Sao Tome and Principe: The Islands in the Middle of the World

2024 ж. 13 Сәу.

Positioned just off Gabon's coast and secluded from the rest of the globe, this stands as one of Africa's tiniest nations. Its populace is a blend of the descendents of slaves and the initial Portuguese settlers. Within these untouched islands, where Nature is so generous, the people of Sao Tome and Principe revel in a paradise of lush forests, towering peaks, and azure seas.
Director: Scott Schneider

    • The country is very rich in culture and history. It would take a longer documentary to address it all, but in short, and to answer your questions, they have an active democracy, people may speak freely about their political views; The islands are subtropical - there is plenty of rainfall, and no lack of water, although it is rarely plumbed, but rather obtained from the nearest spring, stream, or outdoor laundry; apart from fishing and agriculture, there is work in tourism, the islands being a popular spot for people coming from or flying through Portugal via direct flight; apart from cacao, coffee, vanilla, and pepper are produced; whilst traditionally the islanders are mostly of Catholic persuasion, there are around nine other Christian denominations; transport between the islands is made by plane or boat, and motorbikes are used extensively within the islands, being used as the most common kind of taxi service too...truly there is so much to find about on these islands. They are very beautiful and special.

And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

  • That’s ridiculous in these times , killing a huge tree that is hundreds of years old for a single boat ! The cost to the planet outweighs the benefit to a few people by millions of times ! A single fibre glass or aluminum boat will last way longer and the trees can keep cleaning the air and water giving many animals life including the human animal !
