In addition , it had an army of a million trained according to NATO standards for 8 years with which they could do anything that they can not do with their own armies. Yet, it failed to even elevate the status of SMO to war in Russia. Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe. And its getting systematically destroyed with a future where it will have no army at all. All along, life in Russia is completely unaffected, few discuss the war. Contrast that to failed disasters in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan where USA just packed the bags after decades of failures.
@@steveb890yes and no, Russia is fighting the entire collective west via Kiev as a proxy, it is doing so without committing the bulk of its forces, certainly in the first half of the SMO the forces committed were limited. The Russians have also been relatively sparingly with the Ukrainian infrastructure, especially west of the Dnieper. NATO would have destroyed the civilian infrastructure as one of their primary targets, transport, power, communication, water etc. With that in mind, Russia facing an opponent that has been building up its military since 2014, trained and armed by NATO, is not doing so bad. Especially since NATO can hide in the open beyond the border of the conflict. Dirty war, but NATO has nothing to brag about here.
It just occurred to me how effective Russian logistics must be. They're getting supplies to soldiers as well as fuel and ammo to artillery and armoured systems in a daily progressing but broad contact-line. You hardly hear of NATO-guided strikes affecting their work. Truly exceptional of them, and worthy of praise.
Cause nato is not involved directly in the war, so therefore you here about Ukraine striking the logistics of Russia. Not very hard to think for more then 2 seconds

I always find reports that Ukraine shot down 50/50 drones and 10/10 missiles yet there are always reports of damage due to drone and missile strikes. Maybe the Ukrainians are shooting something else like a lot of coke

You make a non sensical statement. Russia enjoys support from Iran, N Koreea, and, arguably, China. All have a high degree of military might. Nato countries have not signed any mobilization, and, officially, at least, no Nato personnel is engaged in military operations. Also, it is Russia who is trying to take down Ukraine, nobody is trying to take down Russia. The Russian leadership has declared it is carrying a military operation against Ukraine. No Nato country, and also not Ukraine ever declared their intention to take down Russia.

Russians are really smart. There 3 main parameters of a fighting vehicle. 1 Armor , 2 speed/ maneuverability, 3 firepower. Balancing those 3 aspects is the goal for any military in the world. And we've literally saw 2 maxed out designed in a span of 2 days. The so called turtle tank ( maximum armor) and now motor brigades ( max speed)... And it works to a great success.

Motorcycle troops are not new. The Germans used them in WWII, along with bicycles. They're very similar to cavalry, men on horses, in terms of speed and mobility, but most importantly in terms of protection; only their body armor. Horse cavalry war defeated by machineguns.
The most successful use of bicycles in military action was by the Japanese in taking over the Malay Peninsula at the start of WWII. Huge numbers of infantry covered tens of kilometres in a single day.

The military aid package can give Ukraine everything except replacement soldiers. At this point, without replacement soldiers I'm not sure all the other stuff is going to be enough. Maybe if all the bits and pieces of aid over the last couple years had been frontloaded some time near the beginning of the fight, things would look quite different right now. But at this point, all those masses of Ukrainian soldiers have already died. And I'm sure they're scrambling like crazy to recruit whatever warm bodies they can get their hands on, but we're getting to that "throwing old people in without training" and "stripping out the people keeping the country sort of going", not to mention the "everyone hiding and running", stage. I think recruitment efforts will be insufficient, and have bad side effects.

I was wondering why motorcycle troops were not used yet. The Nazi's in WWII had quite a few and used them as scouts/ initial infantry support with light machine guns till the masses could arrive. The bill will pass. But the bill money basically only goes to the military contractors in the USA. They claim its for ukrain but thats all talk. Ukrain will get some retired rubbish, and the military contractors will replenish those numbers with new assets, with this money from the bill. All the time claiming that the money went to ukrain !!!!

Given the comments about the 'motor marines', I think they should bring back the cavalry and use fast horses. Imagine a drone trying to track a fast moving horse which is dodging around as it moves!

I wonder what the impact of this US aid package will have for the outcome of the war. Anyone dare making a reasoned prediction?
Possibly delay the inevitable by a few weeks. Though the last two days where three AFU brigades refused orders to fight, signal that the end might come before much of this aid package arrives Also, speculation is that part of the weapons package has already been delivered quietly to Kiev in the past few months. In which case some of these billions will be used to pay off old bills.
My guess is that they'll step up terrorists attacks inside Russia. Its def going to get weird.
Think they will get all the new weapons and ammo at such a slow pace it wont really effect much.

Damn so many advances that it’s hard to tell how important they were to take and how fortified they are/were 😢
Using a large grouping of motorbikes and ATV's that each are only manned by one or two soldiers is smarter than using a golf cart sized quad for sure due to how fast, small and mobile they are (pretty much invulnerable to FPV drones unless the operator is very skilled/gets lucky and would be a big waste of regular artillery shell's I assume given the constraints they have with their stocks currently). You could send a whole swarm of them at once and dealing with the issue would be rather difficult with the exception of using cluster munitions i suppose, but if this becomes a common tactic all across the front in the near future I don't think they'll really have enough of em probably. The main purpose of these things I assume is to deploy an initial light assault force quickly to go clear out trenches and fortified Ukrainian positions post shelling/bombing, and then holding before reinforcements arrive via armoured personal carriers and other such IFV's perhaps even the golf carts which all would arrive at the position to evacuate any wounded soldiers from the initial swarming assault and increase the amount of manpower to hold the new position against any Ukrainian counterattacks.
