The Chinese S-Class that looks like a Rolls-Royce and Drives like a…
Since it debuted late last year, the H9 has been the topic of fervent internet debate. Some thought it was a blatant copy of a Rolls-Royce, others thought it was blatant copy of BMW 7-Series, and still others just thought it was a good-looking sedan. Everybody has an opinion, but today we’re going to try and look past that debate and answer a more basic question, is it a good car?

There’s tons of Chinese vehicles on Paraguayan roads (where I live) and the biggest issue, by a country mile, is the lack of parts when something breaks. Even a minor thing like a bushing can be impossible to get, let alone transmission or suspension components (known to break in potholed roads here in Paraguay) and so on. The cars are not bad. But there’s near-zero aftersale support.
Do the Chinese have dealerships or are the cars all imported? I remember seeing a car parts shop for Chinese cars in Iraq. So I guess the after sales service for Chinese cars in the third world is improving and will reach your country too one day.
I am in amman jordan. We have german VW and Chinese built VW which are much cheaper and seem to break more. Parts is an issue. And angry chinese built owners have gone to the German Embassy to complain, which gets them nowhere of course.

A true eye-catcher design. Excellent.

I like the front end more than the Rolls Royce. The wider grille fills in the space better, and the body panel flowing over the top of the grille looks sleeker and more aerodynamic, visually lowers the grille. The rear does not come off quite as well, but it is not offensive. I wonder if the interior plastic film is factory applied and just not taken off. I'll admit that once I did not realize it was there, it was well done and not obvious.
Quite a cool design. It takes inspiration but think it looks fairly unique on its own. Not a fan of the two-tone, but cool to see something more experimental 😀
The two tone is what makes it look like a Rolls
@@markntexas8265 Rolls Royce does two-tone so much better though. It compliments the body work design. It flows from the grille, over the bonnet, over the roof, and flows off the back. This tries to, but the slip under the windows, due to the grille flaring across the headlights looks awkward. There's too much of it so looks more garish to me - I think a more subtle two-tone like two shades of purple, would work better in this sense.

I'd say the lag between pushing the gas and actual moving is probably a computer issue/programming. I've driven cars where you can press the pedal all the way down and the engine doesn't even attempt to rev and slowly goes up in rpm and speed, bot the transmission.
Whether you like it or not - cars like the Brilliance BS6 and the Shuanghuan Sceo aren't too long ago. For a country that wasn't a global player on the car market at all - they've made an astonishing amount of progress. I think it's a pretty good looking sedan.

When anything's made in China, it's bound to get unfair critism for being a knockoff or slow. But, in reality if this car were to hit the states for $45k, everybody and their mama would be trading in their crossover to get their hands on this no questions asked.
Very true. In fact it might actually sell BETTER than what it's allegedly copying. I remember several people I knew wanting to get the last generation of Ford Fusion because the front looked like that of an Aston Martin but at a fraction of the cost.
