  • Love the 22-250. I use it for deer and coyotes. Haven't lost one! Hammer time with Hornady 55gr.

  • @slag2099 Technically just about anything will mess with your point of impact, just depends on how far out you're shooting. At closer ranges you really wont see differences...but in long range you start seeing harmonics and twist rates playing bigger factors. Temperatures, (obviously) wind, thickness/quality of the barrel, type of rifling and how it sits. Even the rotation of the Earth comes into play far enough.

  • Suppressors are great on hunting rifles make it much better for the hunters ears and also make hunting more successful as more often than not you get the follow up shot if required. Animals just stand there when the shooting starts, I have seen them be very very effective for pest control as well, when culling Goats you can often get the whole mob if you plan the shots well as the animals just don't know where the shots are coming from so they just freeze.

  • Glad to hear that works well for your application, but it doesn't for mine... 55 grains of mayhem going 3800 does nothing for me, especially when I like to keep my barrel life, and more importantly hunt for fur... Now deer on the other hand, I'll simply bump up to my LongRifles, Inc. 260 shooting the 139's about 2800fps, it's a deer and antelope killer, from 0-1K all while posting .250 MOA with hand loads.

  • I've had both 22-250 and 243. I now own the 243 and I personal think its a more accurate round good for foxes and deer cuz you can shoot heavier bullets more consistent! Get a steyr pro varmint In 243 my best loaf is nosler 55 grain btips with 45.5 grain of varget @ 3800 fps.. 0.4 5 shot group at 100 yards :)

    @trev815@trev81511 жыл бұрын
    • trev815 the audio on this video was nowhere near correct, the 22-250 un suppressed is a whole lot louder than a 17 hmr. I own both calibers and love both! I'm just guessing here but the 250 is almost twice as loud as the 17.

    • Not nearly as good, as it is overbore quite a bit, compared to the .224 VAPR.

      @ONEILLOPS@ONEILLOPS7 жыл бұрын
  • @Tikkarifle if they where subsonic there would NOT be a sonic boom. also, the main benefit of .22-250 vs .223 is the higher velocity and better ballistic properties, you wouldn't be doing much better than a .22 L.R. if they where subsonic.

    • No sir, not with the 22-250.

      @ONEILLOPS@ONEILLOPS7 жыл бұрын
    • Then you still get the sonic bullet noise if not subsonic regardless of the suppressor muffling the blast. There are two things that make noise maybe three. One is the cartridge report or discharge. Two is the bullet breaking the sound barrier at high velocity. Three to a lesser extent is the mechanics of the gun such as a moving bolt. To me its not worth it to suppress a rifle given that the bullet needs to be supersonic or high velocity for generating downrange muzzle energy. The bullet will always make supersonic noise. A suppressor being a muffler for a rifle will lessen the cartridge discharge and flash noise but not the supersonic bullet noise that can always be heard over distance. Under most hunting situations there is no advantage as one animal drops and goes down then the rest will spook regardless of any noise. This even happens with relatively quiet archery bow and arrow. Animals are not stupid. They know what is happening to others around them and it has nothing to do with whether there is noise or not.

      @rbm6184@rbm61847 жыл бұрын
    • RB M That is completely fine, and you make some very valid points to justify your not wanting to purchase a can... I've been running suppressed for over a decade, and can tell you from my experience using over 100 mods, hunting, filming and shooting, the pro's far outweigh the cons. I can easily list them all in my specific situation, but it would be quite lengthy.

      @ONEILLOPS@ONEILLOPS7 жыл бұрын
    • I just shoot my 10/22 when I want subsonic in this caliber. Costs a lot less. Not much point in powering down high velocity 22 cartridges (223, 220, 22-250 etc.) to be subsonic because all you are doing is reinventing subsonic 22 long rifle or 22 short.

    • Religion is poison jesus I'm from queensland and if you think a tiny little 22 250 is loud come and use my .300win mag..lol. 22 250 are a great caliber, thinking about getting one for what the .22lr can't do.

      @clintonwalsh2264@clintonwalsh22646 жыл бұрын
    • Yep, it's different than the 30 cals for sure. People always comment on my "250" about how it has a bark to it. It'll ring your bell real good if you don't have good hearing protection and it will still shake you up WITH hearing protection. It's a very high muzzle pressure and hypersonic shockwave. Both together make a screaming bark of a report that is like nothing I have ever heard. It's absolutely killer on deer, I don't have any other words for it. I blew a doe's head to pieces several years ago. Everything below the eyes was gone and only the empty skull was left. A 45 gr HP doing 4,000 fps is a nasty thing to deal with. My dad and brother both use 30-06, and that sounds like a cannon, more of a boom with that one. Both of them saw what the 22-250 does on deer and said they were switching. Hoping to get set up with a suppressor this year so I can shoot more. The concussion is just too much for me after having explosions damage my ears. Just hitting a board with a hammer will make them ring.
