  • Thank you WTA for these longer highlights. They really did a great job of telling the (extremely compelling story) of Vickery seeming absolutely hopeless and then just all of a sudden finding herself. Felt like I was watching the full match - I was actually moved to tears by the end! Also, I'm very proud of Sachia for what she was able to do. I caught one of her matches last year against Vikhlyantseva, and it was maybe the worst-played WTA match I've ever seen (actual quote from a frustrated Sachia Vickery during the match: "I'm playing so bad!"). She's come extremely far in just a few short months, and I can't wait to see what else she has in store.

  • Wow one set down, games 0-3, 0-40 but never gave up. What a comeback Vickery. I love the Wakanda salute at the end. Inspiring performance. May you continue to rise to the occasion. All the best Vickery.

  • This Vickery chick!! Wow haven't seen a game as refreshing as hers since Williams Sisters! She has a solid game that doesn't break down and even a more solid mental game! Top 20 watch out!

    • Then you have yet to see Naomi Osaka! She is Nr 1 Material! Gabine however, was the girl to bet on, but she plays so inconsistent.

  • How do we jump from Vickery being down 0-3 and then up 5-4 in second set with noooo highlights from that. Seems like we cut out a lot of good tennis from Vickery even in this 9min overview. Weird edit bias WTA.

    @johnlyndsay@johnlyndsay Жыл бұрын
  • If Venus had played like Sachia played she would have lost, Sachia hit a lot of ball straight back to Muguruza, entertainment at it's best. New faces to beat up on, but I like it, kicking ass is so good, and get paid also.

    • she didn't lose control, she has ONE STRATEGY, hit the ball as hard as possible on both wings and overpower the opponent. Vickery noticed this and took advantage of her poor movement and hit more angles, lobs, slices etc. More variety will always work against a ball basher

  • Never knew tennis could bring out so much venom from some tennis fans, remember people it's only a tennis match and you are not commenting on a beauty contest. People this is" Tennis" please let us enjoy the game, comment on the style of play and other techniques off the game, bashing players looks, physical features and any other negative attributes that you all throw at players is absolute unnecessary. I've been watching tennis for eons and never once have I ever commented on a player's looks, that's how much I love tennis........player's ability is all I look for, anything else will be for show not tennis. Love This Game!

  • I noticed that for players like Muguruza, probably most wta players, that there aren’t too many players that when things don’t go their way, and the opponent is higher level, there is almost no plan b or attempt to bring opponents level down, no sabotage. Either they try to raise level to match which is hard to do consistently or just hope level drops.

  • Im a fan of Garbi and Im in pain. 3 days ago I watched her interview about going to the Oscars and thought that she has a great personality and she looked very strong and confident. I was right about everything, she started playing good against a very inspired rival, the score was 6-2, 3-0 :everything was in her control. After that everything changed, her demons came and she couldn't play more, Vickery played amazing and destroyed her mind. In the third Garbiñe gave up, she choose to stop fighting and take the loss prematurely like in the match vs Kasatkina in Dubai. I really wonder what on earth is going on in Garbi's head, why is so different for her to close matches, why she stops fighting in the third set. I just hope she finds light at some point.

  • the WTA should make mugaruza, sharapova, halep etc where a gimp mask with that red ball thing in their mouth to shut them up, it's time for the WTA to do something about it, it's just an ugly sounding shameless tactic to put off their opponent which of course works, we've all seen these players play quietly & then bung it on when they're losing, it's always the screamers that try to cheat their way to a win with medical time outs when their opponent is out playing them & any other tactic that they can think of, it's time to remove cheating from women's tennis & let the wins come from talent & nothing else
