Elbow, spinning heel kick and some other moves that are not allowed in kickboxing, are allowed in UFC. Grappling, hip tosses and such are also allowed in UFC, even during stand up matches. In a nut shell, anything goes except dirty fighting. UFC and well MMA in general is a lot more then just ground work
Yeah I think he meant Unified MMA rules in the sense of rules applicable during stand-up so no eye pokes, groin strikes, headbutts, biting, small joint manipulation, fish hooking or putting any fingers in any orifices (no dreaded wrestling 'oil check') etc. As for not being taped up, presumably a matter of preference since perhaps kung-fu guy would otherwise being forced to be taped up as an excuse as to why his kung-fu wasn't working lmao
