It will also allow fuel elements to pass into crankcase further degrading oil much faster. When the oil goes bad or low the timing chain wears. It's all downhill from there!!

  • For an economy car, Chevy Cruzes aren't too bad. They look ok, appear solidly built, are practical, and repair costs are relatively low. It's definitely not the worst car ever. For worse cars regarding reliabilty, just say "Jaguar", "Land Rover", or "BMW".

  • I’m from IL originally and spent 14 years there as a tech. I’ve dealt with the emissions testing a lot. IL will not pass a car if readiness monitors are not set, therefore you can’t just clear a code and drive it through the lane. They will check! Cat codes can take days to reset due to the readiness monitors needing to see certain drive cycles and conditions. It’s a real pain, there’s no way to cheat.

I have a 2012, cruze, eco trim, with a 1.4L torbo engine, 6 speed manual transmission. I paid $17,500 in 2012. The highway mpg is 42, i am in texas, i often get 50 plus mpg. Like a Smart car, you felt at risk just sitting in the thing. "Suicide doors", and a 600cc engine. It was a turd. They were so bad they should have just shipped them directly to the junk yard when the came off the assembly line.
