Bilingual People Vs. Google Translate: Baking Cookies (Hindi, French, Tamil, Arabic)
It’s funny bc Jasser did most of the steps right, but his turned out the worst, and then Rachel did most of the steps wrong, but hers turned out the best
Just like my grandfathers ones healthy ones not
@@earltaboada huh?
@@MGC-XIII one drinks hes strong One does nothing he fat and cant walk
Because the translation he thought he need to put water in it. If not i think his cookies will turn out the best.
I think Jasser would have one if he hadn't messed up with the flour.
"Not even my grandparents speak like this" 🤣🤣🤣... I'm dying "this is Shakespeare tamil" 🤣🤣
Does anyone use the style of the language that we saw here? Just curious as to why an online translator would do it in a form of the language that's alien even to people who speak that language.
@@lost4eva081980 Google trains the translator AI on whatever text they can find. For some more obscure languages, this could mean they just dumped a bunch of text from scanned books into the AI training database. For all we know, they could have had the Tamil translation of Shakespeare in the training database.
@@lost4eva081980 I think google literally translates the stuff which doesn't correlate in our day to day vocabulary we speak
@@lost4eva081980 Written Tamil is more formal than spoken Tamil. Written Tamil is spoken by news hosts or sung in songs (rarely). Actual spoken Tamil can have different words compared to written depending on the slang and accents.
@@lost4eva081980 also what the other guy said
arabic is separated and reversed nice😂
As always 😂
Typical... but somehow I was confused... and then I was like this is not arabic.. and I looked closer.. and then... I saw it
Ikr it was complete trash like......😂💔
Whoever edited this should’ve done some research... this is so embarrassing
@@zainnajjar6085 ikr, I thought it was Persian for a second lol
The Arabic letters are written backward, That's so wrong man. 😂😂.
I know right
Yeah I couldn’t understand a thing
Exactly 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh really? That’s sooo bad oh my gosh. Like I couldn’t even imagine reading messed up English or telugu backwards.
Yeah I wondered about that when I saw they'd put a full stop to the right of a word.
The Arabic translation is in reverse and the letters are separated apart. I hope it wasn't like this to Jasser😂😂😂
Right lmaooo
I was legit struggling to connect the letters and create a word 😂💔

at least Labib's translation tried to keep him alive "put this food far away" xD
This comment is so underrated XDDD
“Real cooks don’t measure” but real bakers measure 😂
Drums 4 Life This was the exact comment I was looking for
Lol yup! Like with cooking you can usually eyeball it, if you know the recipe well enough, but... you HAVE to be as precise AS POSSIBLE with baking! Everything has to be absolutely perfect or everything goes wrong it’s very stressful lmao Especially with things like meringues? Omg those are difficult lol And the air has to be the right temperature too so that’s always annoying
Also, real bakers WEIGH their dry ingredients, they don't "measure" in cups/tablespoons.
Lolllllllll
Yeah, like rice/ noodles or stir fires and even soups are ok, but for baking, you WANT to measure
I loved this one because Google translate is actually trash sometimes 😂
I agree. :v U can’t imagine how many homeworks I have done wrong XD.
As a native Arabic speaker the way they are writing Arabic is sad cuz its wrong and making it harder 🙂😂💔
Yes definitely need to change the keyboard language, I think the problem might be is that Arabic language is written from right to left and the letters are combined unlike other languages the opposite way and each letter is written separately which made it very difficult to read.
I don’t speak Arabic, but I know that it’s written from right to left, just like Urdu
Ik I was like wtf
Jake Bailey it’s really annoying ik
probably their editing software dose not support Arabic. but still it triggered me sooo bad. i'm mad
This is a field day for an anthropologist who specialized in languages who went to culinary school
You mean a linguist?
Nope they have fields in anthropology that are dedicated to just understanding the language's and its form regardless if they can speak it or not or if they wish to speak it
@@therealduelist8397 Linguist has two meanings - one is a person who can speak/is good at learning languages, one is a person who studies language (the field of linguistics). Sounds like you might have done some form of linguistics (anthropology and social linguistics are overlapping fields)
@@ruth649 personally i didnt do Any anthropology but my friend did she studied the part about amcient civilizations put for semester i remember she took some sort class that involved languages and how they were made and languages they came from i never heard the name from her so i think it probably is linguistics
Of course they emphazise Hindi and Arabic but not Italian or Austrian. Gotta be PC. Fuck off fbe.
I'm Tunisian, i can speaker both Arabic and French as native language but you guys messed up the Arabic script lol, letters should be attached to each other!I feel jasser had troubles dealing with it 😂😂 Arabic on the video: ا ب ح ر م Real Arabic: مرحبا

I feel this video was made for me, my mother tongue is Tamil, I'm from India so obviously, I know Hindi and also speak french.
Pondicherry?
Heyy if by any chance u become a member or get noticed by them pls tell them to react to indian culture and festivals and songs!!:)
I speak Hindi and little French too 😊
Just learn arabic quickly and you're good to go :p
I feel like Google Translate's translation for Tamil was very incorrect though, :/
So much stuff I never knew until now Jasser speaks Arabic Kennedy speaks French Labib speaks Hindi. Why is the Arabic translation not written properly tho?
One of the previous react episodes on Bilingual people had Jasser. Its my fav, actually, here: kzhead.info/sun/nbKbo7RsZ2OBip8/bejne.html
But Labib doesn't speak Hindi. He speaks Urdu, he's from Pakistan. I'm sure they aren't exactly reading what we're seeing on the screen. The script Labib's reading should be in Nastaliq style of Arabic script.
@@AshrafAnam thanks man. I thought I was the only one who saw something off.
Labib originates from Pakistan, so he would have been more comfortable with Urdu rather than Hindi.
That's what Google Translate did. You know the translations are often wrong and too literal
I love how basically the first thing Kennedy says is already "This does not make sense" haha.
The Hindi translation was messed up, the grammar was so painful, the words were so painful, the sentence structure was so painful, the meaning was so painful😣😣😣
the arabic was written backwards.......
welcome to Google Translate
@@AnymMusic 😂😂😂
so truee yaar
@@AnymMusic Worst thing
Google did the Arabic translation dirty 🤦🏻♀️. I grew up speaking and writing Arabic and.... nope lol.
Yeah they written it from left to right
Google translate is one of the worst ways to translate stuff
It's backwards
I think that make it hard to jasser
i'm the real peppa pig that’s very cool though. My family is Lebanese, Egyptian and Moroccan (also a bit Turkish) so the Arabic language is pretty prevalent in my family lol.
I love the videos when reactors use somehow their first language or other than English, I just love the diversity!
I love seeing recipes in different languages, and seeing people trying to translate them. I love hearing people speaking different languages, and learning about different cultures.
Alright mate, settle down.
India is your place then
An aspiring linguist, then?
Multilingual people are amazing, especially when the your secondary language isn't even using the alphabet.
Sooo happy to have a French speaking girl 🙌🏻 finally . Shout out to all the French people watching this video 🇨🇵❤️

I have never thought Kennedy that speaks French. Not one thought

@@niro-nova yeah the tamil script seems really off
Finally some Tamil representation! This video comes full circle 😭 as I come from a Tamil fam, lived in Kuwait 🇰🇼 where they speak Arabic and studied in an Indian school that taught hindi and learnt French as a third language in high school 🤩
Wow semma ponga
i am pretty surprised that labib can read Hindi. Urdu would have been my first guess as his mother tongue.
Tamil is written so beautifully, holy crap
The Tamil script is so underappreciated in those Caligraphy trend vids. Everyone knows the Devanagari, Arabic and Kanji scripts as beautiful Eastern scripts. But there is so much more.
What other languages do you speak? Let us know and we'll try to incorporate it into our next Bilingual People episode!

The French translation was so off 😂 but I didn't knew that Kennedy spoke French!! As a French person it makes me so happy
Thought Kennedy was just a strictly English speaker lol, but they all speak basically perfect English.
Bah la grammaire était pas incroyable, mais en vrai c'est pas si horrible! (The grammar wasn't incredible, but it's actually not that bad!)
Je retrouve encore des baguettes comme moi et ça fait plaisir mdr also I completely agree I would’ve understood but still the grammar was horrible 😭
@@lycarelepleutre_7799 as an italian i actually could understand it. The real messed up one is the arabic translation 😂😂 i didnt understand anything
2:31 should be in Arabic but it's ok Labib translated it to us 😂💙
I feel bad for Jasser because he need to read backwards and arabic letters should be attached not separated. Example : ✖ ءاع و ر ب ك أ ي ف ✔ في أكبر وعاء
...Why?
Google translate messed jasser up with arabic
He probably didn't read it backwards, this backwards translation is most likely a fault from the video editor rather than Google itself.
@Peter Andrei Resurrected 'Cause the script is cursive
Well, i was able to read it backwards easily, the problem was that the translation was absolutely inaccurate Cookies=ملفات تعريف الارتباط This got me laughing so badly 🤣
As I know Arabic and Hindi I was just laughing seeing Jasser and labib struggle but feeling very sad for them but gosh 😂😂 that Arabic and Hindi was really difficult to understand and I have a Tamil friend who studies French and she has told me that how hard the pure Tamil is.........
Rachael is a whole mood 😂
Y'all google translate literally butchered Tamil...I'm a tamilian and i can't even understand the translated version...
sherine joy saaame
Same
Try reading the arabic it's backwards and separated This vids arabic *ا ب ح ر م* Real arabic *مرحبا*
Poor Jasser. He really tried.
The hindi instructions were kinda weird but if u know the language well enough you could figure out all of the instructions. oh and let’s not het started on the font used on Hindi, Tamil, and Arabic it’s all messed up lol separated and stuff
There's a problem with the editing. Arabic is supposed to be from right to left and the letters are connected with eachother. This edit is showing the Arabic language from left to right with separate letters, I think this is why Jasser was confused
I’m so disappointed of how the Arabic writing is messed up .. like i know you don’t have an Arabic keyboard but it’s just sad how it’s so wrong !!!
same with tamil, i could barely make out the letters with the weird placement
They don't need an Arabic keyboard, Google translate does write the letters properly attached and in the correct direction.
ankhi3 I know that I’m only trying to find any reason that makes sense for this mistake
I don't think they're exactly reading what we're seeing on the screen
Ashraf Anam i guess so , but still they should’ve at least tried harder 🤷🏻♀️
The Arabic is written left to right, Arabic is right to left and the letters r all separates 😂
When Rachel said “8 minutes and 10 seconds” I felt my heart break a little bit 😂 Ilove to bake and I can understand what the instruction was even w/o the English translation or understanding the dialects being translated.
"Real cooks don't measure"...real bakers always measure, and usually by weight and not volume.
😀😀😀
I never measure when i bake, usually, because i`m quite good at guessing the amount, lol.
that’s the thing - cooks, not bakers
cmon lance get your shit together
The french one was actually quite decently comprehensible. I guess that might be due to the fact that I am learning it and still heavily suck at it so anything that makes sense at least remotely will work well for me :-D
Hey, french is my first language and I tought the same thing! It was quite decently comprehensible!
I think French is the strongest language on Google Translate also so it is the language it gets correct the most when translating from English.
@@WrightJustice1991 I think the strongest would be actually Spanish (I might be wrong though). But yes, French is working well too... I would not survive past three years if it was not for google translate and it´s ability to translate from French :-D
English and French are quite similar in terms of syntax (for two languages that aren't closely related) and that helps Google Translate immensely, so she definitely had it easier than the others
I speak french and same
When you thought Kennedy couldn't be more perfect she starts speaking French awww lawd 😍😍
This is hilarious, I love these bilingual video. “It tells you too put it far away” 😂

Rachel: this feels like soup. Jasser: oh yeah? Get a load of this!!
Never expected you guys to have a reactor who could read tamil, I feel sad for Rachel as the translations and the script of the language was not proper with google translation.
TAMIL IS HERE?! YESSSSSSSS. Finally, my mother tongue is getting representation!

I was so happy too dude, but also did anyone else feel like the writing of the tamil was so different from what is taught in general? I have studied tamil for my whole childhood and this looks very different from that. Do you also think the same?
Prathiksha Selvaraj yeah! I gave up reading after a point. That font was ugly and the formatting of letters were off
@@PrathikshaSelvaraj Well the thing is Google translate messed up the arrangement and the letters in the first place . You have to guess in the first place , so don't worry😂😅
I’m also Tamil
Rachel definitely reminds me of the times I tried to reason with my teacher to get that 1/2 mark on a test.😂
Would've been easier if the letters in the arabic translation were together

Kennedy speaks French? Labib speaks Hindi?
urdu and hindi are almost very similar
urdu and hindi are essentially the same language ...same grammar, same words, but with few added different words...urdu has added persian words and hindi has added sanskrit words but they are very similar and only thing that differs is the scripts...urdu is written in persian script and hindi in devnagri script...
kennedy speaks french since she was a kid. I think she said that.
Still he should have been given Urdu instead of Hindi
@@KBTECHWAQAAS We are just gonna have to assume that he was given Urdu and not Hindi since, Pakistani people can not read or write Hindi even tho they are almost the same when you speak them but very different when you read or write them
