Step Drill Bit Hand Tool - Tool Making

Hello my dear friends, I am happy to be with you again.
This story is about a hand tool. I turned a step drill bit, which I use a lot in my wood and metal work, into a hand tool.
As you know, I love the mixture of wood and brass metal. In my opinion this tool was quite aesthetic. In addition to functionality, the form of the object is also important to me.
There is an even more important issue for me when turning my works into stories; To present you the few days I spent in my workshop in the most delicious way.
I have been sharing my works with you for a long time and I discover something new about myself with each work I do and his process makes me very happy. The idea of taking a little tasty craft break is getting stronger every day. A small respite from our fast-consuming, impatient and devoid of aesthetics world.
In my life, which is far from trends and a little outdated, there are flavors that I am after. Thank you all very much for sharing and making me feel that I am not alone in this journey.
In this work, I will present examples of wood and metal workmanship. There are also alternative and simple approaches to wood turning techniques.
I do not record how-to videos. If you have any questions, please ask, I am always happy to answer. Also share your thoughts and different approaches, I would love to listen.
I hope this work will be a good accompaniment to your time while drinking your coffee or a glass of whiskey.
I am happy to share with you this work in which I have lived the four seasons of my life, and I dedicate this work to my beloved nature and animals.
Deepest greetings from me, my cat co-workers and singing seagulls to all of you.
byOldHand.
Don't forget to like and subscribe, I would be glad.

    • I totally agree, aesthetics are very important, especially in things you use all the time. While I'm also a fan of science fiction, I was really delighted when in a series one of the character's was given a crystal and gold rose by her father who was now part alien and she was like okay? What's this for and he told her she could use it to communicate with him any time. Way better than a cell phone any day.

  • Wood buffed with beeswax and brass is poetry. I missed this little gem, a delightful slow offering, but catching up now. I work in the job with my mind, not with my hands, and find that I awake every day longing to be in my workshop or restoring my old house. I need to be creating with my hands, with the same attention to detail that I see I your videos… not only useful items, but things of beauty. And that process starts with one’s tools. Thank you for taking the time to share this, you’re always inspiring!

Having found your short films, they ate just that.....short films, I am taking steps to create my own workshop, and gaining confidence and proficiency watching you. It is possible to stop being a policeman and start on a calmer and peaceful path in my life. Thank you

I imagine that sounds odd to some. But, this is what is pleasing to me. Anyways, I look forward to seeing what is next. Until then, 🥃.

Because I had no experience of how these things work, I never expected the tool to be cut. :) But you made me very happy at the end of the video, it was one of the most relaxing videos I've ever watched.I smiled big when I heard the cat purring at the end. He checked and approved. Very good workmanship. Thank you with my most sincere feelings.

[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
