I also pretty much only watch UFC but haven't watched it in a couple years since the channel I used to watch it on made it a bit of a pian. I don't like the information such as wins vs loses and the numerous stats taking up the majority of the TV while only less then a quarter of the TV has the actual fight. I've seen what looked like some push kicks but honestly they might have been front snap kicks but the majority of kicks I've seen in the UFC are roundhouse kicks to the legs. I also have been wondering if a sidekick is illegal in competition particularly the UFC because I've never seen a UFC fighter even attempt to do a sidekick.

I use to do TKD. One of the worm ups my instructor would have us do was keeping one of our legs straight as we swung them up in a bit of a vertical direction. Pretty much left leg swung up from bottom left to top right of the body. I was doing this outside with sun glasses on to get some stretching in before doing some practice on my off time. My leg ended up bending as it came up and I kneecapped myself in the face slamming the sunglasses into my face. Made me hit the ground and nearly knocked myself out. My friend who was practicing with me got a laugh out of it. I even started laughing myself.

It's called stretches and practice. Before actually practicing martial arts, I could probably kick around abdomen height. After... well, it's been a few years since I've trained consistently, and I can still consistenly kick a man a full foot taller than me square in the jaw (I'm about 5'11 btw, so it's not a terrible height lol)

@Christ Almighty Gee, I can't say I've ever had that much steel fall on me, but I do know how that goes, I once got trapped under a scrap pile at work. (5-6 foot sections of miscellaneous square tubing, angle and pipe.) Luckily got out of that one without more than a few gashes. Similar situation though, unsecured, didn't take much for all that stock to come crashing down. As a welder, I've seen a lot of similar sketchy shit since, and I usually try to do something about it. Sorry to hear about your injuries bud, I hope one day you can make a good enough recovery to hit the mats again, although, I don't think the olympics are still in the picture.

That's useful. Pulling off an axe kick is difficult if your opponent can see it coming. Working it in following a rear round kick to the leg is efficient.

i used to do karate for long years, and a lot of senseis used to highlight the fact that martial arts have became more arts, and less martial. High kicks are basically useless if you aren't a 69 dan master, because if they catch your leg, you are basically dead. Use these kicks wisely.

Given the chance, sure she would, however, her sloppy technique will get her hip broken in a real fight. Speaking from experience, I have 3 ways off the top of my head using 1 pivot and 1 kick to break her pelvis. She's not all that and definitely not a good trainer or teacher. In fact many fighters are past they're prime by the time they arrive in the UFC like Bas Rutten, Ken Shamrock, Marco Huas, Maurice Smith, Royce Alger or Dan Severn. Many fighters have long careers as martial artists before they ever get in a UFC Octagon

My favorite thing to do in brawls, when I used to gang bang (reformed now) and when people underestimate my footwork (Ive been dancing for years and it gives your leg work a plethora of variants 💯 to incorporate in combos). The ball of the heel can crack your skull, your face and take you out when used proficiently and correctly.

Conversely, this is also the common setup for head kick knockout. Their arms and head actually come down to block the leg kicks. A switch to head is in one motion - over this two motion axe kick.

No it wouldn't. Street fighters almost never use kicks because it's too high a risk that you lose balance with a counter and then your out. Often I think that martial arts tips are putting people at risk...

I also pretty much only watch UFC but haven't watched it in a couple years since the channel I used to watch it on made it a bit of a pian. I don't like the information such as wins vs loses and the numerous stats taking up the majority of the TV while only less then a quarter of the TV has the actual fight. I've seen what looked like some push kicks but honestly they might have been front snap kicks but the majority of kicks I've seen in the UFC are roundhouse kicks to the legs. I also have been wondering if a sidekick is illegal in competition particularly the UFC because I've never seen a UFC fighter even attempt to do a sidekick.

I use to do TKD. One of the worm ups my instructor would have us do was keeping one of our legs straight as we swung them up in a bit of a vertical direction. Pretty much left leg swung up from bottom left to top right of the body. I was doing this outside with sun glasses on to get some stretching in before doing some practice on my off time. My leg ended up bending as it came up and I kneecapped myself in the face slamming the sunglasses into my face. Made me hit the ground and nearly knocked myself out. My friend who was practicing with me got a laugh out of it. I even started laughing myself.

It's called stretches and practice. Before actually practicing martial arts, I could probably kick around abdomen height. After... well, it's been a few years since I've trained consistently, and I can still consistenly kick a man a full foot taller than me square in the jaw (I'm about 5'11 btw, so it's not a terrible height lol)

@Christ Almighty Gee, I can't say I've ever had that much steel fall on me, but I do know how that goes, I once got trapped under a scrap pile at work. (5-6 foot sections of miscellaneous square tubing, angle and pipe.) Luckily got out of that one without more than a few gashes. Similar situation though, unsecured, didn't take much for all that stock to come crashing down. As a welder, I've seen a lot of similar sketchy shit since, and I usually try to do something about it. Sorry to hear about your injuries bud, I hope one day you can make a good enough recovery to hit the mats again, although, I don't think the olympics are still in the picture.

That's useful. Pulling off an axe kick is difficult if your opponent can see it coming. Working it in following a rear round kick to the leg is efficient.

i used to do karate for long years, and a lot of senseis used to highlight the fact that martial arts have became more arts, and less martial. High kicks are basically useless if you aren't a 69 dan master, because if they catch your leg, you are basically dead. Use these kicks wisely.
Grappling can be very stupid also if you rush in for maybe a tackle, and get a knee to to the face, strategy , skill , fitness always rules. I had a fool grab my front kick before, my foot was stuck in his belly,with both hands on my ankle, I smashed his face with a hammerfist

Seen a drunk guy once try an axe kick in a street fight, set it up really well, but missing his opponent, then got beaten. For 2 seconds there he was nearly a bad ass.
My favorite thing to do in brawls, when I used to gang bang (reformed now) and when people underestimate my footwork (Ive been dancing for years and it gives your leg work a plethora of variants 💯 to incorporate in combos). The ball of the heel can crack your skull, your face and take you out when used proficiently and correctly.
Conversely, this is also the common setup for head kick knockout. Their arms and head actually come down to block the leg kicks. A switch to head is in one motion - over this two motion axe kick.

No it wouldn't. Street fighters almost never use kicks because it's too high a risk that you lose balance with a counter and then your out. Often I think that martial arts tips are putting people at risk...
