I am a retired Luthier. Did anybody else see how perfect the decals were on the neck, and no rust on the tuners. Even a blind man would tell you this is a big FAKE.
Its fake restoration
From the moment the scissors come out.
Luthier too and I agree so much : it's a RIDICULOUS FAKE !!
also notice how the pickups were all conveniently still usable, despite supposedly being left outside for god knows how long he wanted us to believe. my strat from 2014 is having a neck pickup that has low volume output, frets almost flat from constant bending and playing. I put that strat in my room and it doesn’t even get exposed to sunlights. i wonder if this guy can help me rewound my pickups.
Smelled at rat the second I saw all that sawdust sprinkled onto the guitar. Baloney!
I’ve been a guitar enthusiast for 30 years. I’ve seen guitars in every conceivable condition of wear and disrepair. This is the most hilarious attempt I’ve ever seen of someone “restoring” a “dirty” instrument. Yes fellow commenters, it’s fake as hell.
It's sacrilege to do that to a guitar to make a video. 14:13 Serial number 11102308572 = (11) year 2011, (10) month, (23) factory Indonesia, (08572) serial number.
Just passing by to say that Jesus loves you and wants to forgive you of your sins, repent and surrender to Him
@@sr.satoshi9987 I am without sin. Also, unless Jesus is deputized, I'm not even surrendering my ID.
The neck is pristine, it's a fake.
I am very interested in those never-rusting strings 😂
😂😂
ajjajajajajajaj Elixir Definitive Edition
Exactly!!
This is so fake that it gave fale a whole new meaning
And what *competence* do *you* have to claim something ( *provable* ) about craftsmanship as shown in the video...? 🤔 Just a question.
@@28076130513B Its very easy to see that the guitar is newish and all the issues are hand made. Look at the strings, no rust whatsoever. The body besides covered in dirt is actually nearly pristine. The wires have no sign of aging or wear n tear, which they should show it. The pickups lack any sign of forgotten
When you prep/Fake something to make a video. just put a text in the beginning that states this, youll keep the respect. for example "Faked for entertainment purposes"
Ruin the giutar and then restore it Genius

This is fake. The "old" strings he's cutting at the beginning are new. Real strings from a neglected instrument would be a rusty crusty mess.
This is so fake it's not even funny. You clearly did the damage yourself then threw a bunch of dirt on them and wrapped it up like someone shipped it to you. If you're watching this and you believe he really got guitars in that condition you're way too gullible.
Had the same thoughts 💯
Why would he do that ❓
@@DH-tj6tfcontent?!
@@DH-tj6tf For content
thats how content work love, yall want more videos so they have to improvise. if he was to do a vid with actually messes up guitars it would most likely be a video once every few months bc ppl dont rlly trash or take bad care of guitars
Fake af. Those strings looked clean at the cut point.
yep its fake the paint is coming off and yet the wood looks fresh with no dmg😂 even the strings looks clean and what's more the top is so dirty and yet the back looks clean and with a little bit of dusting and it will look good again, even the wirings looks new despite not having a cover on it the color didn't even fade😂
The Philips radio resto is interesting. The Epi guitar looked as though someone heat torched the new body and covered it in sawdust.
You're spending that much time in a $200 Bolt On Neck Chinese Epiphone. Wow, you're nuts.
1 - Take a new guitar 2 - put it into a sandblaster 3 - wait 4 10 min 4 - et voila! 5 - restore and hipe
Except that's not how a sandblaster works..
Whew, for a second there I was afraid he'd forget to put ungrounded shielding tape under those humbuckers. What a master.
🤣🤣🤣 It took longer to make it look dirty than it did to "restore" it! 🤣🤣🤣
so you think he will crash a ferrari just to restore it afterwards?? for what, for the clicks?? ffs, wake up man.
And what *competence* do *you* have to claim something ( *provable* ) about craftsmanship as shown in the video...? 🤔 Just a question.
Ferrari? That is a piece of crap Epiphone, in perfect shape it’s worth about $150, so yeah, I’m telling you this video is fake and you’re a 🤡🤡🤡
@@M4r1a_Schn33 Why are you saying 'the clicks' like that isn't how people make money on KZhead? It's a blatant fake restoration job, done with very little skill or research.
@@M4r1a_Schn33a Ferrari? This is a 2011 cheap as chips Epiphone, like seriously, you're looking at no more than £150 new
This man left this guitar outside for 1 month, and now he has restored it....
Lol the clean shiny strings
Guitar looked like it was in a wet basement for years, but the strings looked brand new!!! And since when is Fender using plywood bodies?!?!
Wha? (Not even worth the "t") . Agree with all the other comments but wanted to add how the restoration expert here didn't even know how to lift knobs. SAD!
The walking machinheads screws are a funny touch. :)
You performed about $375 billable hours worth of work on a $110 (used) guitar. Reinstalled terrible tuning machines and electronics. Why?
I scored one of these at a Flea Market for $20. I did all kinds of stuff to it just for the experience of getting to do it. I even dropped a set of SD invaders in it just because I can. You don't need reason to just do a thing.
Because this is nonsense.
For content?
Yeah. I noticed the lucite plastic knobs show no yellowing either..usually a telltale sign of age. Looks like a newer guitar covered with paint stripper then put into a deep freeze for a while.
At the :40 mark the neck is noticeably cleaner than at 2:40... This hack must've gotten more of that crappy sand. 😅
Literally watched the whole entire Fender resto for the headstock repair and you just bought a different headstock >< lol
а в чому сенс брати нормальну гітару, жучити її паяльною лампою, присипати брудом і видавати за Old?))))
Сенс в тому, щоб ти переглядав це відео
The refret was clssic.......acting at its best😂😂
Real o no me parece un gran trabajo, yo veo estos videos para entreterme pero hay gente que sólo quiere criticar y no tienen ni la mitad de habilidad que tiene este hombre para hacer estos trabajos😂
Don't store your guitar under water kids
Fake or not, I still enjoy seeing it restored. I am not so cynical. Just enjoy the process of restoring something to its close to the original piece. Thanks for sharing.🙏🙏🙏
Do you find a lot of abandoned guitars on the beach?
With magic self cleaning stings and logos.
Congrats! It's amazing the technic that you have to rust a guitar. The restauration is fake.
I guess my only question would be regarding the strat. Why no grain filler before you painted it? It seems like that wouldve been better for that glossy wet look?
Pure comedy. Thanks for the laugh, restorer person.
What did you spray at 27:04 on the bridge? Thanx
Quando o cara desembrulhou e limpou a poeira já achei estranho... não deu outra, é fake 😂😂😂😂
Not one screw missing! Incredible.
Restaurada guitarra 🎸😉
The strings were probably in better shape than the rest of the guitar pre-restoration.
Do you tested it for radioactive?
Was this guitar rescued from the Titanic?
How many guitars do you have exposed to the elements in your backyard?
Hey i have a yamaha pacifica (fender knock-off) that i want to change. If i sent it to you, could you do the work?
The art lies in how they manage to get things that dirty, you gotta give them that at least 😂
Obviously fake and why spend all that time and effort on a $300 guitar?
Answer: Because he is *able* to do it, just *for fun,* for *selling* them, because restoring is *cheaper than buying new instruments,* and... ...because expensive originals are rather rare lying around forgotten in backyards, in damp cellars, and bulky waste where they rotten over years or even decades...? 🤔 Just a few examples of *many* possible reasons. 🙄 And what *competence* do *you* have to claim something ( *provable* ) about craftsmanship as shown in the video...? 🤔 Just a question.
@@28076130513B "because expensive originals are rather rare lying around forgotten in backyards..." No they goddamned aren't. That's the lie these stupid videos tell. No no no there's no electric guitars just lying around all over the place. What a fool to believe such obvious nonsense.
@@28076130513BYou should get your brain checked
@@28076130513B Real easy... Buy cheap used guitar, throw junk all over it, "restore" it, make money on YT. You can tell it is fake just by the strings, strings rust just from playing them normally. If the whole gutar is a rusty mess, those strings would be rusted out like crazy. Also, the paint on the first guitar is WAY too thick, he smeared something like melted sugar all over the natural wood body and that is the crunchy flakey shell around the guitar that easily comes off with a scrape. On top of that, the wood under the paint is stained, they do not stain wood to then paint over it on any guitar, especially not on a $200 guitar.
It’s not a $300 guitar. That’s a $150 guitar. It’s the cheapest epiphone ever made. And they didn’t make them too long ago. That’s why I know this is fake.
Just curious how much you sold the Fender for?
Gibson Les Paul budget variant?
Parabéns pelas restaurações todas lindas e maravilhosas!!! Restaurar e criar faz bem, imagino o prazer que vocês sentem.
Great band
and not one stripped screw ya right LOL
That neck that's broken was planned on to the squier body to make it look broken and then the real squier neck to that white body comes out so you know its all staged. That neck that he refretted for no reason belongs to that body in the first place so it's all staged. Too bad because that squier neck looked really cool aged the way it was. Should have respray it white again put the original neck on without refretted and sanded down and put white plastics on it and it would have been perfect and vintage correct.
this does seem fake like they took a guitar and buried it in a sandy beach
Obviously fake.
And what *competence* do *you* have to claim something ( *provable* ) about craftsmanship as shown in the video...? 🤔 Just a question.
I wasn't talking about the craftmanship. The damage was fake to set up the video. I have an engineering background and I have restored over 100 vintage electronic devices. The damage to this guitar was not natural. It was most likely done by leaving it under water in a creek or irrigation ditch.
❤🎸❤MY ELECTRIC GUITAR AND BASS ARE GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. WE AREN'T NEEDING RESTORATION, BUT ONE MIGHT COME ALONG THAT NEEDS HELP. ❤🎸❤
From reading all the comments, the guitar wasn't really that damaged. I like watching restoration videos. Is what this guy did, still viable restoration techniques? Yes, he could have been honest about it but if what he's doing is how you restore it, isn't that worth something?
I have the same Squier from 90s. I want to do the same work
you do not clean frets like that
The new stainless steel strings 😂
This guitar was found by Egyptologists during excavations in a 5,000-year-old tomb, along with the first Roling Stones music cassette.🤣
King Tut used it himself
Yeah i make up stories too.
O cara tomando o maior cuidado do mundo pra não pegar tétano 😂😂😂
The pre-drilled board for the Epiphone to help you clean all the screws was genius. I'm filing that idea away for future use. Pity you could not save the paint on the Epi - might have looked epic with the checking on it.
It's a 2011 Epi with a poly finish. No way that the "checking" is in any way genuine, it would have been a result of whatever ungodly stuff this guy did to the guitar before he "restored" it
carefully wrapped up the guitar with dirt on top. That in itself is worthy of... oh no wait
Never touch a guitar again
A tip, instead of paint remover … try use a hot air gun and scrape the paint of.
Фендер сделан из фанеры?
...when you love restoring guitars so much that you have to ruin new ones
Why did he loosen the bridge posts before removing. Oh yea, and HOW did they unscrew like brand new?
I watched both rebuilds. At 2x speed. I enjoyed both. Why not upgrade since you were going to all that trouble?
Because its fake
Oh well. @@saamo1423
🥰🥰✌
Is it a les Paul, or a Stratocaster?
isnt the paint remover not very toxic ? isnt it ?
You should restore Tony Iommi's guitar. Chris Holmes also has dead guitars.
Where did they dig up the Les Paul?🤔
Is there a reason you didn't test the neck bend, fret height etc.... this is 90% more important than anything else...

When you spray oil on volume/tone pots, or any electronic parts, make sure it is dialectric oil. Regular WD-40 or the like can damage contact surfaces or short out the current.

How to spend hours to "restore" a $100 guitar
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Then when he's finished, look how he strings it. Doesn't even leave enough slack for 2-3 winds 20:45.
The second one looks legitimately beat up. Nobody stuck around for that one it looks like.
he got a deal on the plywood body "Fender Sandocaster" $1.99 , I recon the replacement neck cost 2 or 3 hundred though? 😁
what kind of "only natural wax" is it ????
you are truly extraordinary.. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 salute
Why strings are not rusted?
The tune-o-matic bridge was mounted backwards
looks fake..somebody just dumbed dirt on the Epi..
That is not a real Fender strat. At 29:40 you can see that the body is plywood. The Fender doesn't do that.
Correct sir, poss a 90s Korean squire or some random eastern body.
Correct, poss. 90s Korean squire or some other random eastern body
21:44 nice old orfeus guitar from the soviet era.
You should've just cleaned up the wiring and brushed off the dirt and sealed in the cracked body work. Somebody would think it was custom beat up and could play hard.
Epiphone Les Paul specials are not even vintage, the strings are brand new, you can tell where they used paint, this is so fake it’s not even funny.
That guitar was in the deep sea in the Titanic.... 🥶🥶😆😆😄😄🇪🇸🇪🇸
These videos are so stupid. None of that wear is natural. And what is with the sand wtf? He should also show the video where he takes that relatively new Epiphone and messes it up
Lmao did you see how easy those tuner bushings came out??!
If you don't want to watch, there are other things on you tube.
@@KevinSmithdc I'm busy watching this faking fuck
Or maybe the guitar was damaged in flood caused by a hurricane that hit a beach town or somewhere where there is salt water and sand.
I´ve seen instruments lying forgotten in backyards, on lawns, near a field, in damp cellars, and - most - in bulky waste... ...and not a few were in more terrible condition than the guitars in this video. So what do you think is “suspicious” or “fake” about the condition of the instruments shown in the video...? And what makes you sufficiently competent to doubt all of this, or even to call it a blatant fake...?
Saw the exact same video as a yard sale. Fender restoration . So is it a fender or an epiphone
Exceptional camera work
Essa guitarra foi vítima de naufrágio?
Knob removal I use two spoons opposite sides of the knob
The question right from the beginning are : Why the sands stay so perfectly on the top of this guitar ? The second question after that : Oops, I'm gone......
Como siempre interesantísimo. Gran trabajo.
Снимаю старый лак.... Мочу салфетку кладу на корпус, беру утюг нагеваю корпус.... старое покрытие становится как желе... и потом снимаю его....
Should have left the finish on the strat, 1000 grit, clear coat. People love relic guitars.
Personally, I don't understand the craze for paying a premium for deliberately damaged guitars. I have a '68 SG Standard I bought when I was a teenager. I'm now 71. The guitar has 56 years of dings, nicks, and scratches that it actually earned. Would you buy a new, pre-damaged car?
I always ship my guitars with a pound of dirt on them!
Amazing how the strings weren’t rusted up, considering how bad the guitar has been made to look, fake I would say, my strings normally get rusty when I leave it for a few months unplayed, so why were these ok.
Be careful with those scissors, you may scratch the paint.
