A kitty photobomb in every room gotta love that! Can't spell Chateau without Chat! And, "It's a bit dusty in here." Without missing a beat. Such a great video as always. Thank you for the time and effort posting this. It is a lot of work ... much appreciated.
Haha! Thank you, glad you enjoyed it...
Beautiful first floor especially the center entryway. Love your sense of humor. It’s nice the cats let you film 🎥 without protesting 🤣🤣🤣
The hallway is a gem. So elegant
Love that kitty is leading the tour!
I think Waffle was in almost every shot!
When you decide to renovate the kitchen you should try and donate the cabinets, they look like real wood and somebody else could use them.
Or use them in a workshop or outbuilding
The doors might be wood but it looks like an 80’s/90’s kitchen with plywood covered with plastic veneer making up the cabinets. However, someone may be grateful for them.
That has to be a perfectly proportioned chateau. And yes the wood panelling would seal the deal for me too. I love the kitty positioning - a diva and quite comfortable in the best places and in front of the camera. I love your style of mixing the modern with the traditional.
I had no idea the cat was in most of the video!
Stunning! I love how you’ve sprinkled in a little modern furniture. Ps. I think that version of the Mona Lisa is true work of art!
Thank you Lori! Yes, that Mona Lisa is my favorite :)
@@OurFrenchChateau And mine also Amanda. Greetings to you and Linkoln, Mica 🙂🐕🐾🌻
I always look forward to your weekly vlog! Your chateau is beautiful, with all the additional work you're doing will make it fantastic! So many projects but you both seem to be coping with the tasks well. Love cats being in the videos!
The cats are superstars!
Love the harlequin floors, see so many removing them from their chateaus love that you are keeping ❤ them..
The kitchen has a breathtaking view and good space, it will be beautiful when you finish. But thank God it is at least useable. Lord knows I’ve seen worse. It’s such a stunning chateau. I think you have lucked out on a real beauty, with land, and the walled garden! ❤️
Thanks Susan - the kitchen is falling apart, but yes, useable for now!
That was really interesting. It is a beautiful chateau, is wonderful to see the progress. You are both doing a great job to bring life back to this building.
Have you SEEN the kitchens in other chateaus ? You have the Taj Mahal!
haha - really!?
The white cabnet is beautiful the drawers cracked me up. Enjoyed the tour and the room with the panels. In my next life I am coming back as a cat and moving to France.
Thanks Miriam! 🐈⬛
It's nice to get a feel for the whole main floor space. The château has some elegant architectural features, yet on a very human scale - cozier to live in. It was probably used for hunting and only during certain seasons, hence not a lot of heating. Just my guess. It'll be a beautiful home!
Thanks :) Yes, it was just a summer home...
The many sets of doors on this floor serves a series of rooms formally aligned with each other is actually an interesting and common architectural feature in grand European palaces since the baroque period (17th century) called enfilade (I think it’s a french word!)
2/3 of english words are originated normand/french words - even more in your phrase.
Loved this vlog. Such a beautiful home you’ve made already. Well done. 👍❤️🥂
Thanks so much Jimmy! 😊
This chateau is a good size. Its symmetry is pleasing. And it is in remarkably good shape.
Hi guys you need to find a antique candle snuffer!!!
Yes! I forgot these existed. Must find one...
1850? My gosh, I am here thinking it was so much older as my own, Greek Revival farmhouse, was built in 1868. The main house at least. It has four 12X12 beans holding the walls in the living room/nook library on each corner. Our kitchen fireplace needed so much work we had to place an insert inside of it. It is by no means 4200 sq ft though or has gargoyle detailed drawers. And the small upstairs has low ceilings. Looking forward to see the progress! I picture yours a home in a period movie. The brocade curtains, all details are lovely! I imagine the only heat source was all those marble fireplaces and the "help" lived in the cottages. That piano has all the ivory too. Ours came with an antique tiger wood upright. Somehow, as I get a taste of you and Lincoln, that is something that brings a lil' pain, knowing the source of those keys. We are trying to find anyone that will take ours out as the repair would be too much.
You have very good taste in decorating! You are fortunate that your husband is meticulous and handy. Enjoyed your home tour🍷
Thanks so much! 😊
Absolutely beautiful. You are amazing people to bring her back to life. Hugs!
This was wonderful. Really appreciate the close ups of detail like the china cabinet, stair railing and general tour. The black and white fur babe on the black and white entry tile!!
Lovely home will be totally stunning when it’s done and love how every room had a kitty 🐈⬛ just like my house
The dining room is beautiful. Love the lit candelabra and roaring fire. So inviting.
The ceilings are very beautiful and the room with the built in china cabinet is especially beautiful.
This is a beautiful show! The chateau is wonderful, but the trees are really special. Love your laid back commentary! Not your typical Americans abroad!
Thanks Richard :)
Thank you for sharing your home. The china cabinet is stunning. ❤
Have you checked the grand salon woodwork for woodworms? If not, check and treat before you do anything else. That wood is lovely, even un-oiled. Would love to hear the piano, once it's tuned. You'll have a treasure there.
It's an amazing chateau and you are making it a lovely home.
That is a beautiful not-too-huge chateau ! I am quite jealous The grounds are lovely too. you have a lot of work, but all so worth the while ! Enjoy !
😍Your chateau is just stunning!! I love all the renovation you’ve done so far!💖💖
Thank you Maria!
I love the scale of the rooms and simmetry of the chateau! Beautiful moldings and details ! Congrats and thanks for letting us in!
Thanks for watching :)
I like your sense of humor. You make laugh every time. Can wait to see all the changes at the Château.
Looking at that kitchen compared to the one. By brother and sister in law lived with for eight yrs. They would have killed for the yours😅😅😅 they had a dump in at that time 1890’s house. They did the lower level (basement). First, two very energetic girls to have a play space,TV room! Next was the kitchen and you should see it now! As it is now finished! As with old homes, unpleasant surprises awaited them in the walls and ceilings for a 50% overage in budget. But wow, wow, wow, it fits perfectly in an 1890’s house. The cupboards, countertops hardware are all period. You are going to have a job ahead of you, but the rewards will be great. Just budget for overages and don’t panic. Theirs took eight months to accomplish with a crew. But, when you see it you realize what an amazing designer they stumbled upon. It has been in a local magazine. Pain has its rewards ❤❤❤❤❤and pain it was.
I’m just trying to keep my place “Looking Neat” before I’m dead too.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Same 😅
@@vintagemoss9578 I kinda mean it. Lol
@Ann Lyon 🤣
I just love your videos! You both are very talented especially Lincoln. But. . . . Your love of the color Black amazes me. Alas, you make it work but your house would be treacherous at night. I would run into a wall and fall down a massive flight of stairs. . .OY VEY! Hehe!
Great! I can’t wait! Loving seeing more of your place 💕🤗💕
Thanks Jenny!
The Allee looks absolutely lovely with the falling leaves -I know that this will mostly mean more work for you and L but.... The limestone tile is beautiful....The ceilings are indeed amazing and what is a day in a life without putting your finger into a Gargoyle's mouth to open a drawer? Lincol and Amanda great tour as always. A bientot!
Thank you Ella :) The leaves actually just blow away!
New sub here, simply wonderful watching these! How fun! I refurbished a forest ranger cabin, quite the contrary, but dreams do come true! Thanks for sharing yours! It’s lovely! 💜🦋💜
Thanks and welcome
I love the white dining room and that lovely white cabinet so beautiful. Kathy 🇺🇸
I like your Vans ❤
😁
Your chateau is just beautiful with some very unique touches. Perfect size too.
Love The beautiful Mona Lisa! Love your home.
I love the cat decor and your wonderful sardonic humor.
Use the Martha Stewart secret to blowing out candles. Put your index finger in front of the candles. The air goes around it and avoids blowing wax off the backside of the candle.
Loved this Q and A!!! Great to hear about your backgrounds and thoughts!!!
You are my new fave KZhead channel Just thinking, watching Lincoln blow out those candles... My grandfather used to have what he called his snuffer. It was used with 'great ceremony' to snuff out the flames when it was time to turn in. It was of black metal, the thin handle maybe a foot and an half long, with a cone shaped attachment at its end. Not only safer (no hot wax drops blown onto hand and walls) and easier, but also cuts down on the wafting black smoke, which will mark your walls over time, for sure. Loving watching all the past videos, and look ahead for more Thank you for sharing this experience Be safe out there
😀
So funny snd realistic”a project we are hoping to get to before we are dead” I feel you. I’ve renovated… well worth it but takes lots of time. Best regards! Gorgeous
Love your chateau! Thank you for the tour.
My husband and I bought an old home in the states, 1905, and after ten years living in it, we were able to remodel the 1970s kitchen. It was worth the wait. It seems as though you both are enjoying the remodeling-the key to keeping your sanity while living in a construction zone 24/7! Thank you for sharing your journey. Well wishes from eastern Oregon!
Thanks Kathryn :) So you feel our pain 🤣
Can’t wait for part 2. Really like you guys! Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful chateau! 😍
Your château property is amazing!
You and your husband seem to be able to work together well without killing each other. A necessity with all the work you have ahead. Not every couple could do that.
There's still enough time for a murder to occur 😂
I absolutely love your petite chateau. The rooms are in good shape and so charming. Love your plans for all the renos!
The perfect size Chateau with perfect out buildings and land, my favourite. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with the family room.
Thanks! It should be fun :)
Great content! I love it!
Beautiful Chateau!
Thx for the tour. Best of luck with upcoming works. I love the white cabinet too! How fabulous a condition it’s in.
I like your sense of humor. "The projects that we hope to get to before you're dead." At the rate that you are going, I don't think that will not be a problem. Cheers!
🤪
I love your château. The rooms are so beautiful and the china cabinet is amazing
So beautiful !
Oh my! Stunning rooms and Lincoln will work his magic and bring it back to life, with you eye for colour and detail it will become beautiful again. Cannot wait ❤
Thanks!!
The entrance hall is magnificent!
You are doing a great job!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You both are so courageous!! To take down a ceiling and all.the major renovations...wow!!
I love the Mona Lisa. I myself am lucky to have one of Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers'
You are most lucky!!
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home.
I'd love to see a chandelier hunting video! Love your Chateau. You have amazing vision and taste!
Thank you Marlene :)
Particularly like the dining room crockery cupboard. Beautiful work. Oh, and the ceilings. You certainly have your work cut out for you. Thank you for showing us. A lovely home that will get lovlier. Best wishes from Australia.
😁
Love those railings!
Absolutely beautiful! Especially those detailed ceilings. Love the kitties too all lounging around and totally owning the space!
Didn’t allot of these families only use the chateaus in the Summer. It gets quite chilly in Brittany even in June. The woodworking, ceilings, and inside shutters, the foyer and stairs, oh wow! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful and charming ❤️
Hi guys! Thanks : ) Not as big as your place 😂
@@OurFrenchChateau you have a lot of period charms beautiful we are watching you guys every episodes.
@@licjo Thanks We enjoy your vlogs!
Love your front door, it looks stunning. Good luck with the rest of your renovations, your doing a great Job.
love it just gorgeous
Such beautiful rooms.
I love seeing all the areas! Excited to see what all you do.
Hello how are you doing?
Thanks for the tour, it's beautiful. My favorite part of a chateau are the staircases .. Your's are beautiful!!!!
That's also what sold us!
Where do you find your music? The early episodes were phenomenal. Thanks for the escape from my world
Beautiful rooms! I can see why you bought the place. Love your humor. You need that when you are renovating a place of that size and history.
I enjoyed the tour! Beautiful rooms and ceilings! Love the hidden sorta priest hole in the lovely paneled room. The stairwell and the entry hall are fantastic! A wow entry! It really is a wonderful place to call home. So nice of the Cats to let you live there with them!!! Thanks!!
Thank you
This was a great tour.
Thank you!
Enjoyed this and looking forward to seeing more. The chateau seems a very livable size with so much original detail. Kind of nice that the kitchen end has lost its detail so you can feel free to make it a chef-worthy kitchen without worrying about destroying any original features - maybe even reclaim some if that wall hides a fireplace. Love how you have drape-o-cats on every surface!
Congratulations - it's a beautiful place, and will I'm certain, become even more beautiful.
The cabinet that's in the dining room I bet at one time it was not painted and I bet at one time when the chateau was first new all the paneling was like that one salon wasn't painted I hope we get to see the basement and on the rest of it you have a beautiful home and lots of hard work had thank you so much for the tour p
Big undertaking for you and Lincoln. Your entry hall is one of the prettiest, full of light. And the curve of the staircase is sexy & gorgeous. A bit of a surprise to see your wishbone chairs in the dining room! Which begs the question: do you decorate this in period pieces or go modern and have that magnificent juxtaposition of old bones, modern style?
We like a mix of antiques and contemporary...
Beautiful chateau and land. Lots to do and great plans. I would love a kitchen with an old fireplace too. The cats are very content there too.
Love your mini chateau, just the right size, not so huge. Can't wait to see that fireplace in the kitchen
The Chateau is lovely and the piano..... thank you.
Thanks Trudi :)
Great sense of humour ❤ Gorgeous chateau with so many possibilities. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Thanks Cathy
I've watched it twice. I'm going to enjoy what comes next.
😀
Amanda and Lincoln, the center hallway is beautiful once you put the extra touches you want to complete it, it will be even better. the staircase is also a stunner, I love the dining room, the cabinet is gorgeous, amazing detail. once the flow through, between the salon's is finished your chateau's will start to come together. This is going to exciting to watch the progress, I can't wait for the kitchen renovation. Thanks for the sneak peek into future projects. Love from N.Y.
Thank you Joni - I can't wait for the kitchen reno either!
Your chateau has many beautiful features. Love the dining room. Even though you hate your kitchen it’s in good condition to work in compared to some.
I love the hints of your style. Love the mix of old and new. Love the art and assorted “M”’s.
😁
Your "videos" are just great, keep on keeping it real. Can't wait for the next one. 😊😊😊
😀
Such a lovely château. When you're done with the renovation it will be spectacular.
Thanks :)
Loved the tour. What a beautiful chateau! I love the ceilings and paneling details, and the entrance hall is stunning. The staircase is beautiful and of course out each window are the most beautiful views. xx
Thanks Stephanie - we fell in love with the staircase...
Yes, fantastic view at the kitchen window! Excited to see what you choose to do with that space, I know it will be beautiful. Food infused with a cook’s inspiration and joy tastes so much better.
So right!!
