I’m 73 years old and have been enjoying these series for the past several weeks before going to bed. How fun!! Better than looking at the tube and i learn so much of the English.
Wonderful ❤

Have you tried listening to Baldi, another radio detective series. Set in Ireland, it does have a variety of accents but decent English, easy on the ear.
Inspector West is good too.
KZhead Google Old radio shows 1930's to 1950's BBC Radio shows Same years
I am 78 years old & since the Paul Temple mysteries came on You Tube a number of years ago, I have been enjoying them a lot. I am on my third run through & they are still as enjoyable as the first time through.
Me too 78 years old and only had radio til early fifties. I still listen to both my radios mainly to follow different Pastors & other Christian teachers ✝️❤️🙏 GOD BLESS YOU
Just curious as a whipper snapper 41 year old... How many episodes are there?? I enjoy listening before bed...
Love Marjory Westbury's beautiful voice
In my 72nd year & these stories help get me off to sleep each evening. I’m hooked & the stylish presentation & fabulous use of English grammar create the times the stories were set in quite clearly for all to enjoy
This takes me back us having no 📺 and just a brown bakealite box & a volume control, our programs were by means of an A-L switch, with our crumpets being toasted over a real 🔥; great days and huge congrats to the Beeb for keeping all of these recordings
More than simply fabulous crime dramas - comfort blankets too 😊
I’m heading toward my seventy fourth birthday and listen to the Paul Temple series over and over, especially before I go to sleep. They’re marvelous productions with such talented cast members. Thank you for making these available to so many fans of great 6:30 British mysteries and drama.
Just FYI. Sometimes especially at night I must accidentally touch the thumbs down as I just now noticed had been done. It’s been quickly corrected to the thumbs up “like” because I am thoroughly enjoying these Paul Temple programs. They help me get through some painful days and nights. Hopefully I’ve gotten all such mistakes corrected.
Excellent drama from the “olden days”, easy listening that I fall asleep to then wake and listen to the rest. More please!
Thankyou once again for giving us the pleasure of listening to these gems!
I love these murder mysteries. Not one swear word was spoken and it sure beats all the modern day mysteries even though are quite well done have ripples of political correctness running through them. So a huge thank you for downloading these. I have to listen to them again many times as I fall asleep and I’m not too sure where I got up to. It’s a nice problem to have x
What you think is political correctness is just society evolving. Nothing to be afraid of
Ohh I share the same problem!
By Timothy...people complaining about political correctness even after Trump and Brexit haha ... give it a fucking rest and enjoy the pleasant but dated drama.
I'm 67 yrs old and absolutely love these radio shows. There is such a variety of old radio shows. Better then tv !!
Mr. Temple and his girl Steve are most refreshing! It's all fun, and adventure for these too. Listening is fun, easy, and relaxing helps me sleep every time 🙏🏿 KB
Im 62yrs and love storys ❤
I'm 28 and enjoy listening to these
Good for you I am 82 and have been listening to radio stories since I was 10 years old ….very best wishes to you….and good night.
I've never heard of another Peter Cook and at first I expected a spoof with Dudley Moore as Steve! This is good!!!❤ More please!
Yes, a little confusing! He spelled it Peter Coke. Actors in the UK are obliged to have unique names to register with Equity, the actors' union. Some actors added fictitious middle initials to prevent their names clashing with another actor's.
Fantastic-thankyou 😊
Good plot lines wonderful spoken English and not a single “innit”
I am absolutely loving this. It is bringing back strong memories of hearing these stories, with my mother and nan. Wonderful times that have been brought back clearly. Thank you for this
What a wonderful audioplay 😊thank you kindly.
You're very welcome 😊thank you.
I am always waiting for the next episode that is uploaded .. listened to them all !! Give me more !! So fabulous. Great performances and writing as well as sound effects
Yes, but the trouble listening to a lot of them is you start to recognise the voices from regular characters playing smaller parts. Still they’re good and takes your mind off things…By Timothy! 😊 30:50
Thank u for letting us fall asleep to them and not have obnoxious interference with music like thinking out loud and some of the other stations do
Loving this collection of radio shows. Advertising can be a bit annoying but at the same time all adverts are very short so no problem. Great actors as well. Like old school for me when sitting by the radio every evening with the family was something we looked forward too.
Always enjoy these series 👍🙏👍
Thank you! I like this version more than remake one.
Simply the best…….wonderful!
Very enjoyable ! Thank you
I can definitely relate to all the other comments. Because I can listen to Paul Temple mysteries all day and night and never get bored…I have not watched Television 📺 for years so these mysteries keep me occupied.
I'm painting and listening 🎉merry holidays and a brilliant new year.
And to you!
I find these very interesting.
Thank you
There's something about the characters in the stories that are really quite fun
I’m 56. Edit: Sorry, forgot to add, thank you for uploading. You can’t beat Paul Temple, by Timothy!
I’m 28. 😉Haha thanks Mark, appreciate you stopping by. Over 10 years since I first discovered these and I never get tired ‘em, “Are you sure?” something else he says all the damn time😂
'Oh really 'Mr Temple' ...'at your disposal!...carefull 'darling' that Charlie dosent throw you out !
Poor bloody Charlie :(

The overacting & cliched dialogue, particularly by the woman called Steve is just too much to bear. Had to stop it before going completely potty.
you have to remember when they were written and the original ones recorded. The reading of the news at that time sounded the same.
Awful. I've listened to a lot of these radio plays and enjoy most but I'm terminating this one now at less than 1/2 way through. Dreadful overacting particularly the scene when the woman known as 'Steve' was in the clothes shop. Can't take any more!
What year was this trash
The moment you looked in the mirror and realised you were a prat - 2024 Jan 6th to be precise Hope this was helpful
This delightful radio drama was originally aired in 1959.

Why on Earth would you say this is trash. Can you elaborate?
