You are very welcome. Thank you for the comment, and I hope you explore more music from my channel. There is music from all periods, mainly focused on new music and pieces that have been overlooked or forgotten for no good reason. This piece from Bach, is famous, of course. Erik

Hi Erik, I don’t really agree about standards. This music piece is very well-known, popular. But the way you play it, the way you maken your stops combination, take the voice of the melody, is what makes it unique. Sometimes I hear other famous music from e.g. Guilmant with terrible registration and mechanic playing, while the same music played by e.g. Ben van Oosten is so much nicer and “unique. Nice example: kzhead.info/sun/m7d6c6VpjXiqqGg/bejne.html

Thanks, Fred. Yes, I agree that registration and interpretation is important. For music before Bach, so is the tuning and voicing of the organ, but somehow Bach sounds good on almost any organ if someone plays it sensitively and not mechanically. This post is an example of "modern Bach", but I think it works well in its own way.
