The sleuth and wife Steve hunt a missing baby and must identify a mystery man.
Francis Durbridge's thriller stars Peter Coke as Paul Temple and Marjorie Westbury as Steve in another intriguing case for BBC radio's smoothest investigator and his glamorous wife.
From 1938 to 1969 the fictional crime novelist and detective Paul Temple, together with his Fleet Street journalist Steve, solved case-after-case in one of BBC radio's most popular series. They inhabited a sophisticated world of chilled cocktails and fast cars.

I am so glad to realize that I am not the only one to listen to these wonderful radio dramas repeatedly! Thank you so much for uploading!
I only wish the other early BBC productions had not been forgotten, I think the BBC should think about reviving them as they did with Paul Temple and the Sullivan Mystery
Love Marjory Westbury's beautiful voice.
Agree. What a wonderful voice.
I've heard most of these a few times each. This is one of the better ones. Interesting how Francis matured over the years.
I go through relistening & re-enjoying these radio dramas. It’s like visiting dear old friends in an odd way. They really are very entertaining &, as a much younger listener than myself said, it is so fun to imagine the places, the fashions, the cars, etc. of the times. Thanks for continuing to show them.
Thank you for sharing this with us! ⚘
I fall asleep to this…have never managed to catch the endings 😂
You should make the effort well worth it
Thanks a lot for taking the trouble to answer.
Very consistent high level of entertainment.
Gotta love Steve and Temple! KB
I love all of Paul Temple series I never get tired of listening to them…. The only unfortunate thing is I listen to a lot of repeats …… Nevertheless I enjoy them! 👍🏾
Many thanks for the upload.
I used to listen to these back in the 40/50s. I was a young teenager. I used to think they were so sophisticated because Steve drank dry msrtinis. Only when I eventually tried one I thought it was terrible
I am really enjoying listening … thanks so much.📻
Love me some Paul Temple🤗🤗
Love this. Thank you!
Thankyou!
Love Paul Temple's series. Thank you.!
Excellent series.
This "Affaire" is exactly why I adore the Paul Temple series: I despise Temple himself, but Steve is KICKASS
Another brilliant play, great actors and great story
Great so far! 38
By Jove excellent 🎉
Absolutely wonderful, love this. Thank you so much for sharing!
I’ve listened to this about7 times and only just realised that there was no concern whatsoever about the waiter who was moving the papers when the bomb went off. He would have been killed outright. Only about Mrs. Droski. No worries about the servant class it seems!!!.
I noticed this too. Paul doesn’t have 😊much sympathy for anyone but Steve. But then he “shushes” her!
Interesting point….hadn’t thought of that 😮

It’s a story.
It’s very true in these stories. You only have to think how Charlie is treated, there are rules of speech for him. On one episode in the series he gives a cheery greeting to Steve and she totally ignores him. It seems that the servant class are subhuman.
Not locking the car door when leaving the car ???!!! These days you come back and no car!!!
The louder music and endless repeats of actors names is such a pain
Ty!!!!
Entertaining listening for sure but way too convulted . In every story there is an assassination attempt which miraculously doesn't kill our charming main characters, there is always a dead body mistakenly identified, than someone always disappears... by the middle of the story it's so entangled that I for sure give up trying to figure out anything. By the end I'm too exhausted to try and understand what the hell happened 😂😂😂😂. Anyway, no intention on my part to annoy anyone with this opinion. Still it's good fun when doing chores.
Does anyone know how Charley came to work for the Temples?
They found him fishing in the Thames
@@RhysOlwyn😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
When was this first broadcast?
@@rafaellopezmontes3553 sometime in the late 1940s or early 1950s
I think this series started 1938, their may have been earlier shows
Good stuff but too many repetitions of what a character has just said. And the overuse of “darling”.
That's Paul Temple for you!😄
Darrrrllliinnngg!!!🤪
I absolutely can't make any head or tail of the plot... Just here to hear they speak correct English.❤

Just a few small question if i may? Who has put Paul Temple on KZhead? How has the BBC allowed it? Does the postee pay the BBC to use license fee holders (Britons) to use what we've paid for (to be made) for the world to listen to? If yes, will us Britons get a reduction on our license fee? Thankyou.
Steve is so annoying 😂
