!
This design is great! I myself think there should be some small details paying homage to the Grand National. This along with maybe some more trims would be the start of a turning point Buick needs to get out of its “old man car” era.
The newly redesigned Buick sedan looks gorgeous I would definitely like to buy one as long as it's not priced too ridiculously high
Like the GNX logo? Maybe the grand national logo and make it a anniversary type a deal to pay it's homage, that's what I think they should do, so therefore it can compete with the current muscle cars just like it did in the old days.
I really like my 2020 buick enclave. People tease me for driving a buick, until they ride in it. It's super comfortable, quiet ride, and TONS of room. And it looks good, compared to the competition. It feels like I'm sitting on a couch in the living room. But.... the transmission makes it feel like I'm driving a couch, too
Your Buick you just described is a grandpa's car! 😅
@Anthony Nguyen don't diss it til you try it! Lmao it's great for commuting. I have another car when I need something sporty.
@@ajhill5094 I am not dissing it but you DID describe a grandpa's car. I am driving a mini van for christ's sake! 🤣
@@anthonynguyen9779 No point in driving anything but a grandpa car unless you’re going to be constantly speeding and need performance handling.
If it looks anything like the Avista...in a heartbeat! What a gorgeous looking car! 🥰🥰🥰
I would love to buy one...I have been watching for the upcoming 2024 Wildcat but I'm not sure if I am ready for all electric ....
The last Buick I owned was a 1995 Riviera , it was a show stopper . I would buy this one in a heart beat !!!
Enjoyed your futuristic perception of what the new Buick infra structure and design should be. Would I buy one, we will just have to wait and see the final rendering should this make it to market.
My dad was a Buick man. The issues that he had were electrial. There was a short that kept draining the battery and no one could figure it out. He'd always carry a jumper pack to get it started.
That 80s Grand National is sick. Jay Leno found a brand new 1 at a dealership for his show.
Great look, I have always loved the name, " Buick Wildcat"
Yeah, I would love to see that one. If I weren't all about the stang, yes, I would buy one. Love the rendering.
Would like to see a '67 Riviera release, with the same body work and updated suspension. I have a '14 Charger 100th Anniversary Edition, and the weight, wheelbase and horsepower figures are nearly identical. But the '67 had about 100 more lb-ft of torque from the 430 engine.
I love how they integrated the digital screens into the dash and console.
I own a 87’ GN with just under 9k miles. I would buy the updated model in a heartbeat. Beautiful lines and power to match, bring it on.
Even after all these years the Grand National GXP is classic good looking Vehicle, a guy I use to work with father owned one and use to service it with us
Yes, I would buy one
I’d give it a serious look. Looks gorgeous. If the price point / warranty etc was competitive, I might be persuaded to by first GM car since 1986.
If it comes with the power plant you mentioned, or something with more power (never turn down more HP) I'd be highly interested in it. Buying it would depend on other things for me, but it would be on my extremely short 'cars worth buying' list.
Yes!!! Great Look, Great Car, Great lines! Thanks.
Best Buick concept ever
The Avista is breathtaking
Absolutely but I'm sure the sticker price will be in range of up to $60,000+
Beautiful car... I would buy one in a heartbeat. I've always liked old Buicks. In the 80's a GNX was my dream car. The way a Grand National could plant your ass and get gone was really impressive. Smoking Mustangs and Camaros with a V6 !!! It was a wonderful time to be a teenager.
One of the cars that I owned at one time and made a mistake taking the fender off of it thinking I could fix the air conditioner myself. Was a 1966 Buick skylark two-door small V-8 car run good felt like you were sitting on a cloud while you were driving it down the highway. The only other bad thing was it was rusted out from the firewall all the way to the rear bumper. Now on your new Buick that you’re coming out with I would have to have A tower windshield so I could see out of the car other than that it’s beautiful looking vehicle I like the body style and I love the power under the hood but I don’t have the money. 👍👍👍👍👍
Yes I would buy! They need to offer it with awd and rwd.. give it the v6T or the 6.2 and the order book would be full
Not only this car should come back but would really like Buick to bring back the Riviera and have it in multiple color choices and most of all put the 5 lug nut 20 x 7 wire spoke wheels and chrome features to give it a classic look would make this car amazingly beautiful... if they do bring the Buick Riviera, I would definitely buy one in a heartbeat
Love the original. Love what you came up with as well.
I miss my 87 GN ! Great job ! I would want one !
Hell yes I would buy one. Also think the boat tail Rivera is a good idea.
I would buy one. My family always bought Buick's, including my aunts Buick Opel. That was something... My 1st car was a Buick regal gs. My uncle gave it to me. The landau top would fly up on the highway, but I didn't care. It was big and fast....I've been waiting for a hot Buick sports coupe...
I owned an 86 T-Type white with velour interior tinted t tops man I loved that car never driven fast by me just cruise … I sorely miss her
Build it and they will come.Beautiful
Inside word is Chevrolet was not happy with the Avista and was worried it would scavenge sales away from the struggling Camaro. Chevy lobbied hard to the board not to build the Avista. Buick still tried to save it, and built 4-door mockup version to convince the board (and the Camaro team), but sadly, the project was killed. *Sound familiar Fiero folks?
Makes sense, because I bought a 6th gen Camaro SS....and had this been an option instead there would have been no debate.
Stunning design! I test drove an ‘87 Grand Nat back in the day…ridiculous beast of a car! If this reincarnation came out, it would be huge!
The coolest Buick I ever saw was in 1967. It was a new silver Riviera. A beloved family member drove it. All the glass was like an inch thick, bulletproof, latest technology. The doors and trunk were outfitted with bulletproof steel plates. Because of all the extra weight (he told me) there was some kind of gigantic replacement engine. I know it was very fast. I believe the tires had some self-sealing capability. While the license plate on back said Georgia, on front was a European plate arrangement. The man who drove this car in 1967 would frequently pass back and forth across the Iron Curtain, from West to East Berlin at will. Cool car. Cool man.
Yes I Would Buy One ! I had a 1976 Regal Sport - Beautiful Line !
If you took the 330hp 3.6 V6, and twin turboed it to 550hp, then HELL YEAH 👍
It’s a crying shame that this car hasn’t made it into production yet, it’s a piece of art and is wicked at the same time
Yep, cause the hellcats, demons, mustang and camaro ss and z28 needs a competitor that would keep up with them, I was hoping the buick grand national GNX would make a comeback and take back the streets.
I wish they did bring back the Buick grand national because I would want to buy it, I used to own an 80's model Buick regal 2 door that I put a bigger engine in
I’d buy one in a heartbeat. The lines are absolutely gorgeous and the only hesitation I would have is if it’s only electric. Even though I’m not a fan of electric vehicles, I would still buy this beautiful car.
I'm liking this. Of course, there would be that 100,000 price tag! I'm here for it!
Yes I would buy one, and promptly put a Riviera badge on it!
Yes. Although I'd want a front wheel drive version (better in snow).
That’s got me ! The concept car is a beauty
Good looking car design you came up with Brian. I fall under the old folk label but, I would buy one those Buicks for sure.
Glad you like it Ric, thanks for the continued support as always!
@@BrianMello No worries love your channel.
Not sure would purchase one but I definitely agree with you it would be a hit for Buick. 👍
Especially with rear wheel drive. Anything that GM put together with front wheel claiming performance always suckked and was short lived....
I remember when Buick made decent cars... My favorite car was (and still is, aside from my '71 Torino with a 351 Cleveland out of a Mach One. Tough Choice!) my 1977 Electra Limited with the Olds 403 V8... 60 to 120 in 4 seconds, rode like a living room, plush crushed velour interior. Loved that car. Flash forward to 1999, I'm finally at at point where I can consider a new car, so of course I look to Buick. Got a '99 Buick Century that tanked after 70,000 miles with that awful 3.1 litre V6; As with anyone I've asked, be it Chevy, Olds, Buick, or Pontiac, the head gasket blew at @ 70K only 2 years in. The warranty didn't cover it... gaskets aren't covered (not even an $800 gasket, which was quite a sum at the time)! That was the last time I even considered anything out of Detroit, as they were still wed to the 100K and Done planned-obsolescence mind-set. 3 Hondas and a Lexus later I haven't seen anything that would change my mind. The (former) Big Three always come out with these really great-looking concepts, but so far only Chrysler has actually put any of them into production. You can get a Custom 2024 Chevelle SS now (for the price of a small house), but it's not even made by Chevy. The Avista was gorgeous, as is your design, but it would still be made by GM, and after making Accords for 21 years I find GM's to be a consistent disappointment.
I would definitely buy one
I like the very muscular rear wheel arches you gave it. Although I know it's impractical aero-wise, but that 90° notch-back rear window is such a huge part of this cars look. If Buick tied this in with Nascar, and got the xfinity series(or whatever it is now) to go turbo-6, it would be epic for GM.
I totally disagree, nascar get involved with the design will be a sure killer!!!!!!!!! With their aerodynamic nonsense lol Thats why Dodge got out of the silly game, nascar wasnt going to tell them how the design their cars and my goodness have they sold a lot of their RWD cars without nascar input.
@@DariusFloyd I was referring more to Buick reviving the Grand National series with Nascar, not so much as designing the car. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
With the inflated prices of today, I get the feeling that a new Buick Grand National would be a car that the average person could afford. Would I buy one? Possibly... after all, it looks great and those engine specs are enticing
I would definitely buy one. This is a really slick design and add the extra 475 hp performance to this thing it would be a game changer for Buick.
I had an 87 as well, I loved it, I just think that there still needs to be some callbacks aesthetically to a rebooted Grand national.. and you definitely cannot go without the Grand national badge or the turbo 6 insignia
The #1 car on my Fantasy Garage 🖤
I'm not a GM fan, but I've always loved the Grand National. It was out during my college years, and I couldn't come close to affording one. Now that I can afford one, I would love to see the vehicle you presented become a reality. I wish the American car companies weren't so in love with trucks and SUV's. Some of us still crave a sports car!
Yes, I love it👏👍
Absolutely gorgeous, i would definitely be on the list for one.
If you keep the model just the way it is there will be really big sales for the Grand national turbo Hell I would buy one
Your design looks better than the actual Avista. But in my honest opinion, a current GNX should be based on a current Regal as well. Redesign the Regal to make it look slightly more square ish, make a two doors version and call it Grand National and GNX.
Your concept car gorgeous. I’d buy one in a heartbeat! Got an ‘05 LeSabre which is real good looking all fixed up.
Yeah that styling is 🔥 I would definitely buy one !
I'd totally think about it, depending on the price tag and actual availability.
Looks fantastic. Yes I'd love to get one. Better than anything else out there.
I like both that Avista and your Grand National Concept sketch! Yes I would buy it!
I owned a 1973 Buick Regal back in the 1970s and after the 350 CI engine ran 125,000 miles it started using oil. I looked around my city for a replacement and found a big block Chevy engine that had been highly modified and made of aluminum. I bought it, had to change the drive chain out, and did a bit of modification to get it to fit, put headers on it and I had a vehicle that never lost a street race! The only problem is jimmy carter was in the White House and the car was only getting 4 miles per gallon of gas! It was fun though.
I'd consider depending on price! 💯 And I loved the Vista concept as well, and would've considered, but it never came to fruition. 👎I have the Regal now, and I am happy with it. Pretty sleek and quick for an "old man car" 🤣
I’ll buy one for sure. This thing is sick!
Yes I would.I had an 86 grand national I loved.I have a 2021 corvette now and it think this cat is very sweet
I'M AN OLD CAR KIND OF GUY BUT THAT BUICK IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!
I would love to see a solid straight6 turbo that would compete against the vr38, vr30, and BMW 6's... an updated version of something like the 2JZ would be tough... Ford had thr Barra that we never received. If GM made a tuner friendly straight 6 that could stand the test of time and power and build around it with equally stout T56, nothing less than magic would occur.
Very sporty and futuristic. Definitely would purchase.
Absolutely 💯 ...Buick design and power is a total success hell...yes I would run out and buy one.. the design along with power is absolutely out of this world...
Hell yes I’d buy it! Gorgeous
