Bilingual People Vs. Google Translate #2 (Korean, Spanish & Arabic)
The Korean thing about the goblet of fire literally said "Harry, did you paste your name in the kitchen?"
Lmao
😂😂
🤣
First part of the lizzo song legit translates into "I am a big boy, loves itchy small boys."
Isn't it "Harry, did you write your name in the kitchen"? Or am I wrong
The lizzo song in arabic said : i like boys, these arent boys , guys from Mississippi.
Ju yup
*T H E S E. A R E N T. B O Y S*
Yes
هؤلاء ليسوا؟ we don't say that in Arabic
Yess Lol 😂
*"HARRY, DID YOU WRITE YOUR NAME IN THE KITCHEN?"* 💀💀💀💀
Dumbledore asked _calmly_
Elijah Wyn lmaoo
Elijah Wyn its like about to scold a kid who vandalized their home kitchen XD Oh, Pottah
Harry: Maybe. >:)
The arabic one was : " Harry did you call your name in the fire the cup?" lmao
I was desperately waiting for them to put the spanish translation first so I could understand the rest of the languages translations lol
Yeah the other teams gave it away before we get to Spanish so we are already primed for the answer. I want to play along at home!! Show us all the languages then them trying to translate.
We get it you speak Spanish 😂😂
Me too bcz i learn it at school but it was way off xD
Same
@@mangetout9882 Not necessarily. I speak portuguese and but can understand spanish
Korean through google translate is just....... terrible. absolutely. terrible. it doesn't. make. sense. at. all.
Arabic too
Same things for mandarin....
Of course it doesn’t make sense. That’s why it’s a challenge
인정
And Japanese.
Google translate doesn’t mess up Spanish as much as other languages which is why I guess it was easier to decifer then Arabic and Korean
jen_ nah, they just can’t speak their ancestors language.
@@ZarathrustaTate nah the translations are off and that's supposed to be the point. if it was easy, it wouldn't have been entertaining
I think it's because they're translating from English, and out of the other languages in the video , Spanish is the most similar to English
Its true I’ve studied google translate And it pretty much misses up the other languages if the language is not commonly used because it depends on the google search database to align words together
Actually, the spanish one is awful.
To be fair,Sergio should have had double points because he speaks portuguese, not spanish! He did great! Portuguese and spanish sound similar but they are not the same!
Yanela Fabra I think he speaks Spanish too.
@@maracortes2190 I'm not saying he doesn't (I meant about their mother tongue) but it's even more difficult for him! I speak a pretty fluent portuguese but it isn't my native language!
Totally agree with you, I speak as well Portuguese and Spanish and they are different
i speak brasilian portuguese, spanish and portuguese are similar in some words, its not that dificult, but maybe is because i have some spanish in school hahah but this is a really funny challenge
I get your sentiment but just because Spanish isnt his mother tongue doesnt mean he should get double points, as long as hes fluent thats all that matters
Watching this while being fluent in English Spanish and arabic hurts my brain
Trilingual queen/king
I speak English , French and Arabic we trilingual Queens 💓
Yo same ahah
Lol 😂 knowing english spanish and korean, i was cracking up
DumplingTt Ikr...
9:29 sergio *laughs in spanish*
Jajajajajaja 😂
He actually does. 😂😂
Lmfao
That girls name is really ribonucleic acid 😭
That's just the spelling. They pronounce it like the female name Renée.
It’s actually Rana But she removed the A because she wants people to pronounce it with short A not a long A pronunciation.
IKRR finally someone noticed. I'm Arabic and her name is supposed to be written like "Rana" not RNA lmao
Maybe it's just Rna, not full caps-lock RNA
@@kamelea_roze4069 Rana in spanish is Frog Lmao
Some of y'all in the comments did NOT listen to the directions well... after the first, each round gets translated more than once. That's why some of the translations dont seem to make sense.
Google translate from English to Korean is unreliable and inaccurate. Don't use googletranslate, instead you can use Naver translate.
Will do, thanks for the tip.
@@xemnas9098 no problem 👍
Papago seems to be better.
Yeah as a korean it really is horrible to use google translate. Its horrible as korean usage in hollywood. They never get the language right.
I'm genuinely impressed Brandon got the last sentence, even if you have seen Star Wars that one's really hard, the translation was not even close
It's been translated through multiple languages and doesn't follow traditional English rules to begin with
RNA Is just so cute, she always gives out the answers to her mates when she's in those videos
is her name actually pronounced as R-N-A ????
I don't know any of the languages, but when they said, "Is this the real life? Is it just fantasy? ..." I instantly uttered *"caught in a landslide no escape from reality"*
Same here lol
When it's said "Harry did you put your name in the goblet fire" in Arabic it was wrong 😂 I will translate in English it's said "harry did you call your name in the fire cup" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
For the Korean one, I was so confused but tbh I don’t even know how to say Goblet in Korean 😂😂😂😂 google translate is so off
In Spanish it said fire transmitter like whyyy we have a word for goblet 😂😂😂
The Korean said “Harry, did you write your name in the kitchen?” 😂
true
Sergio saying in Spanish "Hasta la vista, chula" at 11:03 made my day. There are incredible reactors with different multicultural backgrounds, taking advantage of that is not just fun but an incredible idea. Please do more!
Wouldn’t it be funny if one of the people were like, “I’m not bilingual”
Drew Saluk MURICA!!!
the last 2 Arabic sentences literally had no correlation to original English one.
Bro I got bohemian rhapsody right away and I’m not even fluent in Spanish 😂
"Hacer o no hacer. Aquí no hay intentos." “Do or do not. There is no try.” - Yoda ;D
You don't really need the aquí either. Just "No hay intentes."
I thought it was “Haz o no. No hay intentos.”
@@neoftg1589 Este está mejor xd
It's a famous quote, you can't just make up your own translation. It's either "Hazlo o no lo hagas, pero no lo intentes" (European Spanish) or "Hazlo o déjalo, no hay intentos" (Latin American Spanish).
The line in spanish actually is “hazlo o no lo hagas, pero no lo intentes” que sería “do it or don’t do it, but don’t try”
the way brandon read harry and immediately knew the quote is why he’s my favorite 😂
I'm Arab but trying to understand this was so frustrating for some reason. the robot voices just make my ears blood
Same
Park Jimin bleed* and same actually robotic voice hurts in google translate so much
Park Jimin I feel you, also the dialectic is hard for me
Your grammar makes my eyes blood.
The robots make my ears blood too
Arabic language and google translate don’t go well together we know this. As a fellow Arabic speaker, hearing that translation was physically painful lmao.
same lol
نعم
Na dude it was somewhat understandable except that Mississippi boys sentence...that made no sense
Hahaha so true
Same
"Harry did you put your name in the cup of fire" Potterheads: *screaming*
Cup of fire actually made me scream
@@100simping6 me too me too
"Did you put your name in the fire transmitter?" Lmao. Also "Harry, Did you put your name in the FIRE CUP?" 😂😂
Honestly kinda impressed with the Arabic translate in the beginning because Arabic is such a hard language to translate but the last 2 sentences were way off😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My friend was taking Arabic at university, but it was so hard that almost everyone dropped the class. The school had to cut the entire class.
I really like this "people vs Google translate" episodes. Please do more.
Korean guy: What's 항상? Korean girl: You don't know 항상? WHAT THE- Same 🤣
Grace Osas For korean, you’d have to really know the quote to be able to get it. It was all over the place xD
"항상" though right? it was "always" he forgot
Camilla Ek Yeah, it’s “always”. Sometimes when something gets translated and the grammar is so wrong, you have no idea what the words mean
I dont speak korean what did it mean
@@ace.aspade.s always
The last arabic translation only had half the saying, it just had “there is no try”
Ikr, "daribia" or "ضريبية" translates to something closer to taxes
It was the similar with the Korean. I got, "Not attempt attempt." which is not too bad. But the second sentence is not there at all.
*listens intently to the arabic and korean even though i don't know anything about either*
This was HILARIOUS! Brandon is the man, his Yoda's voice in spanish is awesome, hahaha. Bien por ti hermano.
Google translate is the drunk friend you are trying to understand but every extra language is another few shots
the closer they lean towards the screen the more wrong google is
I loved this but people are complaining about google translate, they are forgetting that after the first one it gets translated to another language first which can screw google translations up even more, so for the last they translated it from English to 4 other languages before they translated it to the target language which is why it was sooooo difficult. When it translates to other languages and then another and another eventually it will be impossible to understand because certain words aren't in every language so this was to show how bad google translate can be when you start translating multiple times rather than one time.
スパーキーSparky, I‘m not sure they said that this time - at least the explanation of the rules didn‘t make the cut!
Naj Renchelf If it was the same as last time then yes the rules are the same however it would be stupid to keep giving more and more points if it wasn’t translated through multiple languages. I wonder if the rules were said but they cut it because the audience would find it boring.
HARRY, DID YOU WRITE YOUR NAME IN THE *KITCHEN?*
Dumbledore Asks Calmly:" HarRY DiD You PUt YOur NaME IN ThE GobLEt OF fIrE???? (Sorry I just had to, if you read the books you would understand xD)
True, google translate isn’t totally accurate... yet... but it will get you where you need to go.
"Harry, did you write your name in the kitchen?" 😂
Dumbledore said calmly.
As someone who's studying to be a translator, I laughed so much when the reactors tried to make sense out of the broken translation. I also felt their pain of reading bad translations 😂😂😂
With google in Arabic and in Korean Me: “wtf?” With google in Spanish Me “ ohhh “ It wasn’t hard to get what Google said in Spanish, even tho i dont speak it
They were just not good at Arabic and Korean, I wouldn't really call them bilingual.
@@xstoofpeer nah the arabic translation didn't really make sense especially the quotes from hp and yoda
Obviously english seems to be better translated to spanish. That's why I translate japanese to korean and translate spanish, french to english when i use google translator
I would have a heart attack if I was trying to learn Arabic. My brain wouldn’t be able to handle it. Kudos to all of them because having to think in one language when reading another is soooo hard. I did feel proud of my Spanish skills because I could do the Spanish ones. And I’m in the beginning of learning Korean
They probably grew up bilingual so it’s second nature for them.
Eva Danielle lol I’m aribic
I understand you😂we Arabs have difficulties with our language it's really hard for us so I can imagine how hard it is for Learners
It's surprisingly not too difficult, but that could just be the fact I grew up speaking arabic to my grandmother lol! I think we just eventually know what each shape/letter does in terms of the sound. The hard parts figuring out how things are pronounced when connected to other letters because of all the dots, lines, etc that you see floating around the letters. Not to mention half the alphabet looks the same but with minor changes; that can get confusing if you don't take in each detail lmao
9:28 is the laughter I let out at my teacher's bad jokes because I care about my grades. Geez!
Bruh, the Harry one was confusing af. 부엌 in Korean literally means kitchen so when Rebecca said, "Harry, did you write your name in the kitchen" i was like, why don't you guys gave it to her. I'm impressed that Kenneth actually manages to get it.
" لا توجد محاولة ضريبية " meaning is " there is no tax attempt " lol
wael betar صح Google trying to not pay Taxes
hahaha i agree the arabic translation was so shitty
hahahahahahaha !!!!!!
ههههه
Yes lol I was like what the flip does that even mean hahaha
lmao why is it so hard to get someone who genuinely speaks the language like fully
the thing with Arabic is google translate translates words into what we call fos'ha which is like mandarin in china which is what we learn in school but in different Arabic countries people talk in dialects which are different in a lot of ways. So I'm proud of the reactors cause unfortunately even some people who are living in Arab countries who can't fully understand or speak fos'ha which really disappoints me sometimes.
To be honest I do speak fosha very well And I do speak English well too, In my opinion, some of the words like "do or do not. there is no try In fosha it has to become "افعل او لا تفعل ليس هناك محاولة" not "لا توجد محاولة ضريبية" it doesn't make any sense to me. Give me your opinion
@@Hotcheese1309 well I think when translating between languages there are 2 ways: literal translation where u r basically just translating word by word and another way is understanding the meaning of the phrase or whatever and saying it in your own language Saying that the way I'd translate that is" اما ان تفعل او لا تفعل. لا يوجد مجال للمحاولة" and that might not be perfect but that's what I got from Yoda xD
That’s wrong. All Arabs understand Fosha, or are supposed to. If you can’t understand Fosha you can’t understand the dialects either because the dialects are just a different less complex form of the original Fosha. But yes, a lot of Arabs can’t speak proper Fosha because we’re not used to it.
Well I understand where u r coming from and I'm with u that all Arabs should understand Fos'ha but I don't know exactly how old r u and where exactly are u from cause it differs from one country to another but a lot of the younger generations have absolutely no grasp of Fos'ha maybe they can understand it sometimes but cant speak it or speak it but not the way a native speaker should. It frustrates me cause our language is rich and expressive, and I see foreigners speak Fos'ha beautifully sometimes and those are people who had to learn letters they never knew existed .
@@Ahmed-pf3lg I would imagine there's a big difference between folks in Arab-majority countries (who will learn their dialect at home and with their peers but also learn Fos'ha in the classroom) and folks in countries with a different majority language (who will still learn their dialect at home but lack formal instruction in Modern Standard Arabic). These kids will still learn a fair bit by reading or whatever, but obviously it's harder for them than for other Arabs.
turns out i remember more from spanish class in school than i thought! hearing it did nothing but reading it was easier to pick out enough key words to get it. this is a fun challenge
This series is awesome, please do more (Dutch, French, German, Japanese? I'd like to be able to properly participate :D)! It really surprised me no one instantly got Bohemian Rhapsody; I got it after a few seconds and I only know a handful of words in Spanish.
You should have them team up against other pairs instead of against each other! They all seem to have equal trouble, and they all ended up working together anyway.
“Google translate isn’t always right” WAIT is that why I’m failing Spanish 3 😭😭😭
yeah probably
Duolingo is much more accurate than Google Translate.
Blaire Plays yeah but you have to complete sooo many easy questions to actually start learning new stuff
As an explanation for the Korean team, the sentence structuring of korean is different from english so when it gets translated into english it doesn't always make a coherent sentence. There's also the fact that google translate was used and some languages don't always translate over easily when using google translate.
Okay kboo
Brandon speaks Spanish so flawless!
2:21-3:38 *Angrily and desperately sings Bohemian Rhapsody*
I love these videos. As a Spanish speaker, the first three were very obvious, but I wouldn't have guessed the exact words of each quote, really. Like the word "goblet" totally escaped my mind until I read it. Still, easier than the first challenge.
These are always fun! But I'd like to see more languages so maybe expand this to some KZheadrs that you always have come in! If you can't, it's still fun to watch our panel try to solve the quote.
i really love this video and the previous one, i really want more! i love them explaining how badly google screwed up and its fascinating to see them try to translate it back to english even when its not right
Brandon speaking spanish was everything I wanted in my life
I LOVE THAT THERE IS ARABIC!!
I know all of these languages ( well spanish not that much but I know french wich is similar ) and I honestly feel like it comes down more to wethever or not you know the actual quote more than language skills
very true
Brandon speaks Spanish like how did I not know this
MORE OF THIS!! MORE OF THIS!!! Honestly, this is the best series on the channel, and I LOOOOOVEEEEE it. Please more.
Sergio literally said "jajaja" at 9:27
BRUH AS A BILINGUAL PERSON *I WANT TO TRY THIS WITH ALL OF MY FRIENDS*
Wow
@@MBeans.125 uh is that a wow ok no one cares-because thats not very cash cash of you mate 👉👉
Before this video, I thought RNA was just Ribonucleic Acid. Apparently it can also be a name :O
It's actually Rana they missed the a
MOARMYONCE모이태국 its supposed to be written like that : Rana but the the first A is light so they skipped it :)
It is suppose to be a arabic name rana
MOARMYONCE모이태국 it’s pronounced Rana, and spilled that way in English
It It's supposed to be RANA not RNA😂💔
Here's what the other Arabic translations should have looked like: 4:46 هاري، هل وضعت اسمك في كأس النار؟ 6:15 أحب فتياناً كبراء، فتياناً صغاراً، فتياناً ميسيسيبيين، فتياناً من المدن الداخلية. 8:22 افعل أو لا تفعل لا توجد محاولة
Brandon speaking in spanish is everything for me
ikr!!
rebecca: I thought 소년 was girls, ‘cuz 소녀시대. me: *waves my lightstick and squeals*
same! sones unite!
Soneeee slskksksk
For everyone saying "the translations were wrong", that's the point of the video, it's about coherence, which they have to find. If the translations had been totally correct, it would just be them speaking their native language.
I can only here Spanish and English
The last Arabic phrase was so different in the meaning, in Arabic it was more like "There is no harm in trying"
The Arabic translation makes no sense what so ever I’m surprised they figured them out 😂
After watching the two episodes of this new serie...Google translator sucks translating to Spanish. Caught in Spanish is atrapado not convencido
I'm just waiting for the Spanish to try myself and it's always the last one to show up 🙄
But turns out it's more accurate than the other languages.
@@LeonBlackbird It's the closest to English, that's why. lol
@@LeonBlackbird well yeah it's the most similar to English
they should get people who are actually bilingual and that are fully fluent lol
What makes them all not fluent?
Brandi Acuna what did you mean? They are bilingual...
I'm so glad they fixed the Arabic letters this episode
Arabic does have goblet , its قدح
Nameless 😂😂 accurate AF
Nameless صادق 🤣، ويسمونهم ثانئيي اللغة! بالكاد يسمون عرب 🙂
thought everyone just used فيه
But honestly, "كأس النار" makes no sense. it translates to fire cup, not Goblet of Fire
I absolutely love these! Please make more! It would be cool to see folks who spoke languages not as well know if you could find folks in the area.
Yayyy, the Arabic letters are connected this time
“Did you put your name in the fire transmitter”
I wish German was here so I could play along.
Yes. German 😃
You should do a third video of this, with Japanese, Russian, Romanian, and French!
“-마십시오” is just highly polite form of “don’t” (-마요), I found it so funny that they were talking about “마시다” as in drinking 😂😂😂 but tbh I didn’t get that one either because all it said was “don’t attempt” like it was clearly incomplete 😅
You shouldn’t give them individual points when they’re working together
When your sat there trying to figure them out. But then you remember you can’t speak any other language 😂
I got the Bohemian Rhapsody line the second someone said “is this the real life”
I need this with German, I remember my dad using it cause his English is pretty terrible and I had to go over it so it doesn't look like he pressed auto-correct randomly
The Bohemian Rhapsody one - I was offended they didn't guess it faster, lol
I know ... if there's one song everyone should be able to sing word for word after the first line, this is it.
As soon as I saw Harry, _____________? I was like HARRY, DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?!? And I speak none of these languages. (Well, very limited Spanish but that’s it)
I absolutely love this new series!
The fact that I found the Yoda line in Spanish shows how bad I'm at Spanish, but in the same time I'm French, I learned both Spanish and English so I'm a bit impressed by myself
2:29 I can't believe they didn't get the bohemian rhapsody one right away, it was so obvious >:0
“Is this a today line” pffff... he was my master and obviously he speaks elf
I want more of this, this is such a great concept
i love these, knowing more than 1 language it's definately a challenge when it comes to translate
Now I know why the Spanish guys at work laugh at me! Dam you Google translate! Lol
Being someone that studies both Spanish and Korean, I LOVE THESE!!!!
Rebecca did way better than Kenneth in Korean; she should’ve been awarded the points!
Please do more of these. I really enjoyed this.
