From San Francisco to a chateau in a rural town in Brittany France. Why on Earth did we move and what is life like in the countryside? Lincoln continues more renovation work on the bathroom and we took the drone out to capture some stunning images.

Love your vlogs. Moved from southern California to Tennesse nearly 30 years ago. From noise and congestion to 9 acres of quiet. Watching g foxes,deer, bob cats, turkeys and my cats and dogs is lovely. Fully understand your love of peace!! Hunters don't bother me...sometimes I get extra meat. Not bad.
What a beautiful area! Love your tree lined driveway. I'm always so intrigued by the quietness of little French towns. It's a treat to walk on the road without fear of getting run over lol.

Not sure you’ll EVER see this because I can’t seem to do your videos in any kind of order. Have been binge watching ever since I found you. I live in Springfield, MO, was widowed in my 50’s, love yard work(gardening sounds too fancy), and love creating lovely (well, to me), vignettes around my home. It’s quite challenging because it’s just me and I have lost core strength as time passes. Always know you are blessed to have an extremely resourceful and intelligent and seemingly kind and loving spouse to share this adventure with. By the way..LOVE his work britches! I am most at home in yard clothes, usually black, but his britches have a snazzy look. Are they something French you purchase over there or can us regular folk have access to them?! You have chosen something beautiful in life to experience, one day at a time. I hope you never tire of sharing the beauty and blessings (and hard core work!), you are experiencing!!
Hello everyone. Glad to see and heard strangers like my country enough to quit their own country to live in mine. And specially in countrysides. When French big town are about to look the same, we have way much places presenting their own identities. In France we called it " Les terroirs", and it has a historical link with gastrononomy , languages , or architecture. Congratulations with this hardwork

Definitely looked like the perfect tourism video. The cats were hilarious, as well as “Guava” digging and holding her ground for an hour. My chihuahua has done that and captured a gopher for her hard work. Lovely way to spend a few moments here in ugly west Texas.
I'm a Canadian and l would move to France but not to buy a Chateau lol but your place looks like heaven. French people seem to enjoy life .

After living my entire life in Manhattan (the last ten right next to the Holland Tunnel) I completely understand why you would want to move to the country side in France. Your treelike driveway is my dream.

@Natalie Rivera I used to live on Broome Street and so get what you are saying! I used to pretend the traffic was the Pacific Ocean. (I too am from Dan Francisco) It worked! But now I am in France and going to look at Brittany as a place to live thanks to this beautiful vlog!

We drove about 4,500km from Vienna in Austria to all over in France and stayed 10 days in Brittany near Lamballe next so the sea. We absolutely loved it. The people, the food, the countryside, the sea... it was great. Thank you for charing your journey.

I’m so happy I discovered your channel. We are from NY in our 60’s and dream of doing what you and Lincoln have done donkeys included. I love your gardens and your pets. We have been renovating our beach cottage together ( for years)currently the kitchen so I appreciate Lincoln’s patience . I wouldn’t like the gun shots either. But everything else is so peaceful. It is like TX in that wild pigs are becoming a nuisance and tearing up property. It would be come a relief soon enough if they were destroying your land. At least there they tend to eat them but the ones in TX are just too gamey from what I hear. I have done the city girl who didn't like guns to a country girl with respect and appreciation for them. Took a bit though.
The animals get me all the time. Lincoln, I felt back watching you carry that toilet down those stairs. WHEW!

Great video and travelogue! I laughed to see all three cats pounce on the bird at the same time. We've had cats that do that - so funny. I completely understand the wish for quiet. After living in a GI Bill neighborhood, where we could hear the neighbor's telephone and arguments, we moved to just under an acre, with much more privacy. (And we sowed some of the lawn in wildflowers to cut down on the mowing!)

Thank you for another great video! I always look forward to the next one. This one tempted me to sell & move to France & I'm happy here in the suburbs between SF & San Jose, California. My job is 20 mins away walking or a few mins by car or bicycle. At certain times of the day though I risk getting run over by parents trying to get their kids to school on time. Other than that, I usually don't have to worry about traffic. I also get to grow fruit & vegs in my suburban sized yard. It's definitely not a chateau though!
Yes, the parents doing school pick up can get crazy!
For sure it is a win, win for all of you plus the animals.....no comparison to living in a bustling city! So beautiful and tranquil. Thank you for the beautiful video......love the cats...my favourite part....LOL!!

Amanda Brittany is just lovely: OMG the cats were hysterical, I have two and it's a constant comedy act they are odd creatures to say the least and I say that with love. I also live in the states and have been looking into making the move to Europe as well, France and Italy have been my two choices, Love from N.Y.

I lived on the peninsula for ten years. Left in 2006. It was changing even then.
Am in the tri valley area, we drove thru the city last year on our way from the forest, it breaks my heart to see San Francisco be unrecognizable and filthy…..
