  • I'm in the USA and this answered alot of my questions. Had to do some quick math from bullshit to freedom units but all in all a good video

    • Glad it was informative for you buddy, I’m definitely going to upgrade to hydraulic or air over to aid usage and 😂😂😂 I should of used bananas instead of the metric system for you 🤣

  • I love my JD2 bender too, and hydraulic setups for this readily available in North America.. Hydraulic is the way to go, makes life easier and you don't have to fix the bender to the floor or table.. I wish mini parts were as readily available in North America like they are in the UK 😀

    • I’d love to swap this to hydraulic it’s just not cheap over here, pretty much everything over here is expensive lol

    • yes mate they are good, id defiantly recommend saving that little bit longer and going hydraulic for a more accurate bend

  • skidmore. take a look at SWAG machined tube ram mount. It holds the ram in the bending axis. Thanks for your vid. will be ordering mine in a couple months & the SWAG ram mount tube.

  • The jd people said no need for oil on the die. They use a specially treated metal with their dies. Saw it on their video

    @samcarrs@samcarrs Жыл бұрын
    • Yer mate you will still need a little oil as the former will fuck up really quick being metal on metal. It picks up on any little scratch on the tube and causes a right mess then every bend after that is marked

  • Great video mate, really informative. I’m looking at making my own ladder for the back of a camper van, but need to bend in two directions, any idea how this is achieved?

    @theclayfam@theclayfam8 ай бұрын
    • Hi buddy, glad you found it helpful. I’m guess by the “two direction” do you mean a left and right bend to make a S shape with tube carrying on in the same direction or a say a 90’ bent then turn 90’ and bend a further 90’. It’s a hard one to answer without seeing the project to be honest with you. What I will say is there need to be a small straight between bends of around 3” for the clamping area that holds the tube to the die, also much planning on what bends in what order so’s not to back yourself into a corner. I have got to bend some tube very soon so I could throw some in and see, I’m guessing 1” tube is all that’s needed

    • @@skiddym84 hey thanks for your detailed reply, nahh that’s not what I was trying to say, sorry for confusion - I’m after more of a spiral, a bend with rotation at the same point, I could send a photo of exactly what I’m trying to make, but can’t send in here

  • I have the model 3 and made it hydraulic for less than 500$ with eBay parts I just push a pedal and sit back watch a dial

  • Hello friend Could you tell me what is the diameter of the pulley to bend a 2" tube? I'm building a folder at home and I don't have the pulley measurements and I'm afraid to make a small pulley.

    • Hi buddy the biggest I have is 45mm tube. I’ll have to go look at the CLR for you when I get home as I can’t remember off the top of my head 👍🏻

  • I have an air over hydraulic from Harbor Freight and it works amazing! If you want, I'll ship ya one. Let me know.

    @ericthompson2920@ericthompson29209 ай бұрын
    • the shipping would be daft money coming to the uk as our government are robbing buggers, there is a kit over here for around £500 that's on my to buy list one day with a arc droid but also shipping is mad expensive from the states

      @skiddym84@skiddym844 ай бұрын
  • Could possibly use an acme screw thread instead of hydraulics, I would imagine it's a good bit cheaper

    @papaul69@papaul692 жыл бұрын
    • I would agree mate only problem is it would need to be one beefy screw to it didn’t bend under load
