  • Operation Barbarossa ended up being failure in December 1941 after battle of Moscow. German and other axis forces eventually ran into supply and other logistical problems on eastern front and eventually got overwhelmed by brave Russian forces. Barbarossa was the largest invasion force in human history, I don’t think anyone will ever top that magnitude. 3.8 million men, 3000 tanks, 2500 aircraft, 7000 artillery pieces and invading across a 1800 mile front from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. The enormity of this invasion has been forgotten.

    • @@Contagious93812 You think Russia is strongest country? Hell no. Russians always have lived in extreme poverty, and there is no denying in that fact. Russia lost around 11-12 million soldiers on the East and Germany around 3-4 million soldiers on the east. You call that strong? Germany also got massbombed by American and English bombers. The bombing started in 1940, but the massbombing began on 1943. Germany was also dealing with the U.S and Britain. Those were allies of the Communist. I rather have them as ally then a country like Hungary and Italy... That was all Germany had. USA also gave a massive funding to the USSR (lend-lease) Even Soviet general Zhukov said that it saved Communism, and Stalin allowed U.S fundings. In 1941 Germany and USA both had 7 times bigger defence budget then USSR. Why? because USSR is a poor country thanks to a failed system that is called socialism. If America would have helped the Germans, Russia and the Russian poeple would now have been one most of the happiest and richest countries in the World. You are talking about TSAR bomba? Remember that the atomic bomb was founded by the United States and not by the Communist.

      @paulthecrusader3488@paulthecrusader34884 жыл бұрын
    • @@paulthecrusader3488 About lend-lease, the share of supplies increased slowly. In 1941, only 1% of the total number of goods was delivered, and 1942 - 27.6%. Thus, more than 70% of supplies fall on the period 1943-1945 - the moment when a turning point in the war has already come. In late May 1945, US presidential adviser Harry Hopkins, in a conversation with Stalin, said: "... we never believed that our Lend-Lease assistance was the main factor in the Soviet victory over Hitler on the Eastern Front. It was achieved by the heroism and blood of the Russian army. " In the report of the US President to Congress on the implementation of the Lend-Lease program until March 31, 1945, it was pointed out that the Soviet armies were supplied mainly with Soviet weapons and materials.

    • Greetings from Crimea (RF). My grandmother was nurse's aide in Sevastopol. She was 15 and her duty was to pull wounded soldiers from the battlefield, when battle is over. She told a story about wounded young soldier she pulled from battlefield. She took some rest several meters from him, they talked. She said he was cute. And then a mortar shell hited him. His flash and blood splashed to her face, even her mouth was full with it. She always cried when she told that story... I just wonder what do you Germans have in your heads? Do you know why did we win that war? Not bacause we Russians are tough or something. We just did not have another choice. You came not to fight against us but to annihilate us and to enslave those of us, who survives. We lost about 30mln of people. Most of them were civilians. No other nation in human history had such cassalties during one war. You lost that war. Do you know, that USSR was the only ally, who did not want German state to disappear after WW2. In 1989 we let Germany unite again and took away our forces from Eastern Germany. What for? Now Americans threaten us with their nuclear weapon from your territory. Now your government supports Ukrainian nazis (btw on this video their grandparents meet German nazis with flowers) puts sanctions on us because Crimea is ours. Really, what do you Germans think about? Crimea was always ours, even 77 years ago, when my grandmother in her 15 did everything she could to save our nation. Then she was enslaved and worked at german factory. She saw too much for her age, dont you think so. I guess both nations Russians and Germans have very short memory. The only difference is that our short memory lets us forgive and your short memory lets you forget.

  • Germany could never have won this conflict because of the terrain and distances involved, logistics killed em, the high command was warned of this and Halders response. Well just wing it , hitler also hoped that after a swift kick the Russians would give up. Assumption is the mother of all screwups, whats amazing is that after losing millions of men in the first year alone they managed to turn it around and pull out a victory
