Bolt Cutter Needed To Save Seal!

This seal had a bright blue spool stuck around his neck. He likely played with it under water, and it slipped onto his neck, and he could not get it off by himself. As he grew, the spool became tighter and tighter, stopping him from hunting and even breathing properly. The rescuers could see immediately that the spool was not movable anymore, they had to take the bolt cutter out. A first attempt to saw it off was unsuccessful, because the animal became too stressed out.
Naude used the bolt cutter to slowly chip away the hard plastic and eventually the team could bend it open and Wally managed to break it in half, which was needed to remove it from the seal's neck.
Thanks to Wally's awesome new release system, the rescuers could safely open up the front of the rescue net and watch the seal run off into the safety of the ocean, hopefully to have a big meal. The first day of his new life. 🦭

    • @@id10t98 I'm not a seal behaviourist by any means, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of them grow accustomed with what the guys do here. At some point in their small seal brain, they might be able to make an association with this particular group of human and the fact that each one of their group that gets caught survives the encounter. You can even see some of them not even running when the humans approach, but hey, that's only a big fat assumptiom from me lol.

    • @@simonmercier6733 What would be amusing is if some of the seals realize these strangely survivable humans only grab the injured/sick seals so the healthy more aware ones are just like "Oh it's them again. They must be here for Jerry. Dude's been smelling like a pile of dead fish for weeks prancing around with that necklace on." And they just wait to see how they nab him.

Personally l have a bit of a laugh when they get riled up expecting the worst, they get straps, fishing line cut off, then get pats & cuddles and when you try to release them and they don't want to go...lol Then to finish, they keep coming back so you have to tap them on the tail so they go back in the water...lol Now that is damned Cute!

Then there's the confusion of who was bad or good because Fear of the unknown and some ET "abduction" cases show how the person was HEALED or taught good things but they were terrified due to the looks of the ETs but admit they weren't harmed at all. It's Consciousness and Perception mixed with mostly FALSE REALITY, kind of like HUMANS LIVE, lol.

Everyone knows how playful, and innocent, they are.. Seen as competition by fisherman, or just plain cruelty. So skinny, hope he can get some meals in him now to rebuild his strength. You guys truly are the very best.. Thank you so, so much. Keep safe guys 💜🇬🇧💜

    • That spool had a lot of line left on it. Way too much to just throw it away. I'm sure it fell into the sea by accident. Loops of line are used for many purposes on ships, mostly to hold other things together or to hang things up. So, most probably most of them fall into the sea by accident as well. But it is still possibly that some of them are thrown into the sea to intentially kill seals. Cruelty and stupidity of some peoply has no limit.

    • I wonder if any of this ocean rubbish comes from tsunamis, hurricanes and storm surges etc. I guess things fall off boats or get washed out. I really hope there aren’t people out there that just thrown garbage into the sea/ocean. All this overfishing is so devastating 😭😤

    • imagine the pain that must've caused him when he went right back into the salt water right after he was saved. it really sucks because they did all they can do, but it makes me upset knowing that all of these seals are going to be going into the salt water where the salt is going to sting the f'ing s*** out of them. the silver lining in it all is that the salt water should disinfect the wounds, but at the same time, this is precisely why it would sting so damn badly by going into the salt water.

      @Hello-ig1px@Hello-ig1px Жыл бұрын
    • @@Hello-ig1px Actually saltwater doesn't have any disinfecting properties. This urban myth most likely come due to disinfectants cause the same burning sensation as saltwater. Actually there are way more bacteria in seawater than in fresh water. Never swim with a wound if you can prevent it.

    • @@Hello-ig1px When I saw that cut; I thought of my horses. Horse people use Blu-Kote or Fura-zone on cuts like that. Both come in a spray or cream, and they are anti-bacterial and antifungal. They both dry immediately (waterproof) and you can use both on dogs. I bet they would be safe on that poor little seal. I do hope the salt water helps like you said. 👍👍

      @cubnation@cubnation Жыл бұрын
    • @@justuskroger3409 idk dude, it is certainly up for debate whether or not salt water helps wounds. but i find it strange how you are so confident that it is a myth. if you look it up online, you will see 50% of websites stating that it will help heal and prevent bacteria growth. then there will be another 50% saying the opposite. the reason why i am pretty sure it helps is because my dentist told me to clean my mouth with my wisdom teeth pulled with saltwater. then my doctor told me to clear my nasal passages with saline water when i had a stuffy nose.
